Monica's last name is pronounced RAY-NAY-GULL. Her NutritionData web site is amazing and I've interviewed her on my podcast show before. She herself has a HIGHLY successful podcast herself on iTunes called Nutrition Diva. GREAT TO SEE YOU BACK, Cameo!
To make the insinuation that not going on a low carb diet caused a woman's death is the height of intellectual dishonesty at best and outright propaganda at worst. MANY factors contribute to heart disease and while inflammation is a serious issue in relation to CRP scores, a low carb diet is not a sure fire way to gain or regain one's health in and of itself.
Remember the saturated fat is pro-inflammatory and while moderate amounts are fine, excessive amounts defeat the purpose of low carb.
I agree that one thing doesn't necessarily equate the other. My point is that even mainstream medicine is slowly coming around to the fact that what they've always done isn't necessarily what we should continue to do.
I am glad to have you watching & good natured conversation is always welcome! It's how we learn from each other. :)
I was surprised to hear of a cardiologist recommend low carb as well. I'm curious as to what his definition of low carb is and if he was referring to refined carbs rather than whole food carbs (starchy ones that don't impact blood sugar as much).
I don't eat low carb myself but I've always enjoyed your videos. Keep up the good work :-)
I love this video so much! From somebody who suffers from chronic inflammation, this is a life-saver! I'm like you... I'd rather change the fuel I put into my body instead of giving myself some pills.
Good video! I look forward to part 2. It goes to what we've always known - LC is good not only for the weight loss it promotes, but for health reasons as well.
