  • thanks for the tip.. yesterday i just did my first chocolate cake.. i found it difficult to put on the frosting because the icing was so messy & all over the place.. i remembered crumbcoating.. i chill the cake & review this video.. :D my family was so glad- the result was a success. thank u very much

  • That was amamzing... but how come my frosting is never as flexible as hers? It's a little more stiff. I've tried mixing it but it still doesn't do much. Is there anything I can do to help with this problem?

    There a re different types of frosting. There is one that is kind of thick and one that is whipped that's more soft. They are both from Betty Crockers kitchen!

  • @countingallthings92 well if you make homemade frosting you may need to beat it a little more but if you buy the frosting and it is still stiff beat it a little or try a different frosting or melt it for like 5 seconds in the microwave

  • @freder12341 depends on what type you want, but the basic recipe is, powdered sugar (icing sugar,confectionery sugar) butter, cream cheese and vanilla some people use half butter and half shortening to get a more white colour but its a little unhealthier

  • @73philyprincess no u don't,it don't really matter if the crumbs comes off anyway cause your just gonna eat it not keep it stunning . I recommend just add 1layer of frosting not this so much frosting ...

  • is it possible to crumb coat in white but then on your final coat do it in a different colour

  • yes but keep your crumb coat thin so you can add more of the colour so the white doesnt show

  • @CitrusYY or u can crumb coat in the final color u will be doing. i saw her do that on other cake demonstration. like the dinosaur. she did her first layer in green then the final layer in green ! hope that answers ur question :)

  • I've done it many times. The point is that the coat will harden anyway in the fridge, so it doesn't matter what color your final icing is. I've done a white crumb coat, but then then a pink final icing and when the cake was done and cut it had this cute white lining. It was a for a V-Dday cake so that's what I was going for. :)

  • @CitrusYY you could but they might mix. you'd have to completely freeze the crumb coat so that the icing is solid and freeze it again regularly

  • To make it even more personal and special is to make your own icing. Just mix icing sugar with warm water, keep stirring and stirring until it gets thick!

  • you don't want to use icing, you want frosting. and that is powdered sugar, butter or some type of fat such as sweetex. the flavorings are limitless!!! message me personally if you want the specific recipe, but the recipe i have is for my work which makes it by about 40lb batches lol
