  • LOL! Cute, but seriously. That's not even a panel. That's a 58 or 59 Pickup. Fun idea though & I have loved this song since I was a kid in the 70's. "A" for effort! I will never look at my 58/59 Chevy Pickup's the same way again. =)

  • Hi...love it!

  • would have been way better if it was an actual van

  • its like that movie cars

  • It was released in 1973 but wasn't released as a single until early 1975

  • great song, heard this song on the radio late last night for the first time in years and I really like this song a lot, I would definitely prefer a early/mid 70s Chevy Van for the video though

  • I think it is is funny to see the truck singing. It made me laugh and the music brought back memories. I don't even think when he sang that song, he had a video of a van or no video at all.

  • 6 people have never made love in a Chevy Van

  • i don,t care if it,s a gremlin, GREAT SONG!!!

  • @Mogipbob What a fantastic job! Why change it? I was searching for an old favorite song of mine from my high school years and had an additional treat with your animation.

  • Is that thing related to Christine? It's kinda creepy.

  • LOL

  • 58 or 59 chevy truck...but still funny to watch!...i just sold my 58.....miss her now

  • @Mogipbob HEY BUDDY,GREAT VID.THAT'S A 58 TRUCK I HAVE A 58 HALF TON PANEL VAN OR TRUCK.PEOPLE CALL THEM BOTH.

  • 6 folks don't like your vid, Bob. Isn't that a shame? God bless ya, for postin' it!

  • I can't believe these people criticizing this over the vehicle you chose. Your animation is great! Let's see if THEY can do better.

  • Billboard's #46 song for '75. Sammy hit #5 in Billboard. God bless! Another good animated vid, Bob.

  • Looks like my Grandpa's old Ford...with the sniffles.

  • i like the old looking truck with the new vw bug in the back ground and the video is perfect i love good job

  • i love how all christian ballads from the late 80's up til 10 years ago sounds just like this in the worst way

  • Thats a little creepy. Awesome though :)

  • cool

  • Sort of theme from the movie Cars right?

  • I want a Chevy Van that sings.. Hehe.. Long live good ole' Chevrolet!

  • Love this song and this video is just way to kool..!

  • Great video and very clever but this not a Chevy van. It is a 1958 or 1958 Chevy Panel Truck. Vans did not appear on the market until 1961 with the Corvair Greenbriar van.

  • Great video and very clever but this is a 1958 or 1958 Chevy panel truck. It's not a van. The first vans came out in 1961 with the Corvair greenbriar van.

  • creepy!!!

  • Effin awesome. I love the old pickup, My grandfather had one just like it.THis is perfect. Dont change a thing.

  • This is a Chevy, but more of a panel van, in the Truck class.

Great work tho, i enjoyed your video !

    Jeff

  • This was amazing! Fabulous job. Thanks so much for posting.

  • LOL too funny... great song from MY era the 70's

  • I was maybe -- when this song came out. Too young to drive, wau too shy to flirt much with the guys . I always wanted to be like the cool chicks you'd see in vans with custom paint jobs and waterbeds in the back, and how they always seemed to get the hunks, and always had fun. Other kids wanted to be doctors when they grew up. I wanted to be a cool lady with a Chevy van.

Life in the 70's was such a wonderful time, greatest music of any generation, perfectly exemplified by this great song.

  • Whenever I turn on this song, it always reminds me of the time I borrow a Chevy Van from my ex boss (Jack) to pick up my relatives from out of town and drove them around to see all these tourist spots in California. I was having fun cruising in this van - what a happy time it was.

  • this appears to be a chevy delivery VAN although not concurrent to age of song as the artist producing this awesome video has already stated!!!! awesome none the less!!!!!!!!

  • this video is so cute and funny. my parents and all like it. i added it to my favs.

  • This was a hit in '72 -not the mid-70's..

  • I LOOOVE this song! Incredible memories of 1975! What fabulous music! What an awesome year! Sammy's only Top 40 hit. He later confessed that at the time he wrote this song, he actually owned a Ford Econoline van, but the phrase "Chevy Van" fit the lyrics better. Released Jan. 18, 1975, peaked at #5 on May 3. Those were the days! Yeah, please replace it with a true Chevy van. Thank you!

  • I can send you pictures of my 1975 Chevy Van if that would help make it right.

  • CARaoke!

  • Sorry, but that is a 1958 Apache Panel Truck. The first GM van was the Corvair-based Chevrolet Greenbrier van, or CorVan introduced for 1961, which used a flat-6 opposed rear engine w/air cooling, inspired by the VW bus. The Chevy Greenbrier ended after the 1964 model year. The true Chevy Van refers to the 1st Chevy G-Series vans G-10 1/2 ton years 1964-1966. It had the dog house between the seat like the traditional van, and was made to compete with the Ford Econoline and the Dodge A-100.

  • i love this song!!! awesome video man thanks

  • I LOVE THIS SONG... Not sure about the "CARS" impression but the song is great!!

  • awesome!

  • I love this song and your video is so funny I had to sign up for a youtube account just to I could comment on it and tell you how awesome I think it is!

  • Great job on the video! Ignore the naysayers. Peace

  • I'm a girl, and I karaoke this song. Everyone LOVES It! Great song!

  • easy living in altoona pa in the 70s

  • I don't care if its a van or a truck I can't get enough of this video its great, my kids think its good too, my son just loves the singing vehicle, thanx for this

  • have you ever done a vid using a late 70's Chevy caprice classic, 90's Bonnieville, Accord, early 70's Nova, jeep, or 90's Lumina?

