CFM56 Jet Engine Full Stop in real time

It's a little different than turning a key lol. From what I remember (and someone correct me if I am wrong) you hit a switch to start the turbine to spin then once it's built up pressure another switch to ignite the gases within the turbine. I was a teen when my dad showed me on a Gulfstream.

ive always wondered this.. how does one start a plane? do you turn a key or push the start button like in cars? or what?

It sure took a long time to fully stop. I think that this engine ingested something bad in its life as one turbine blade has a slightly different color than the others. Ahhh, the things you can spot on Youtube, it doesn't get boring!
