let's not get violent over who's better, who's best =/
people have the right to believe and say what they like, yknow? why would anyone want to censor someone's beliefs, especially about something so silly? =/
That being green performance was from sesame street. It made me cry as a child but I never understood why. Now as an adult and seeing this special for the first time in almost 20 years I understand why. It's the power of his words and the power in being ok with who you are. That song is true art. And nobody sang it like ray.
@insaneninjabunny After a bit of googling (because I was curious of this myself), I've found the answer!!! It was an episode of the Jim Henson Hour titled "Monster Maker".
If you have Netflix, you can watch it on InstantPlay. =D
@chrismc18 I don't know about the clip at 8:42 but the one before it is from The Storyteller series. I believe the episode was called "Hans My Hedgehog".
lol sesame street after dave chappelle jokes bouy it i can never look at it the same "oscar's a grouch " yeah kid how u feel if u were the only puppet livin in a dumb can and nobody offers you a sleeping place jim henson still the shit tough
@rockyhorrorrebel I've been trying to figure this out for years! Same goes for the section right before it. It has been bothering me for quite some time.
Steven Spielberg and John Denver looked really handsome those days
and
R.I.P Jim Henson, John Denver and Ray Charles
you where men with hearts of gold, teaching children lots of things, making people laugh, still you had to disappear from this world with all the talents you had
it was a clip of the 1980's music video to the song " I'm Gonna Always Love You," which was sung by Baby Piggy in the movie THE MUPPETS TAKE MANHATTAN
I know! Disney bought the rights to the Muppets, and haven't really done much with 'em. They did put MuppetVision3D in WDW in Florida, and I'm so stoked, THEY'RE MAKING A NEW FRAGGLE ROCK MOVIE!!! XD It's not coming out 'til 2011 or so, but still exciting! I say they're making a comeback. Don't you?
disney didn't buy the rights outright. it's a partnership, as brian henson won't simply sell the muppets. they just recently renewed the contract. hence, the muppets' involvement with disney parks' "give a day, get a day" volunteering park promotion.
@26doubt Probably seriously worried about backlash if they screw up. It's why they've been damm careful about using The Mouse-it reflects badly on them if it turns out wrong and they're not having that.
They've got a strong rep, though it's old glory, but they will defend that rep to the DEATH.
@blackdinoranger5 You and me both also some other works like his fairy tale stories example, the frog prince, Hey Cinderella! and their christmas special.
loved the special :) and the ray charles song, i noticed elmo mixed in with the other mupppets, back when the show wasn't just about him like it is now
@jediKnightreviews Elmo got his own segment on Sesame Street, I imagine, because he's one of the most popular characters on the show. His laugh is infectious, and he was certainly my favourite growing up. I wouldn't say the show is entirely about him now, but his role certainly has increased.
Yes, Spielberg, heart and reason. That's what made Henson a storytelling genius, that's what EVERY great director needs to know how to convey in his films.
I started to cry when Ray Charles took over the vocal line of It's Not Easy Beig Green and the images of Jim Henson started to roll by...just beautiful...thanks for posting this
The whole story was a fairy tale. The girl's father made a promise to the hadgehog thinking he wouldn't have to keep it. The hedgehog becomes a man at the end.
I didn't know him but at the same time I do...I grew up with the Muppets and this is the first time I've cried about Jim's death. I watched clips of his memorial service on Youtube and Big Bird struggling to sing through "Its Not Easy Bein' Green" was one of the saddest things I've ever watched. Jim will always live on, the Muppets will never die.
does anybody know the name of the two live action movies/tv shows (?) that were in this clip? i swear i watched the one with the mechanical dragon when i was a kid
The live action stuff is from The Storyteller series.. the one with the Raven is from the greek myths series, the dragon is from the other series... you can find em on netflix, etc.
The one with the dragon is from 'The Jim Henson Hour.' It's called 'The Monster Maker' and can be found here on YouTube. Just search The Jim Henson Hour.
i wish jim was still here for the muppets are missing their heart. Jim was and is irreplaceable. this world is missing one great man who knew how to touch everyone.
yes, and oddly enough.. the first two seasons also have a content warning, "not for young children"... i suppose b/c of the subtle censorships that have been put into children's television over the last 30 yrs..
'It's In Everyone Of Us', which looks to be from the rocky mountain christmas special. You can get the audio from the 'A Christmas Together', track 11. It's part of a medley with a few other tunes.
9:10, that thing definitely has way more armor and HP than Deathwing o.0

@jmc1987jcgc Jim Henson was a wonderful man who spread the gift of joy to the world and is the greatest creative genius the world has ever known.
Steve Jobs was an asshole who abused his workers and took credit for their inventions. Don't you fucking dare compare them.
