  • @falang78 I'm glad you can see it from a different perspective. As for the the reason for the comments I have to say being half-drunk is no excuse. How can you be judgmental and be only half-drunk? I recommend at least 87%. All jokes aside I think there are greater ways to deal with your own turmoil... I've ended mine, and you should find a permanent way as well.

  • one of the best movie i've ever seen !!

  • @paulbunyan101 it's just the trailer:)

  • It actually makes me extremely sad after reading this book and seeing this movie, that I will never get to meet this truly inspirational man. Christopher McCandless had a big impact on my life and I hope his story has touched others as much as it has me.

  • GOAL

  • Comment removed

  • i want to do this one day.

  • fucking amazing

  • Ultimate Freedom...

  • I finished the book last week and never thought of looking for the trailer until now. I'm pretty disappointed that it looks like a comedy in some scenes since Vince Vaughn plays Wayne (which I don't think anyone pictured Wayne as). I'm going to watch it tho and hopefully it's just the trailer and not the whole movie.

  • Read the book, now I want to see the movie. Chris's whole story brought me to tears and really inspired me... no words.

  • The movie makes it seem so much happier than the book haha the book gives me a very haunting feeling when I read it

  • Where can you get it

  • @tropicboom22 get what?

  • which is why i want to go to alaska

  • @FamousUtuber yeah, but then you watch " The Fourth Kind" movie and realize you shoudnt... :)

  • i started crying when I heard the Breaking Dawn part1 trailer music.

  • @falang78 You must really like replying to comments. Also not to sound like a hippy or anything but some people (this would be you) can't understand the reasoning of people like your so called anti-hero. He had the wanderers itch, there's nothing wrong with that. Live a little.

  • @WildGamings

You are absolutely right about your thoughts on me and may be right on your opinion of Chris. The interior lives of people are much too complex for others to understand or judge. I'm sorry for all the replies. I was in a half-drunk, inspirational/judgmental mood. This tale means a lot to me as I have been living overseas and separated from my family for 10+ years. Perhaps my comments here are my therapy for my interior struggles that I'm dealing with.

  • @falang78 perhaps your to full of yourself.

  • this movie is so moving and very inspirational!

  • I have just finished reading the book and couldn't put it down. All of life is there and is lived intensely by this young man. The overall sense for me is of both the beauty he saw around him in the wild and the terrible sense of tragedy for those he touched and left behind. This is what it means to live in this world.

  • i watched into the wild the other night and it is such an amazing film! but it is so thought provoking and intense that it made me feel dizzy, confused and sad. it kind of scared me and it upset me more than any horror film I've watched. i just couldn't go to sleep after that. but it is indeed a fantastic and beautiful film!

  • I think this is the best movie trailer I have ever seen.

  • 1:25 Same music as Breaking Dawn Trailer (:

  • A really gut-wrenching film

  • I will make this easy for everyone who is thinking of seeing this movie:

Best Movie I Have Ever Seen!

    Just see it!

  • One of the most phenomenal, moving, inspiring films I have ever seen.

  • One of the best movies I've seen.

  • @xXLillyPillyXx: Acts of courage, by X Ray Dog :)

  • whats the name of the song at the end?

  • a bad remake!

  • I'ts strange, i just listened to the soundtrack for this movie, yet when i see the trailer the two don't really go hand in hand. The soundtrack made it sound so peaceful, like into the wild, one with nature, money isn't everything that sort of thing. but this is so different.

  • The music in this at 1:30 onwards was used in the breaking dawn teaser trailer :)

  • forget everything you know about kristen stewart. I did not recognize that this girl is the famous actor of this vampire movie at the first time. But I really like the role she plays in this piece of art. Into the wild is a great movie especially for individual viewers. Very deep and without that nonsense you see in all day movies. I also bought the book which reveals even more beauty of this fantastic "story"!

  • If you think that there is a little Christopher McCandless in all of us give this a thumbs up.

  • this is so fucking stupid

i can't believe im forced to read the book in language arts

  • @sue741852 Go fuck your mothers rotting cunt, you need to look inside your soul.

  • @FamousUtuber okay you little shit who the fuck do you think you are!? Jon Krakauer? ur book shoot up to be new york time best seller cuz the school system forced millions of kids to buy this shit

  • @sue741852 It's a shame, as a tax payer, I'm paying to help educate little kids like you.

