@WestLosHomiez if ur talkin about the two towards the back then they go to a metal bar that runs adjecent to the "3000" pipe. they hook upto the intake... but on this setup idk where they go lol
@Suprakidd1 yea cuz i have stock everything & well right now i can't see if the valve cover has those little tubes. but were goin to pull out the engine soon
It seems everyone has some dope ass manifold these days. Back when I had my '88 turbo I had never seen an aftermarket mani for the 7mgte. Are all these manifolds I see here on youtube custom or are they off the shelf? The stock intake mani sucks ass on the 7m and I wanted to replace mine after I had done my stage 1 turbo upgrade. To bad I spun a conrod bering and sold it. The kid ran a 12.06 with my turbo and stock plastic plumbing and intercooler! Then I'm pretty sure he blew it up again.
it needs bigger cams to have enough flow and its a schwitzer their known to be lazy. does it matter where it spools in a dra race?? no son thats what launch control and flat shift or als is for. sorry no pistons no power.
@ST165SLEEPER Bottom line is even with bigger cams, full exhaust from the elbow, ported and polished head, your still lagging bad with this turbo. Everyones fighting about it when the bottom line is its way to fucking big in these engines.. way to go is single big or twin smalls.
THE TURBO STOPS SPINNING AT IDLE. The turbo is too small for that engine.
Displacement has nothing at all to do with exhaust volume. Rotaries push more. Deal with it. That's how we can spool gt42r's and hit full boost between 2500 and 3500 rpms...... Turbo wasn't sized for the engine and if it was it's probably coked up or seized. No reason at all it should spool that weak and just stop spinning with the engine still running..... So who's the moron? Btw, i LOVE I-6 turbo yota motors.
Well, it's NOT a ball bearing. It wouldn't matter if it was. The owner is an idiot and you morons defending him are also idiots. Put down the video games and ricer mags. They aren't tuning bibles and bigger isn't always better.....
My second sentence in that post should say "the turbo is TOO BIG for that engine. Angry typo. No turbo should ever STOP spinning with any amount of exhaust flow going through it. Picture trying to spin a giant windmill by pissing on it.
Weak?.......LMAO!!! what a fucking moron seriously. Your fucking rotary piece of shit has nothing on a 7m....let alone any Toyota GE series engine. My fucking bottle of Mountain Dew has more liters than your shit.
because dicks get a car rip the old turbo off it witch are normaly fine untill they start blowing smoke and shove a t45 or t50 turbo that never full spools or boosts thinking there cool while sucking more gass down and losing power the dyno might say otherwise but you are losing power cose people dont relise that you have to change gear 4 times before your in your final gear but meh big turbo make big horse power (wank power )
@brutaly666 man with a proper tune and injectors and it done all right then you will make power like you want but maybe ppl like to hear their turbos over there bov and the exhaust? idk!
Man i know that it can be done as drag cars and some race cars do have HUGe turbos but they think that they can put a huge turbo on there motor asnd go put out hundreds of hp with out doing anything to there motor then they go around saying yea boi im running 30 psi boost and just beat you saying haha bitch what did ur car cost to build and they throw on a couple or grands turbo and bobs there uncle
@brutaly666 yeah i get wat you are saying but you have to have more fuel to run with more boost if not then your ringlands will take a shit on you! lol
I wonder if that turbo even has an oil supply hooked up to it.
IF (and that's a big if) the bearings aren't hosed the hot side of that turbo is WAAAAAY too big for that engine. It STOPPED spinning with the engine running! ROLF!
@TheRickRod lol his old ass turbo was fully spooled down; he was actually turning the blades with his finger. you can see when he revs it again after it spins.
if you install a turbo in ur car, would it change the sound of ur car? even with a stock exhaust? i mean i love to hear the hissing sound when it changes gear... pls anybody could reply, i really appreciated it, thank you guys....
thank you sir for the response i appreciated it. ohhhh i have no idea, so that mean i have to change the exhaust too? do u recomment any exhaust brands?
Yeah but a large turbo takes a lot of exhaust to spool, that thing is so big it would create lots of peak power, but have horrible throttle response, i can almost garuntee that turbo is too big,
shure that turbo is pretty big but who did that engine bay?fucken wires everywhere.that looks like shit...have a go mate and clean up your shit...lol.
turbo aint fucked up he has the wrong turbo set up. the turbo is too big. the engine doesnt put out enough exhaust to push the huge turbine blades. if you notice when he revs the engine. the turbo doesnt even spool up. it doesnt even get close to spooling. listen close when he revs the engine.
your a retard. engine load has to deal with driveline and accessories. the turbo is run off of exhaust gasses. higher rpm, more exhaust gasses. the more exhaust gasses the more pressure. pressure pushes the turbine. the more pressure the faster the turbine spins.
In order to achieve this boost, the turbocharger uses the exhaust flow from the engine to spin a turbine, which in turn spins an air pump. The turbine in the turbocharger spins at speeds of up to 150,000 rotations per minute (rpm) -- that's about 30 times faster than most car engines can go. And since it is hooked up to the exhaust, the temperatures in the turbine are also very high.
hey, my 7mgte spools up fine when driving, but in neutral it doesnt spool as much or almost at all, someone plz reply why it might be doing this, and how to fix it
hey, also, it would seem that my car is throwing oil out the exhaust, not a bunch, but enough to get me to worry, previous owner ran it on normal oil, not synthetic, and on 87 octane... and i was told that bcuz of that, the valve seals might be gunked up nd letting out some oil... could that be possible or is my engine just fucked? plz reply soon, cuz i want to replace the oil with Mobil 1 synthetic 5W-30 and run it on 94 octane, would that help clean the engine up?

