  • this is totally awesome! :)

  • Im a golden god

  • no dislikes.. pretty awesome

  • There ain't such thing as an ever lasting looooooooovvvvveeeee! OH YEAH!!!

  • no joke, this has to be the best fake song ever

  • @rpmir1 Listen the soundtrak of the movie "Grace of my earth". It's a vault of fake gems of the 60'!

  • I still get pissed off every time I see this movie!!! Why, WHY aren't Stillwater a real band with nine albums to their name????? Pisses me off like nothing else.....

  • Somebody please tell me if that is really Jason Lee singing??? If so, my Lord - did he ever miss his calling? What a great voice!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE this movie!!!

  • @SunnyValeTP1 - Sadly, no. Marti Frederiksen (songwriter, record producer, and musician). provided the lead singing vocals for Jason Lee as Jeff Bebe. Jason Lee's actual voice is heard singing the song "Cover of the Rolling Stone" when Bebe learns Stillwater will be on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine. Lee also said he emulated moves of Paul Rodgers of Free and Bad Company

  • @broadjumper1 Yes...I can definitely see some early Paul Rodgers/Free in some of Jason's moves! Too cool!

  • @SunnyValeTP1 - And this song seems to have a definite Bad Company vibe to it as well, don't you think?

  • @broadjumper1 Oh I absolutely agree! Being a big Bad Co. fan, I even thought that the very first time I saw "Almost Famous!"

Thank you again for the info!

  • @SunnyValeTP1 - Thanks, this is easily one of my favorite films too and definably my favorite Cameron Crowe flick..

  • It's bullshit they didn't put ALL of the Stillwater songs from the movie on the soundtrack!

  • @JohnMLangdon Buy the bootleeg edition and you'll get a Stillwater CD.... My best buy as of yet.... ;)

  • To end all the debate about who the actual singer is and whether it's Frampton (which it's not): it's Marti Fredericksen. He's a major record producer/songwriter who's worked with a lot of the biggest rock and pop acts. He co-wrote the Stillwater songs with Frampton, the Wilson sisters, and Crowe.

  • there's the whole cleveland show @ extras of this DVD

  • 100,566 views, 217 likes, and no dislikes....Legends....

  • @dognechew

I worked with Jason Lee on an episode of My Name is Earl in the last season. He is very funny but serious at the same time.Basically a very cool dude.

  • @irvinfx very PROFESSIONALE!

  • I can't help but imagine Jason Lee singing whenever I hear these songs.

  • Stillwater and Infant Sorrow are my favorite fictional bands. They should tour together.

  • @mikeakt33

    Stillwater aint fictional.

  • @Greideras This band, with Jason Lee and Billy Crudup from the MOVIE Almost Famous, is fictional. Yes, I know there was a real band from the 70s called Stillwater, but this is not the same band.

  • @mikeakt33

I know, just wanted to make it clear that the name aint fictional, the movie is about the actual band, thought of course they are using a different cast :p

  • @Greideras The movie isn't about the actual band. The movie is based on cameron crowe's experience on the road with other bands, mainly Led Zeppelin.

  • @dognechew

Exactly what i, my self, was thinkin :D

  • No dislikes-- the way it should be :)

  • Anyone have any idea what organ he's playing the intro/outro on..? It looks like a Rhodes Mark I Stage Piano w/a set list taped to the top of it, but I'm not entirely certain...

  • Who cares who is singing, Crudup isnt an singer hes just an actor in the best movie of all time.

  • LIKE THIS if your favorite part of this song is the first 2 lines before the band starts playing.

  • how do yall know it is frampton singing, i couldnt find that anywhere and i am a almost famous fanatic, watched the commentary version????? it doesnt sound like him at all????

  • Comment removed

  • @redbone29fresno I think you can find it on IMDB i can't remember but it is Frampton

  • @blackdragon1290 thank u, i have looked at many frampton songs and he dont

sound anything like that to me so that is y i was second guessing

  • this song is the fuckiing shit!

  • this song is the fucking shit i dont give a fugg

  • excuse me, that is peters voice..the guy is lip syncing

  • thats peter frampton singing. um, that is why he is so good. its FRAMPTON

  • Man oh man can the actual singer really friggen sing!

  • First part is genius, why does no one make music like this!

  • IM ON DRUGS !

  • who ACTUALLY sings this?

  • @charismatic9904 they are actually playing the music and singing. I didnt believe it either

  • This film IS rock n' roll. Captures the mood of the movement perfectly-well done Cameron Crowe. I only wish Stillwater were a real band (I know there's an actual Stillwater, and I love them too, but I want to go to THIS band's concert, damn it!)

