@DecoyRunner i think you are talking about the Nimbochromis venustus. The green terror looking one is a Salvini. All the fish were mentioned in the description of the video.
@Slatanicgods I thought about getting a 125 but I could find a 180 for about the same price and with the space I had, why not get the bigger one. My fish are gonna love it :P
@dzzyfish lmao, if you were refering to the pacu, a 75 wont be enough. For all the rest, this tank is fine. btw, the video is almost 2 years old. The pacu was sold a couple weeks after this video.
howd you maintain the color of your cichlid?...my waters fine, but all my cichlids (peacocks) there color fades after like 3 months and they turn to the washed out brown color...there still healthy swimmin happy, but there color fades terribely.
wat kinda gravel do you use? u can get cichlid gravel from a petstore and it sometimes helps. wat food do you feed them? try some salwater pellets with spirulina. they color up cichlids very fast.
@madpoetic5228 some times fish colors change due to there situation like if the tank is too small or not the right food type or the water quality like ph level isnt good for them then they change color but if you fix those there color would go back up
55 g's! thats what i need! even my ID Shark would have space to avoid the cichlids. as long as there is fin room, they mix ok. the only other option is to seperate them in various tanks as i do out of necessity.
thanks alot for the coment. yea im not a big fan of pacu. also i have recently changed it to all brown gravel with lava rock, large stones and drift wood peices.
maybe this summer i will trade in the brown gravel for the sand because i have seen some very brilliant tanks with sand and it does make it look alot more natural looking. thanks again. and good luck with the sand!
yea yea i kno...they get pretty huge....like 3 feet. but this is jus for now i have already talked to an aquarium and they have agreed to take once theyr big
i havnt decided yet, sun catfish and black ghost knifes are my most favorites, so maybe a couple of those or maybe some more african cichlids. a pair of firemouth is also on the list. jus have to decide wat to get.
i dont really mind wat they'd have to say because i kno wat i'm doing but, i personally dont think an arowana wud do gud in a 55 much long. i'd maybe get one once i get a 180 gallon or something like tht.
the fish look Bored as hell !

Blood Parrots are slow growers anyways, you can easily keep a couple in a 55 for at least 2 years the most.

I was thinking maybe a lima shovel nose catfish or a Jack Dembsey would look cool in their, even a pair of convicts is cool.
sorryimsogreat2 2 years ago
i'm not a fan of the jack dempsey or the shovelnose but convicts are cool

I'd suggest an arowana, but if you even post a video of one of those in a 55 people will bitch.