all you people seem to be supra experts...mine is shooting out a shitload of white oderless exhaust.what should i do? i dont wanna have to sell it... :(
It probably is your gasket, Toyota changed the gasket material but never changed the torquing of the bolt so head gasket faliure in MKIII's is quite common.
sloppy welds and sloppy wiring, looks like he just installed a new blowoff valve, but im sure once he shuts the hood and gets on the streets only the cops care
the exhaust housing is too big for the volume of air produced at idle and just passes the wheel without spinning it, that is a s372 it looks like, bullseye/schwitzer turbo.
really the only thing you need to upgrade if you are going to up theboost would be the head gasket. put a metal head gasket in and start turning your boost up. As long as you take care of the motor (i.e. dont beat the shit out of it) and you dont have tonns of miles on it, you will be good for 600-700hp+ on the stock internals.
This has been debated forever... 7Ms dont last much after 500rwhp on stock internals... It takes alot more than an MHG and upping the boost to make power...
he was asking how strong the stock internals were. he never said what hp he was shooting for. upping the boost is a good way to start making easy hp on a 7m.
and darkhaze.... arp head studs are a very good idea if you are planning on boosting bigtime on your supra.
i mean that's where Nitrous comes into play but this guy is going to need cylinder head works with some NICE set of cams to take advantage of that turbo..... he's barely spooling that thing lol
Even then.. I hope that car is not a daily because thats some crazy lag he will have to deal with unless he has enough nitrous to spoil it every time haha.
Supra cams dont usually need to be changed unless you are going HUGE! Everything else would be good to 500-600+ on stock internals as long as its in good shape with a nice head gasket.
Um...no. My friend has one with a Turbonetics T70 on stock internals (w/MHG) that spools at 2500rpm. The 7M-GTE and the 2JZ-GTE are practically limitless

Uh, learn cars.
Turbo's need engine load to spool.
bnysaab 2 years ago
your a retard. engine load has to deal with driveline and accessories. the turbo is run off of exhaust gasses. higher rpm, more exhaust gasses. the more exhaust gasses the more pressure. pressure pushes the turbine. the more pressure the faster the turbine spins.
brunod85 2 years ago
bnysaab is right,
you need load on the engine, otherwise you don't have enough exhaust gasses.
it's not RPM because you need very little gas to get to high rpm without load.
vodkadip 2 years ago
In order to achieve this boost, the turbocharger uses the exhaust flow from the engine to spin a turbine, which in turn spins an air pump. The turbine in the turbocharger spins at speeds of up to 150,000 rotations per minute (rpm) -- that's about 30 times faster than most car engines can go. And since it is hooked up to the exhaust, the temperatures in the turbine are also very high.
brunod85 2 years ago
not all turbine blades spin at idle. not enough exhaust gas turning the exhaust side of the blade.

better adjus tthat bov. sounds like a lot of compression surge

that on stock internals? if not, whats upgraded?
naDarkHaze 4 years ago
good chance. the stock internals are strong as shit
SupraGhost 4 years ago
ya i know that, but never hurts to be safe. im just curious couse i plan on upgrading my turbo soon here.
naDarkHaze 4 years ago
really the only thing you need to upgrade if you are going to up theboost would be the head gasket. put a metal head gasket in and start turning your boost up.

MylesGabriel 4 years ago
he was asking how strong the stock internals were. he never said what hp he was shooting for. upping the boost is a good way to start making easy hp on a 7m.
and darkhaze.... arp head studs are a very good idea if you are planning on boosting bigtime on your supra.

not the pistons....

where did you get the intake manifold???
72torinocj 4 years ago
wow. are you crazy a 7m will spool it perfect. inline six. 3.0 i see 7m on tracks with t-77.

LOL... this is gonna be good.

Turbo is probably too big for that engine. I don't think it'll spool until 4,500 rpm or 5,000 rpms.
LordLo 4 years ago
i mean that's where Nitrous comes into play but this guy is going to need cylinder head works with some NICE set of cams to take advantage of that turbo..... he's barely spooling that thing lol
MK4bora28l 4 years ago
Even then.. I hope that car is not a daily because thats some crazy lag he will have to deal with unless he has enough nitrous to spoil it every time haha.
Datsrboi 4 years ago
Supra cams dont usually need to be changed unless you are going HUGE! Everything else would be good to 500-600+ on stock internals as long as its in good shape with a nice head gasket.
BigBillMC 4 years ago
Um...no. My friend has one with a Turbonetics T70 on stock internals (w/MHG) that spools at 2500rpm. The 7M-GTE and the 2JZ-GTE are practically limitless
crazycarguy022189 4 years ago
yeah i really dont think thats true but ok
numbah1killa 4 years ago
the are acually limitless... the 2jz output 2000HP before... the 7mgte output 1350hp+ on the 7mgte drag car AT THE FLYWHEEL...