  • @Auzea im don't having anything against the tax payers, i was talking about the school system.

  • @sue741852

Learn from his mistakes. Took me ten years to do so. Not all central protagonists are heroes. Feel blessed that you're reading contemporary non-fiction and not forced to study, The Outsiders.

  • I use to be like him, then I took a arrow to the knee

  • @MrFedai99 So much originality. Mind-blowing.

  • @Auzea I like you, your comments are witty!

  • Didn't imagine in my head McCandless to look like that at all

  • @DennyCraneReloaded yea i too love these kinda movies

especially "way back" = chanceless GRT MOVIE :D

  • This movie is possibly the worst one I've ever seen. And this is coming from an Anarcho-Primitivist.

It's more or less some teenager that wants to rebel, hangs out in the wild (doesn't build his own shelter, but occupies a fucking deserted bus) and then dies because he eats a poisonous berry.

  • @gortijx he may not have been the best survivalist, but he portrays courage that most people fail to possess, I admire that, don't you?

  • @GeneralAnarchoCommie

No. Richard Proenneke was a naturalist as well. In fact, he spent 30 years in the Alaskan wilderness and built his own cabin - by hand. Where's his movie?

What courage is there, by the way? Are you saying that nature is something different from us, that requires "courage" to take part of?

That's just silly. We are nature, and all our artificial boundaries will come to a stop one day, and we will have to realize that.

  • @GeneralAnarchoCommie

Running from your problems is courage?

  • @falang78 you just have to watch the movie... ;-)

  • @SoyDeColorAzul

I watched the movie several times and read the book even more. I, like many of us, idolized Chris - a free spirit lusting to escape societal expectations. But 10+ years after reading the book, I realized that Chris reflected the worst in me. He was a mirror of my self-pity. I always felt that people misunderstood me. My heart and intentions were pure in my mind but I finally realized only my actions truly reveal who I am. What did his actions reveal to us?

  • @falang78

His actions clearly show that he was young, stubborn, resentful and incapable of forgiving. I know I said this early. His family are the victims and heroes of this tragedy. They were flawed but never wavered in their love for him. They buried a child that loathed them without any ability for empathy. They will suffer infinitely for his immaturity and incapacity for forgiveness. They buried a child much too young. For what? Decade old parental infidelity? Tragic.

  • But maybe I'm completely wrong. Perhaps his childhood was more traumatic than the book and film portrayed. Perhaps his parents' relationship was violent or psychologically toxic to their children. Perhaps he didn't cowardly run away; perhaps he escaped with his sanity still intact. Ultimately, his journey has surely sparked numerous conversations and debates among many - and these dialogues may have enlightened and inspired others to make a change. It certainly did for me.

  • @falang78 sometimes it takes courage to walk away.

  • @gortijx Obviously, you are a very narrow minded person. Alexander Supertramp has touched and inspired thousands of people- something you will never achieve with your attitude. He has made that *click* in people's minds, to follow their dreams- whether it to be to travel, for a job, or to simply hitch-hike to an unknown destination. When he died, he died very happily. And for the record, he didn't die from poisonous berries. He died from starvation.

  • @DanceLukeDancee

Far from. I just think it's silly that this arrogant clown gets a movie and book made after him when he's done NOTHING special except died, like a fool, in the wild. A lot of kids around the early 90's did exactly what he did. The reason he's so special? He died.

Do you mean to tell me that Proenneke, for example, never followed his dream? If so, you're the narrow minded one.

For the record, you should stop judging people from comments on a Youtube video.

  • @gortijx I can see that you are a fucking boring man, he is dead you should have more respect, this is a great story, he simply had a different point of view of life

  • @agusigna68

So what if he's dead? A lot of people are dead, and I'm not exactly making fun of him for being dead. Many sources said he was arrogant, and Alaskans do consider him a foolish clown - for dying when he could have done so much to avoid it.

It's a great STORY, yeah. Sadly, it's falsely portrayed by Hollywood and his family to make kids like you inspired and teary-eyed.

There's nothing different with his view of life, he's not the first person to bash civilization.

  • @gortijx The reason he ends up in the position he does by the end of the film is because of of his naivety and his inexperience, and they make no attempt at hiding that fact. But it's not the crux of the film. What is the crux of the film are the characters.

That's why it's a character study and not a survival guide.