  • @warriorofwrestling Yeah I totally agree, awesome movie, really catchs the "vibe" of 70's rock n roll. I recomend watching The Runaways, it's an awesome movie too

  • @KurtZeppelin12 Ah thanks dude, I'll be sure to check that out, too. Much appreciated :)

  • is jason lee really singing?

  • @drpadd1 No. At least not Billy Crudup or Jason Lee. This music is not played live in the movie either I hope you know :D

  • ddoes anyone else think this song is bad ccompany with different lyrics.

  • @666MartyB666 i agree i thought that

  • ♥___♥ RUSSEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEL ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ :P

  • Does anybody know the chords for this song?!?

  • @funnyking95 yes

  • @Thepinup1 and the chcords are ...( :

  • @funnyking95 lol, it took me ages and it wasnt until my lead guitarist came round we finally got it, its so simple and you need something else to fill with or it sounds shite, but ill tab it up and send it to you, we just imp the solo, it honestly sounds boring with just chords tho i was waiting for your reply to it tho

  • does anyone know where i can download this song???

  • Comment removed

  • id love to see jason lee and these guys form into a real band, since it was really them performing this beautiful piece of work.

  • @AntVenom No they dint play this them selves. Dont even think Jason Lee can sing. Anyhow if he could you can hear that its not his voice. And Billy Crudup isnt playing the guitar lines either.

But if it were in fact they who played, the badn would be awesome to se live. This kind of music is hard to find these days.

  • @AntVenom are you sure it was, i heard it was all put on and the band were

    Peter Frampton

    Mike McCready

    Jon Bayless

    Ben Smith

    Gordon Kennedy

    Marti Frederiksen – vocals

frampton was from humble pie but the others are, i believe session musicians, marti has written loadsof music and is one of the boneyard boys along with Mark Hudson, Steven Tyler, and Joe Perry, I dont think anyone actually really played an instrument in stillwater

  • @Thepinup1 I'm not sure if these were. Thought I heard it in one of the "bootleg edition" interviews once, but I could be mistaken.

  • @AntVenom ive actally heard it was nancy wilson pitched down from the demo, i know it is said to be written by her

  • funny how this is 1,000,,000 times better than anything that is currently being called "music" today!

  • @harveydents not everything, just the mainstream shit

  • the songs in the movie that are by Stillwater are based off of actual late 60's early 70's rock songs. this one is based off of Bad company's song "bad company." Fever dog is a led zepellin song. Really cool idea for the movie.

  • @braig8107 I think you're thinking of 'Black Dog' by Zeppelin.

Fever Dog was written especially for Almost Famous.

  • fav song from this amazing ,but unfortunately fake, band

  • Nice tune :D I might go to the record store any day now. Any succestions for Stillwater album?

  • who actually plays this music?

  • Does anyone know if "Earl" is really singing? Seems like he is but it's a movie and it's supposed to be believable, so I'm not really sure. Just curious

  • @TCharest64

nope, it's not him. sorry D:

  • @LeeboProductions watch the almst famous directors cut (untitled)

there is a documentaty about it !!!

  • this is legit rock and roll...so badass!

  • @countrySTAR06 i know, shows such a knowledge of the era and rock for crowe to write this stuff w his writing partners

  • i love the first 2 lines of the song so much

  • @Rebirth0329 i had these two lines in my head all day

  • @Rebirth0329 they stole that from Marvin gaye. But agree the singing in the begining b4 the beat drops is excellent

  • anyone know where I can find a copy of the song? I've found all the other songs from the deleted scences, I just can't get this one!

  • search on google for almost famous stillwater rapidshare and you should get some results :)

    i downloaded it that way

  • Buy the soundtrack! If you can find it anywhere O_o

  • i knew he was skateboard pro and is a famous actor, but i didn't know jason lee was a singer as well...

  • @flothelurker

It's not actually him singing. If he was that good, he'd have another career.

  • it is them singing and playing watch almost famous the directors cut and it tells you in special features

  • @jester295 Im afraid you are dead wrong there my friend... dead wrong

  • he's not

  • @flothelurker thats cos he isnt, he doesnt sing on ths

  • Why can't anyone tab this song!

  • Not to be a dick, but these aren't too hard to learn my friend.

  • Which makes it even worse

  • just figure it out on your own!

    sheeesh!

  • I can't, what the fuck, is that so hard to understand!?

  • then you must be a terrible guitar player

  • The B.S report is a free flowing conversation that occasionally touches on mature subjects

  • of course Simmons

  • Bill Simmons is a geniussss

    Almost Famous is exceptional

  • Simmons. Bill effing Simmons.

  • Simmons.

  • Lita Ford a better guitarist than Nancy Wilson????

    Fail. Sit down redskullz124.

  • Simmons!

