@JXJ1326 WOW! You actually CAN be sure that someone is saved? HOW? People put on fronts every day- look at Madonna draped in crosses ("Like a virgin" yeah right!) The only one who knows you are saved is Jesus, is HE in your heart? The Cross only symbolizes what He has done, it's everything! it was Hell! It's our ticket to Heaven,it's our Salvation,it's our Promise,it's our King! I now ASK people "What's that Cross for?" most people barely know what to say! But it spreads the Gospel! As intended!

My wife isn't that up on the gospel or anything, but she wears a cross! But because she's my wife she is saved, and doesn't need to know the weight of the cross- Noah was the only righteous man left- But God said "Bring your family!" Any family member under the blood over their door was safe from the Egyptian plague (Creeping Death) Gramps reading the Torah- or Sister mending a shirt, they were all safe under the CROSS of Blood! God saves family's -even if they like wearing crosses.

I drive over a hill in a new town, the first thing I look for is a cross in the air- there's where I need to be- With Jesus!

The churches I find that take offense to it are usually at a deeper level than most Christians. But to look at my wife's necklace and say it's a sin for her to wear it is silly!

Satan used the cross for evil- but God changed it to be His International Symbol! It's perfect for it's purpose+ seemed to help in your "lost" early Christianity- so why harp on others use of it.

I grew up Catholic and was never told there was a such thing as a personal relationship with God. I thought I believed in God because I believed he existed but I lived a life of fornication, of alcoholism. It wasn't till my life was an absolute mess I turned to him for real. I looked up at heaven and asked him what do you want from me. He answered in an audible voice and told me to repent. Why audible? Because there was no sheppards in my life to tell me the truth so he worked salvation for me!

Why do you people act as though somehow by being "offensive" it makes it righteous, and you righteous, because you can handle the "true message" ? Maybe your cross is just offensive because people SHOULD be offended to be told they were created to go to an eternal torture chamber while you were created to laugh while people were burning. Maybe your cross isn't a cross at all, it's just a pile of dung and it's offensive because of how filthy it is. Maybe you should be less offensive.

its not that we ourselves want to be offensive. if we had it our way we would tell you what you wanted to hear, but this offensive message has broken us. its not that we can candle it, its that this message has shattered us. and we have been shattered so that Christ could build us in his joy and because of this, this message that is an offense is now a great joy. i pray for you. the first century mockers called the cross foolishness as well. and then Christ got a hold of them

Oh gee, I'm a mocker now because I think the idea that you were predestinated to go to heaven (which effectively makes the rest of us, who aren't 5-point calvinists or whatever brand of religion you espouse, worthless garbage, predestinated for hell) is a bad one? i did not try to claim what you are. you called the cross of christ a pile of dung. is that not mocking? christianity is chrisiocentric and christ life was all about the cross. christianity and the cross can not be separated in meaning. i did not make any claims on predestination so your response on that issue was out of place.

This is a calvinist channel, so I'm assuming that you belong to a calvinistic form of Christianity and that seems to be a reasonable assumption.

calvinist or not was not the issue. i hold to the truth found in jesus christ. instead of having a minor disagreement with the issue of predestination, which im assuming you havent studied enough to refute it among all men, just as i havent studied it enough to approve it among all men, why dont you take issue with Jesus Christ who died as a savior and rose and now sits at the right hand of his father as the lord over everything.

see. you deal with Christ. you come back at me as if i am worth anything at all. all worth is found in christ. you wont deal with christ. and how are you gonna tell God what he has ordained for who. i deserved nothing but the hatred of a good and holy God. and Christ changed everthing. its not that God puts some in the hell pile and some in the heaven pile. its that were all in the hell, wrath deserving pile, and through the suffering of God himself, we are reconciled into the kingdom of God.
