It's the most "socialist party" you can get in Canada... and I don't think I will live old enough to see it elected without a major "recentering". It true that Canada has more social oriented policies, with health care and education, but the state has very little control over "productive property", so we are very far from any sort of socialism ...

About the "hand guns" topic... this is from the Canada Firearms Centre web site: "...if you want to be licensed for restricted firearms (mainly handguns), you will have to pass the tests for the Canadian Restricted Firearms Safety Course before you apply for a PAL."

But as most Canadians would ask you: "Why would you want hand guns anyway?" ;-)
