Yes, I did actually read the book and I have no doubts that Ed Farons own words in the book helped to convict him. Doesn't matter if he fought or not. He had a yard full of pitbull dogs and was selling or trading some of them. His own words in his book of the fighting matches that took place would be enough to put him away for a very long time. I hate dog fighting myself! But without dog fighters you wouldn't have this breed!!! All bloodlines came from dogfighters EVERYONE!

No your facts are wrong, the first blood lines were bull baiters and boar hunters. Dog fighting didin't start until bull baiting was banned. These are working dogs not fighters. We as humans made them fighters for our own sick and perverse entertainment. While I don't agree with using dogs to hunt, a real dogman would never fight his dog.

I see you have a few dogfighter wannabees here commenting to people who are against dogfighting. I have read Farons book and would have loved to burn it when I was done. I couldn't wait to get it out of my house. He inbred dogs to get maybe one fighter out of a litter. These people should take Farons course and just admit what they are. Dogfighter wanna bees. Ed Faron innocent. Give us a break Jelet. I have read his book and it is the thing of nightmares. Like it says here in this video, Jolene and Sadie. Ed Faron wanted to be a dogmen around the dogmen. He desperately fought dogs with the top dogmen and learned everything he could. In his own words he has fought dogs when it wasn't legal and the stupid fool listed numerous names. As for wanting a faron dog, there would be no way. These dogs were inbred to the point of crazyness. Get a life.

Not other animals no, but human aggresion have been bred OUT of these dogs for hundreds of years, do you no realize the hole time these dogs are being fought they are being handled, if they are human aggresive they are useless!

The Victory dogs are a unique case -- a first ever full scale rescue, assessment, and rehabilitation of former fighting dogs. If not for Judge Hudson ordering that vick pay $975,000 (as part of his plea deal) for their care and rehabilitation, those battle-weary creatures would've been euthanized.
Best Friends received approximately 400,000 dollars for 22 of the 47 most difficult Victory Dogs to rehabilitate, which they have stated won't cover 1/2 the cost of the dogs' lifetime care...

Of the 47 Victory Dogs, 14 went to forever homes, 11 are in foster care, and 22 remain at Best Friends undergoing rehabilitation. 5 are ready for homes, 2 of the 22, Lukas and Meryl, are court-ordered to never leave the sanctuary.
Best Friends, Brandon Bond, BadRap, and the other rescues who gave shelter to the Vicktory dogs are beyond-compassionate souls without whom the world would've otherwise never known that former fighting dogs could live enriching lives.

The pit bull community struggled, however, as a second chance at life was given to the Vicktory Dogs while 3,424 healthy, socialized pit bulls die EVERY day in shelters.
Ultimately, it was imperative to demonstrate that some ex-fighting dogs could make fine companion animals, albeit at the expense of shelter pit bulls who were never given that same opportunity.
In the least, we've established that every pit bull dog, whether a former fighting dog or not, must be individually assessed.

Faron was convicted of dogfighting in 1989, when, incidentally, dogfighting was ILLEGAL; he served 1 year in a NC prison.
Dogfighters and breeders of fighting dogs cleverly disguise and further their criminal activity by forming innocuous-appearing ADBA sanctioned pit bull clubs, pose as anti-BSL groups to fight ANY regulation of commercial dog breeding, position themselves in rescue work and take jobs in high-traffic pit bull shelters to have access to confiscated fighting dogs. I do not dispute that Faron sold his curs to the unsuspecting pit bull dog-loving public.
I contend that he did so with the ulterior motive in mind that when he is busted, not if, he'd present you, Jelet, and others like you, as useful idiots, out there to defend him and his "right" to breed and profit from the exploitation of the pit bull dog.

Faron sold his fighting stock to dogfighters, which is why he is now in prison. The pit bull dogs who did not demonstrate the fight-ability for which they were specifically bred (gameness), did not receive a bullet to the head, but were sold to the public as working and show dogs, and registered with the ADBA. How else was Faron to establish himself as a "legitimate" breeder and mask his criminal activity?

On the contrary, upon release from prison, Faron must behave like a good little boy as he will be on supervised probation for a long time. As part of his plea deal, Faron is prohibited from ever owning, possessing, or caring for any animal.
Since a watchful eye will be kept on Faron and his flunky, don juan cassanova, those "cookouts" in the yard are going to be few.