Would love to see one of these singing :)

  • LMAO = ]

  • I may be wrong but I believe that the front end of that year chevy van and truck are identical, if so then you really wouldnt be able to tell what it was without seeing the driver and or passenger side of it

  • Wow!

I did maybe 5-6 hit's of CID in 85 and I could have sworn

    that the car was singin'...

  • um that is not a van thats a truck ... No, its a Van... one of the first ones... looks more like a Suburban without windows...

  • Actually, mobilmedic. it entered the Billboard hot 100 on Feb. 1st of '75. I've got the chart to prove it HIt #5 in Billboard. God bless!

  • This is back when artists actually alluded to teenage "relations" rather than shoving it down our throats with derrogatory, raw lyrics.

  • if u think this sounds good u should hear some shit he's workin on now

  • An excellent hit to refer to when it comes to 1975. Disco music was coming onto the top40 charts and this song was in the top 5 on American Top 40, I listened to it on Sunday morning from Seattle. To see that Van a singing reminds me of a young couple going at it somewhere off the beaten track. Along with all the moans and groans I can hear this song over their radio...and no I'm not that guy and never was, it's sad to say. thx4 postin'

  • cool video

  • um that is not a van thats a truck

  • Acually this song came out in '73, not' 75

  • "'cause like a princes she was laying there, pulling down my underwear. We got up, she took me by the hand, we had whoopi in my Chevy Van and that was alright with me.

  • vantastic!

  • i need a chevy van now

  • awsome !!!!

  • I lived through it and some of the best music that ever was came from that era!

  • Great song and tribute to the good old Chevy Van

  • you are one stupid son of a bitch if you think this song is retarded what do you listen to rap dude name one rapper or one 80s band that is still playing to this day the 70s rule you stupid ass

  • @Cece248 haha no I like the song, I just thought the truck singing was wierd.

  • Thank you for saying exactly what I think! ;)

  • Love this song!!! The video was pretty cool watching while we chilled. Loved it!!!

  • i bet if you were stoned watching this you would be freaking out.i love this song by by the way.

  • Dude - your killing my buzz!!!!!!!!!

  • sorry lol

  • what happened to the FAVORITE button ?????

  • This is such a cool video! This song made me start a search for hit's of this era. Good times :)

  • Great job on the video, and thanks for posting the song.

  • good job making this video. chevy van, beautiful music, beautiful car.

  • sammy john is the shiznit haha its awsome

  • "And that's alright with me!" :)

  • Comment removed

  • That is a GREAT video. Thank you!

  • Lets make it clear so there's no misunderstanding!!! Before they were called vans-they were called panel trucks as my dad used to own one!!

  • Just to be technical - the song, Chevy Van was a hit in 1975 :) I tried and tried to find a good mid 70s Chevy van to animate and had to settle on this older model - which could work as the singer was probably young and could not afford a new van.... Either way, thanks for watching and commenting!

    Mogipbob

  • @Mogipbob It's a truck, Look at the back window - The panel vans had barn doors. Love the song.

  • @Mogipbob this IS a van? looks like either their suburban carryall or a truck ( but a bit long for a truck though)

  • and may I have a better vocabulary next time I post!..hehe jimbo

  • you are right virtual....a small amount of authenticity would have occured if a early 70`s van was used in this video...none theeee less...what a great song and a nice video...congrats buddy....may Anerica soon realize we have lost our course...smile

  • wow..what memories!

  • Comment removed

  • Maybe I'm behind times but I have never seen this type of animation used in this way. I LOVE IT!!!

  • very cool

  • I love it. Great job.

  • Very well made!! Thanks for sharing.

  • That's funny, but with all the work that went into this you really should have used a real Chevy van.

  • This IS a Chevy van :)

  • 70's rule.

  • Man, my truck doesn't know any songs at all!

  • My truck does a killer version of "Can't Drive 55" by Sammy but that's it.

  • For those who don't get it; this is a 56 Chevy Panel Van; the precursor to what we now call vans; panels like this were made until at least 1966.....

  • LOL too funny

  • better days for sure.

we were not a police state.

we didnt have a socialist narcissist president from Kenya.

the kids were not drugged on ritalin and prozac.

  • LOL!! Very good!!

  • Thats not a van, thats a truck and "WHERES THE CHIC"

  • TOW-MA-TER :-D

  • sweet

  • That's funny... Where's the girl?

  • What ever happened to that "chainsaw" version ... man, that was hilarious ... GREAT song.

  • Looks more like a chevy truck.

  • That's alright with me :)

  • that is soo awesome u should do this with the song pick up man

  • what program did you use to make this video, I like it

    thanks

  • That would actually be a chevy panel truck which is a van and a truck

  • Oh my gosh...the memories...(sigh)...summer days, full of energy.

  • a thats a truck not a van

  • its an old saburbon close to a van but i think the song is intended for the rape van body style

  • I gave a girl a ride in my wagon

She crawled in and took control

She was tired as her mind was draggin'

I said get some sleep and dream of rock and roll

    (Chorus)

'Cause like a picture she was laying there

    Moonlight dancing off her hair

She woke up and took me by the hand

She's gonna love me in my Chevy van

And that's all right with me

  • Her young face was like that of an angel

Her long legs were tanned and brown

Better keep your eyes on the road, son

    Better slow this vehicle down

I put her out in a town that was so small

You could throw a rock from end to end

A dirt road main street, she walked off in bare feet

    It's a shame I won't be passin' through again

  • Good one

  • I absolutely LOVED this, thank you!

  • great great great great

  • Just absolutely WONDERFUL! I LOVED IT and this song is amazingly classic! One of my faves! I Vlogged ur vid!