  • Simmons: "Marcia Gay Harden for 'Pollock.' Swear to God."

    hahahahahaha

  • Nancy Wilson, very underrated, probably the only true female guitar god, er goddess.

  • Er...no. That title goes to Lita Ford or Jennifer Batten.

  • nancy wilson didn't even play lead, sadly. very overrated just because she was female.

  • Simmons... if it hasn't already been posted here, Cameron Crowe's wife, Nancy Wilson from the band Heart wrote the Stillwater songs.

  • Didn't she write them with Peter Frampton?

  • @redskullz124 no her and her sister ann and cameron wrote this, Love Thing, fever Dog and chance upon you Frampton wrote Hour Of Need and You Had To Be there the other two songs stilwater does

  • he's a great sports writer, why not

  • simmons i want your job when you retire

  • simmons

  • Thanks Sports Guy

  • Simmons

  • Simmons

  • simmons!!

because he used to be the best

  • man, Simmons is like the most popular guy on the intraweb

  • Yeah, Simmons.

  • like a rusty steak knife... cuttin... thru... a well-aged... steak

  • Simmons.

  • Simmons.

  • Simmons.

  • Simmons!!

  • Sounds alot like the song "Bad Company" by the Band with same name. Singer sounds also alot like Paul Rodgers. Best singer ever.

  • oooohhhhhhhhhhhh WILLLY!!!!!!

  • I think Simmons has a valid argument with this movie being the best of the 00's. However, "The Dark Knight" is going to win that poll on ESPN, and it should. Still, I think "Almost Famous" is way underrated. (That's MIke McCready playing the lead guitar on all of the tracks for Stillwater.)

  • Simmons

  • Glad Simmons brought this back up.......I had forgetten how much I like this movie. I watched it sooooooo much when it first came to DVD I got burnt out on it.

  • Simmons.

  • Simmons. The biggest problem with this movie is that the band in it isn't that good. It's a minor problem, though, and not one they really could have done anything about. Still a great movie.

  • Simmons... you bastard.

  • Simmons

  • dammit Simmons!

  • It isn't Jason Lee singing. It is some guy named 'Marty Frederiksen.' Totally bummed me that wasn't Lee.

  • Simmons

  • Simmons

  • Simmons

  • FROM IMDB:

Marti Frederiksen provided the lead singing vocals for Jason Lee as Jeff Bebe. We do, however, hear Jason Lee's actual voice singing the song "Cover of the Rolling Stone" when Jeff Bebe learns that Stillwater will make the cover of Rolling Stone magazine.

  • simmons

  • Simmons

  • The singer of course patterned after Paul Rodgers (Free, BadCo, etc.) Ths Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is a sham until he's in............

  • Simmons...

  • If you look at the song credits after the movie you will see that the actors are credited as the "performers". They are all singing and playing their instruments.

  • SIMMONS>

  • Billy Crudup was given extensive lessons by Peter Frampton for the movie, I think as far i remember seeing /reading all band members attended a pre-filming "rock school" for a couple of months before principal shooting began.

  • what's that song they play in the scene where it shifts between like 3 or 4 songs of theres at this concert, it's the 2nd one I think. It plays part of this song then shifts to a song with some heavy guitar riffs

  • Does anyone know if this is actually Jason Lee singing? Or is he miming? I've been dying to know for so long.

  • I really hope so... =S

  • i heard it is. i heard everyone really plays the instruments in this movie. don't quote me

  • yea same, I think Jason is actually singing, his lip syncs is to exact for it not to be, sounds like his voice to.buuuut, I dont think the lead guitarist is playing, you can tell he has been taught, some finger tech's from the film pro's..:)

  • @dingse3 the Real Lead Guitarist is none other than Mike Mcready From pearl Jam

  • Unfortunately, he's not really singing. On the behind-the-scenes stuff on the DVD, during filming he's actually lip-syncing to Nancy Wilson's voice (the film's composer and former Heart musician... and Cameron Crowe's wife). They brought it someone afterward to be Jason Lee's voice.

  • dommage que le groupe n'existe pas en vrai.. les morceaux que j'ai pu écouter sont vraiment excellents !

  • il a existé ce groupe

  • It's called Tiny Dancer by Elton John

  • This wa one of the best songs in the movie, it was this one and Little Dancer.

  • That movie rulez

Love the 70s Rockbands even when they fictional^^

  • too bad this movie bombed at the box office

sounds like mr marvin gaye to me.

  • This song is so beautiful *sigh*, my fave' song they perform in the movie :)

  • I like this group, never heard of them til today, but they are really good.Hey better late than never! Sounds a little like Bad Company. x

  • thats a fictional band you know

  • I still like their sound! But thanks for the info :-)

  • J'adore cette chanson! Un p'tit mix de Bad Company et No quarter pour l'intro !;)
