Our toilets AND sinks are connected to the same piping, SO for YEARS I've been pissing in the sink.

All I do is angle my dangle so there is no "splash" in the bowl (after years of doing this, I've perfected the art). When I've finished, I splash a couple of handfuls of water and clean out the sink.

Wonderful idea. How bout this one. Piss in a cup and just pour it in the sink? Seems easier but don't waste all your pee. I hear it's great for the trees and garden.

earth closets are an excellent idea particularly for raw foodists as the diet is clean and medication pretty well non existent however splashes, drips, misses and accidents will be absorbed into the untreated wood surface and will hummmmm, might be worth putting a wood sealant of some description paint or varnish perhaps so that they can be wiped off bravo for the video and the sentiment that created it

i was thinking about making my own composting toilet too!! just because i need a toilet on this side of the house and i can't plumb the poop out. so why not compost it?

and btw check out china's toilets, they are also a hole in the ground, often without doors, so no privacy :s

There are lots of this kind "raw" toilets in Russia, they stink awfully though and it's not fun to use them when weather is freezing outside (usually those toilets are outside of the main buildings). But it's true that it makes great compost: plants are growing huge around these toilets.
