Hey Brian, I am a huge fan and was wondering if you could come to a show in Michigan. I know that there is one in Taylor at the Taylor Town Trade Center at 22525 Ecorse Rd in Taylor MI, 48180. Please come, the shows are the second Saturday of every month of the year and are from 10am to 4pm.
Correction- actually now there are 3 venomous lizards, the Komodo dragon was recently declared venomous, although it is from a technical standpoint not.
@Pier2pie: what, you don't get "google" on YOUR internet? WTF? of course, I'm just kidding around. Beaded lizards are venomous and a close cousin of the gila monster. They look very much like gila monsters except there are no bright colors.
Canada FTW!!!!!!! We have more space, cleaner air, we have most of the best beer companies, own at hockey and other winter sports and activities, can take freezing -40 snowing weather like it was a hot summer and has the worlds best coffie and dougnuts. that is how Canada is the best.
well, i live in texas and there are many things that makes this place great. 1) texas chainsaw massacure. 2) the whole western/ ranch thing, i'm a big time country girl, so i love it down here. 3) it's usually always warm. and 4) it's the only state in the United States that can pull itself out of being part of the United States at any time. We can potentially be our own country and have our own government.
Im from the desert part of Texas yes, where the diamondback rattlesnakes are. Whats awesome about where I live is not only the amazing desert wildlife but also the amazingly beautiful thunderstorms there is nothing more beautiful than the Texas sky during a thunderstorm. Another fact is we like to say where i live if your dog runs away you can watch him run for 2 weeks. (no trees water hills anything to block your view). Thanks for the awesome show snakebytes!!!!!

Where i live you go to love the diversity, i mean what you want you can find, and sometimes it may be an hour away but its always worth, like to find a reptile shop that goes to expos and has cool animals is like 30 minutes from me, i also got sixflags about 30 mins away, and im sorrounded by great restaurants :) no not McDonalds.... hey brian, a couple episodes i told u thank you for the snakes make me cash episode because i was starting a new snake business. but i have a few questions. im 16 i have 4 ball pythons 3 normals and 1 pastel now i dont have much money but i live on 56 acres so i could cut grass and stuff but i was wondering what kind of snakes should i get for just starting a business? im a novis at this an i have alot of room for the snakes, but what should i start with? a spider? a pinstripe? for breeding. THX
hey brian i have a bearded dragon and that scaleless bearded dragon just blew my mind! As for the question of the week i also live in canada hockey and basketball two of the best sports i love to play! REPRESENT!!!!
HELP!!! i recently got a ball python that is slightly over a foot long. I don't know its sex, but its tail tapers quickly after its cloaca. Anyway, my problem's are
1) it's refusing food
2) it's skin is dry and forms creases when it moves
3) it's making wheezing and popping sounds when it breathes
The biggest problem is that I live in a country where snakes are illegal as pets so I can't get any veterinary help. I have another snake that is doing fine, so I doubt the husbandry is the problem.

I'm an american and America is my favorite country to ever exist. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else. It's great because of all our freedoms, now only if we could get those demicrats out of office.....
I wish you could have talked about the Azeurus frog. Don't think it would've been wise to handle it though.
By the way, It's strange to hear 'bugger' in an American accent. I didn't know you guys said it! Also when you were talking about getting a bite from the gila moster, you said you'd definatley probably go a trip to the hospital. I do feel definatley and probably are conflicting ideas. Some amazing creatures this week but I had much more fun nit-picking your dialouge. ;]
@Ollievarium We (Americans) do say 'bugger' from time to time, but we use it in a cutesy affectionate way. I know in South Africa and other British-English speaking countries that 'bugger' has quite a different connotation. ;-)
Brian why dont you put the two halloween zombie snake shows together to make a show and inbetween get replays the top ten chewy bites. Also for a bit of fun for one week you all could change places, chewy boss etc, lol
The winters! I live in Wabush, NL in Canada and the winters here are beautiful and long! Great skiing place, lots of ski-doo trails and lots of snow make it great staying here for me.
The San Juan islands have to be one of the coolest places on the planet. I grew up loving this place, but we get people from all over to whale watch, fish, hike, and all sorts of outdoor awesomeness! Not to mention I don't have to worry about venomous reptiles, just a brown recluse or two :P Easy to regulate temperatures for my cooler temp herps too
By the way, the komodo dragon is now recognized as a venomous lizard, and other varanids may also be venomous. See "A central role for venom in predation by Varanus komodoensis (Komodo Dragon) and the extinct giant Varanus (Megalania) priscus" by Fry et al. 2008, available for free download with Google Scholar. Our beaded lizards and gila monsters may not be as unique as we initially thought! ;-)
the good thing about Arizona, is the weather! herping in the desert which can be as little as an hour away for a good spot and i don't have to buy a parka or galoshes.
@princessdaedae09 they can be antsy, but in my experience they are calm once you have em in hand, just dont hold em too much because they can be an agitated kinda snake.

Too afraid to handle a tarantula, brian? You should try holding that Chilean Rose Hair, they're docile :)
