Considering they are both black belts I can't say that I saw any clearly scoring techniques in this fight - I although I would have to assume that the last kick scored as the camera is on the wrong side to judge it.
I'm a EKKA ref studying for England ref. I would like to say we are not cheats, our head ref is billy brennon WKF karate ref (ref A kumite & judge A Kata) below him is a European Ref, then 2 British, then an England ref!! ok yes brandon's 2 round kicks were in and maybe should have scored. & i'm not sure how the EKKA boy scored 2 points. But as i wasn't on the mat & i have a feeling none of you are England ref's or above it's hard to comment as we cannot see what the ref see!!
Sorry but you dont need to be a WKF, Euro or Eng Ref to see who won. Yes the ref can miss scoring techniques but thats the reason there should be a shadow ref + what is it with the guy in the blazer? Hes obviously agitated by something happening on the mat, calls the ref over, has a quiet word, then low & behold Brandon loses! I do know what I am talking about having competed & Ref'd Locally, Nationally and Internationally. Theres something not right with the outcome of Brandons fight!
Good clear scoring techniques from Brandon. Good use of the side kick in particular, the other lad couldn't get near him. He fought well and should be proud.
Brandon (in white) studies Wado Ryu, has done for over 8 years, he's now 12 years old. The boy in the blue is Korean Karate from EKKA. EKKA organise and run these 'open' competitions!
