This was the best action adventure for kids...long before Star Wars. I remember watch the US adapted film on KTLA channel 5. It was hosted by 'popeye' animator Tom Hatten. You really can't get kid tv like that any more. It's all cgi and disneyated.
People who talk crap about this have forgot what it was like to be a kid growing up!! In the 70s this was the shit! How could you not love giant robot? These guys are having fun and remeber what its like to be a kid.if you dont like it dont watch!!
Pls give giant robot Sentience. He deserves to think for himself especially in today's modern age of AIs and mega super computers and high speed neural nets
Just include Isaac Asimov's 3 laws or similar protocols.
Giant Robot needs to start thinking for himself. It's time to cut the apron strings and pursue a career... maybe as an insurance salesman or Walmart greeter.
The clips on this looks hot..cant wait for the Re-release of the official DVD coming in the near months..check out my page and view my video for the link..tks for sharing :)
Sadly, it's been found that the guy who played Johnny Sokko (Mitsunobu Kaneko) was killed in a car accident in Japan sometime in the 90's. He was in his late 30's or early 40's. This was a fun show though-giant robots, monsters, Japanese terrorists who looked like Castro rejects, and a kid who packed a gun.
Add to it all that great 60's era Cold War chicanery! Giant Robot was the ticket!
