  • This home oprate with Solar pannels and electric car charger in Garage

  • an intellectual correctly identifying the obvious as usual - thanks Edward ...

  • the only reason I like the volt over the leaf is its made in the U.S. But now the focus is here . Plus its full Ev and cheaper then the volt. Sorry Gm.

  • Cheap shot at the Nissan Leaf Ford marketers. I can test drive a Leaf, I can't however test drive vague references to butterflies and carbon-hysterical folks who "get it".

  • Regardless of the partnership with Best Buy, please know that you should use a licensed electrical contrator to install your charging station. This way you are guaranteed a quaility and reliable installation. Also, by using an IBEW/NECA contractor, you will have the assurance of a +5 warranty. This means, you will have the standard 1 year warranty, plus another 5 years added to that! Please use electricity responsibly!

  • As the Sustainability Coordinator for LOGIC, a small committee of some amazing people shaping education in Manteca Unified School District, I am pleased to see Mr. Begley in support of Ford. Big Valley Ford has been a huge supporter of Planet Party Day (informing over 2,000 6th grade students) in our District. Just recently, Mr. Begley was in our school district supporting the launch of Education and the Environment Curriculum! Clearly, the partnership of Ford and Ed Begley, Jr. Is more than ju

  • I hope people are smart enough to hire and to check that the charger is being installed by a licensed electrician not a computer geek. And union electrical contractors give a 5 year warranty on workmanship and they are trained and licensed.

  • Butterflies in my fuel gauge, really? That's a pretty big turn-off for me... other than that, I'm all for EVs. I've even got an electric truck at home.

  • @SteveCiciora And what kind of clever indicator would you use?

  • @1vdn992 My truck has a cruising equipment E-Meter which I like very much. It keeps track of the current state of charge of the pack in amp-hours and watt-hours. Using Peukert's coefficients it can estimate how many minutes the pack will last based on the previous (user selectable) time period. Might be a bit technical for the average non-nerd user, but it shouldn't be too hard to emulate a gas gauge giving the driver a relative distance still available. Just my personal preference...

  • What about the Ford Ranger EV, a completely useable and competent EV using lead/acid batteries? Seems to me Ford had it right a very long time ago and just sat on it....

  • What happened to the "green" Ford Escape advertised with Kermit the Frog?

  • How can I "go to Ford" for my EV needs when they don't have any EV products on the market? Nissan and GM have products now. Ford is behind in the game. However, despite that, I hope the best for Ford and hope to see some great EV products. I saw the Focus EV at a car show recently and wasn't that impressed. The dashboard even looked like it was from the 1970's. The Leaf and Volt felt so much more high-tech inside.

  • 8 hours to charge, Quote from Nissan - Once out in the real world, Nissan expects most Leaf charging to be done using Level 2 (240V) units, because that's what most people will get at home and what will be used in public chargers. Level 2 chargers can get the pack from zero to 100 percent in about eight hours. Level 3/direct quick charging could happen, but it's not widely available yet. Meanwhile, Level 1, aka recharging from a standard 110V outlet, will be "more for emergencies,"

  • Doesn't he drive a Prius and RAV-EV? Let's embrace all electric cars rather than picking sides. I am tired of all the Leaf/Volt/Focus marketing. How about delivering some actual cars?

  • Can the electric Focus charge from 0 to 80% in less than 30 minutes? No. Guess that was a leaf unturned.

Good thing it charges quickly at home. You'll need it after you drop the wife and kids at the Grandparents and return home to get the stuff that wouldn't fit in the tiny space in the hatch. Maybe you will get it right next time Ford.

  • @karuddell We have a range of solutions for different customers. Our C-MAX plug-in hybrid which seats 7 has configurable seating and storage, which is a more realistic choice for a family of 4 that has stuff to haul around.

  • After seeing this vid I quickly went out to the Ford website. It says the Focus EV won't be available for another year! Why are you promoting a car no one can buy for a year? Sounds like you are chasing butterflies to me :-)

  • @MingePoonanny We're not promoting a car with this video - we're talking about our electrification strategy. We traditionally reveal cars at auto shows about 9 months before we bring them to market.
