@MrTrIcKsHoTs789 I have been using A major for years and years. Like an A blues /pentatonicscale for the leads. The best version of this song is the one from the movie. Note: not the movie soundtrack album, but you have to go to the movie itself, or the youtube clip from the movie for the EXTENDED version with the long hairy solo.
I like to find the version by Clapton on the Tommy Soundtrack. It is much shorter, maybe about 3 minutes long, but has one of the best solos on it I've heard. I used to have it on cassette, but that tape is long gone.
@WolfmanMusic . The one I'd like to hear was the soundtrack and is much different then what is on the movie. It is much shorter and the guitar solo was much better. If I can find the cassette I'll have to post it on youtube. I just hope I'm remembering it right.
I'm not really sure how this doesn't have more views but I think it's pretty sweet. Not only are you wearing a pretty sweet shirt, the cover is pretty awesome. So good job, and I'm sorry that more people haven't seen this.
sorry dude, I do it by ear, but make sure you check out the original Tommy version, the soundtrack Tommy version, and the actual movie itself has an extended version, very extended (different from the soundtrack, actually.)
Its in Am not A. A very tricky riff to play...

Clapton plays this song (24 minutes +) on his Crossroads 2 box set , and keeps you interested...Highly recommended!

The song isn't originally the Who, it's Sonny Boy Williamson. Nice cover though.. very enjoyable.
