I miss Madeline Kahn :( I met her at an opening of a condo on Park Ave 1985 ! I approched her and she was walking with a sexy girl Hmmm ? and I could not help myself by complimenting her on the movie Young Frienkenstien. The part I liked was the time she was pined down on the ground by Frankenstien 'soo funny" I asked her to sing us a little of that song lol ,she looked at me with such a sweet smile and and carresed my faced and said not tonight darling ! ♥ Ohh I miss you very much Mrs Kahn!
Missing from this charming tribute is her performance as "Trixie Delght" in "Paper Moon" and if you haven't seen this movie, I think you will enjoy it.
The closest thing to her in terms of talent and comedic chops is Megan Mullally. And she still couldn't fill her shoes. Madeline Kahn will always be one of the best and will always be missed. Great choice of song. :)
FABulous tribute to Madeline! She made me laugh myself to teears, and aching ribs she was so funny! ..the photo at 1:30 gave me goosebumps..caught me off-guard..two such genius comediennes, ..legends, gone so sadly soon. In honor of them we gotta keep laughing!!!
Uh! Thank you so much for posting this! I am a HUGE HUGE HUGE Madeline fan and I just can't get enough of her! Such an amazing talent! She is who I aspire to be! R.I.P. Madeline. I wish I could have met you.
The woman sang one of the most beautiful songs on SNL...layed out on a piano but damned if i can find it or remember the name of it. At the end of it there was nothing but stunned silence as they cut to a commercial. I think it was also the episode that included a tribute to Anwar Sadat where they had a video of an old arab cleaning up the assassination site and the camera froze on him as he dumped a white dove into a trash-can. SNL at its best.
you know, i don't think there's any sadder celebrity death than that of a comedian. bernie mac's death still tears me up! we lose these beautiful people far too early :(
an amazing actress who's talents we were so lucky to see! Hollywood didnt know what they had with both Madeline and Gilda! Too underused as seering talents who, with a simple pout or flick of the eye, eclipse so many of today's "stars". A true legend!
she also has an incredible voice. check out 'you'd be surprised' with her singing. does anyone know of any other recordings or performances besides her performances with the muppets of her singing?
@adamfirebear check out the on the twentieth century soundtrack she played the leading lady and had some good songs on that! and her verison of getting married today is on a cd called broadway divas!
She was so damn funny. I miss her very much and was so sad when she passed away. She and Gilda were two peas in a pod, two of the funniest people on the planet. Watch Madeline and Johnny Carson together, classic.
Nice video, very sensitive but also shows her somewhat bawdy personality and comedy. RIP, Madeline.
We all miss her...... my favorite role I saw of her was in "What's Up Doc?" with Ryan O'Neal and Barbara Streisand.....one of the funniest movies I've seen....
I actually didnt know that she had died until a couple of weeks ago. Me and my dad were watching Blazing Saddles, and at the end of it we watched the special features. And they were talking about Madeline Kahn in past tense. So I looked it up and found out she died of cancer in 1999. My mom didnt even believe me when I told her, and she had to look it up for herself to believe it. We lost another great comedian, Madeline Kahn will always make me laugh. RIP
Madaline was my favourite comedy actress. Her voice was unique and when she sang it was beuituful. I saw her in all her films as a teenager growing up in the 60, 70, and 80. When I heard the news I cried as I felt like a small part of me had passed away.
Oh Madeline was on Swedish TV in the late 80s or early 90s. I loved it, well her really. Her comic timing was so perfect! Love her voice and ... well thanks for posting!!!
I love Madeline Kahn... she was a class act... and a hard one to follow. When she passed away, I was so sad. She was such a talented, lovely lady. RIP, m'am...
I am a very sad person, I had very few happy moments. One of that moments is when she meets the Frankenstein monster and sings "Oh, sweet mystery of life". I also remember "Yellowbeard" and "The Adventure of Sherlock Holmes Smarter Brother". I´ll miss her so much but I'll stilll remember you with love and laughter
I just have to say i am very happy to see it's not just me that still grieves and misses her-sugar240682- I loved your comment. As for wilder fan, i love your video and the song was perfect. when i first saw this video i CRIED SO HARD mainly because it was so perfect in describing my grief for her being gone but my remembrance of her and looking at her now as my guardian angel. Thank you for this video and thank you Madeline for what you've done for us.
Ok, here goes. Madeline, I discovered you when I visited my ex-fiance's family in America. I had never been to America before, and watching you over the Christmas holiday - I discovered the most beautiful, most funny and talented actress. My partner and I were in the middle of breaking up, but we tried to keep it together, and for a few days, you kept us together through our laughter. Thank you for allowing me revisit those amazing feelings whenever I watch you. THANK YOU. May you rest in peace.
I never heard of her until my dad made me watch blazing saddles...and about two minutes into the "I"m Tired" song she sung i was on the floor laughing. such a talented person and very underrated! We need more Madeline Kahn type people in the world!!!
She was amazing. I also feel bad for her husband, imagine marrying someone then they die of cancer less than 2 months later. I love Madeline Kahn so much. My, why must the great die young? Madeline, we will miss you. May you rest in peace. Watching this made me pull out Clue and watch it over and over. She was amazing and made me laugh so much and so hard. R.I.P. December 1999
R.I.P. Madleine, you were so funny,I wish you never had to deal with cancer,I know it can be a son of a bitch and painful to live by,I've never had it,But I feel sorry for you old girl, wish you were still around in new movies and tv shows and still making us laugh hard, god bless your sweet soul and may you sleep without pain.We miss you!So sad she passed away only 10 year agos.
You're letting your personal views of Robbie Williams get the best of you. The song is beautiful and is a great tribute to Madeline Kahn. Stop being such a cunt. The world would be a better place without you!