  • @gortijx

That is the end, but the what is the cause? Youthful delusion? Inexperience? I say it was overconfident stubbornness and an obvious adolescent incapacity for forgiveness of his parents or, a genetic defect, wired towards selfishness and vanity.

  • he kinda reminds me of leonardo di caprio:)

  • it looked really good until i saw kristen stewart

  • @ChicagoCubsGirl1 i agree that kristen stewart should not have been in this film but i strongly recommend that u see this film its very good and stewart isn't in it that long thank god.

  • @ChicagoCubsGirl1 only for few mins though...

  • @ChicagoCubsGirl1 is that meant to be a rude comment about her? cos if it is i think shes an amazing actress and phenomonel but if its not soz

  • @ChicagoCubsGirl1 But you know, Kristen acts really good in this movie,, you should watch the movie Speak, when she really shows herself like an actress

  • @ChicagoCubsGirl1 i thought so too but then i saw the film.... it's good...and shes only in t for like 15 minutes anyway so its a win :)

  • I love movies which try to make the viewer to think and questioning something. This is defenitley one of those movies. If you liked Into the wild, i recommend watching "The Road", "I am Legend" and especially "The Way Back". Also these are not so embellishing.

  • YES PEOPLE CHRISTOPHER JOHN MCCANDLES DIED

  • Did he dead?

  • fav movie period

  • did he died

  • @imilkdude yes he died , btw this is true story .

  • @EmirJF aw.

  • great movie. great music from eddie vedder as well.

  • lool miau wer will camen

  • Chiefksam, Arron Ralston is a stupid shit who tried to push it solo and got over his head. Fuck him for making a terrible film about his lack of common sense, basic exploitation. This film, just like the book is not accurate. Touching the Void is way better. So fuck you I am no pussy I am a realist, people like you are the reason that there terrible problems in this world.

  • @theartofdirtbag touching the void isn't that good mind

  • 239 people dont enjoy the beauty in life they perfer to live inside and work in an office building

  • ha mein hintern ist geil

  • I wonder if in twenty years they will make fo-documentaries about the cast from jackass? Same shit different day, well done hollywood, way to exploit my state. Fuck you Sean Penn, get a job working for NOLS you goddamn hippy. And fuck Arron Ralston too.

ولا عملو هيك مشان يعملو دعاية للفلم والناس تشوفو ؟؟؟؟؟

    شو هلمسخرة

  • This movie did not stick to the truth and is therefore antithetical to what the real Chris actually believed. Some truth still shines through, but in the end the movie is still phony. The book is much better, as is the documentary "Call of the Wild", because the book and the documentary stick almost entirely to the truth.

  • @TheOldBeef It's difficult to say what the 'truth' is, since Chris wandered alone and his journal was only filled with short notes. The movie I think describe some of the things Chris believed in - Krakauer portrays it differently and with more depth to it. I, like yourself, prefer the book but the movie is fantastic aswell.

  • Whether you choose to go live in the wild or modern society it really doesn't matter. I think as long as you have someone you love in this life a partner, family who love you and you love them, or a neighbouring community who care about their fellow neighbours, around you, you can be happy. Wherever you are and with whatever you do. I think these are the essential things. Everything else, money, material goals, or reconnecting with nature just shapes up your experiences.

  • I've been reading a lot of comments and there are so many contrasting views. I've watched this film a few times, hate the ending. But after many conflicting thoughts of my own it all comes down to his parting message 'happiness is only real when shared' so true. I think at the end of the day cheeesy as this sounds the best things in life really are those that are free.

  • Romantics. You're all romantics. Fiction is more soothing.

  • They are those who who don´t care about others opinions and live life as an adventure no matter how risky it is, then they are those, who sit behind a tv , judge , criticize and live a monotonous life.

  • @alexman24893

Those who value the bonds of human connection are aware of the hypocrisy of Chris' journey.

The American pit. Speak for yourself. Most rational beings seek out experience sans death-wish.

  • @hidalgo699

We are responsibile for our social system. I empathize with Americans at the moment - knee deep in a religious show down of religiously absurd republican candidates. I do hope you'll return to your senses. Heck, the USA gave the world most of the technology of the 20th century - but now the repubs want to settle on the ancient words of desert sheep herders as law. We miss the real USA. Not the covert, regime changing USA - the innovating America. (from a Canadian)

  • best movie of all times, this movie has also changed my life and made sure i'm going backpacking.
