Please excuse my screen name but you did what alot people couldn't do, I give all respect to you,you gave all you can for this country.I thank you for this SEMPER FI OORAH
Marine Gunnery Sergeant Gilbert gave everything to ensure the peace of this great Untied States of America, he follows generations of men and women who voluntarily put on the uniform of the United States military, Gunny Gilbert will not be forgotten by those in uniform. Thank You GySgt Gilbert for your service and sacrifice to this great nation, and may you rest in peace in the presence of God himself. SSgt. Miller - Veteran
Richland22 I couldn't agree more with your statement, regardless of military branch, police department, sheriff's office, fire department, all who serve are Heroes, and deserve the respect they've earned. These men and women endure loneliness while away, endure even death to do a job most think is not doable by themselves. SSgt. Miller - Veteran
In the end, it doesn't matter Army, Navy, Air Force or the Marines, we all need to stop and thank the Vets all over this great nation and their families for the sacrifice of life. We all have a duty to thank the ones who put their lives on the line for this great country, whether or not in peace time or war time. Our leaders do sometimes make mistakes, but we need to stand behind them right or wrong. Thank you Gilbert family for this posting, made the good Lord be with you in your daily walk.
dear, sgt GILBERT, please accept my sincere thanks for the honor you have given me and america.i can only hope when GOD takes me i will have the honor to meet you, this country has been good to me, because of you.my father has always been my hero, along with ST.THOMAS MORE, now i have a 3rd,when i knell and say my prayers everynite, i hope you will do me the honor of hearing them. i love you. bill lange
You can line up all the police cars and motorcylce you can find. I thank you for the effort! Know that any Marine that achieves the rank of Gunny will leave a mark that is so wide and deep in life you'll never see the sides or feel the bottom The streets of heaven are guarded by United States Marine!!!!!
As I rode in honor of GSgt Gilbert yesterday I was moved to tears but needed to keep it together. As much for the Gunny as well as for the folks from the whole spectrum of Americana that lined the roads. Such sadness, honor and respect. God bless GSgt. Glibert and his family.

It's the Soldier, not the reporter who has given us the freedom of the press.
It's the Soldier, not the poet, who has given us the freedom of speech.
It's the soldier, not the politicians that ensures our right to Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness.
It's the Soldier who salutes the flag, who serves beneath the flag, and whose coffin is draped by the flag.
