F-35 is not the best plane in the world... the mig-29 is better(by a lot) and the mirage 2000 is a good aircarft, remember sometimes is not the airplane is the pilot... and the swiss have one of the most demanding airspace(lot of mountains, canyons etc)

With thrust vectoring, multi target engagement at great distances and stealth features a couple of F-35's would have an enormously positive kill ratio in combat compared to the older rivals.
Onliy the body was a licence of the french mirage. The hole avionik was american (Taran). With the sidewinder and the american elektronic it was one of the most powerfull airplain in the 7oth. But also one of the most expensive..... It was not so easy to kick off the french elektronic and import the Taran-Elektronic.

you gotta be kidding...f-16 and f-18 carry far superior armament. These are french built aircraft, thy are not designed to fight they are designed to run away :)
acutally they're designend for fast interception around mach 2 and high speed reconaissance. and Mirage IIIRS of the swiss army with normal analog cameras won against fa 18 with datalink pods... and btw, thats a second generation jet fighter, not third generation as f16 and fa18.
