Im crying for the calm in my hood...the child half's synonymous...Im mastering moshood....the saying and the line of clothing i design....coincides with my callous of my tyme...im a cook and artist fine...Im a whore and virgin rhyme...i do all but do none of the bull that im fly'in ...one time time time time for your mind....peep the game find the lessons asinine
im only 12 and im the only one who understands hip hop in my city i try to convince kids nas is ill waynes garbage but they dont belive me and it get really anoying knowing you know the real shit but no one sees it its like you see a ghost and no one sees it
@OshawaStateOfMind right get jay z 99 problems tel them to listen to it. every lyric. then tell them to listen to lil wayne got money. every lyric. theyle see that jay z s 99 problems is a giant step up from lil wayne bollocks. then theyl start listing to things like this
Ive been luvin Nas since high school! I remember like it was yesterday when Illmatic dropped. I first copped da bootleg but after mentally visualizin his music while he was spittin fire through my boombox I had to buy da cd & support da brotha!
@torontoskater2 That's when it was all about a personal message and not corporate materialist bullshit. Hip hop was all about individual identity, not materialist conformism like today.
peace im from germany and im fuckin stoned at the moment and i love this classic hip hop so nas is one of the best oldschool rapper and i think too that this is one of the 5 best albums and i listn to this shit and i can feel the lyric skillz!
One of the five best albums ever, not just rap. Picture-painting lyrics, great song placement, everything flows. An artist at his best, the pinnacle of musical recording.
reasonable doubt was great album also classic but illmatic was way better lyrically he went it there was no dance or radio joints just straight from the basement shit we need more of it in hip hop but again you wont sell records
honestly the best track in my opinion is the last track.. it aint hard to tell.. even to this day... it has never gotten old.. and it will probably will never ever get old and it is still good... but that is with regards to the album.. as for the most popular track dancefloor friendly.. I don't know. That is quite an achievement though...a paramount of an album/ a statemtn in hip hop and street culture. seriously.
give my respects to dude..debut album had no big name artists featured.. but look at the recognition this album gets.. truly the greates hip-hop album
