French and Japanese horror movies are the best.

Saw cannot be compared to this movie. Sorry, but this movie was just amazing. I guess the tortures are equally gruesome but this plot stood out more. Idk, that's just me.

Finding entertainment in the fantasy of torturing people ... is unhealthy for individuals and society. It's akin to the (ironically) anti-spiritual "hell" concept that many religions hold to;wherein people look forward to seeing their enemies tortured without mercy; for offending the personal convictions of the (self-declared) "righteous".

I disagree. People are attracted to these things, becuz it works out the "darker desires" within them. Just an artist uses their talents to portray their "inner darkness", these movies give people a vent. To some, yes, it may seem twisted in itself, but in truth, it may just be for the better. The people who go to these movies aren't the ones going out and torturing. They have no need. Theses movies don't create psychopaths, or serial killers. They are just that: Movies.
