@THAForseti "there was no cap on targets affected by AoE attack" that was the point of this video.. they just implemented the cap on AOE, you'll note my 30,000 dps video was done without the cap on blizzard (the last spell to be uncapped at the time). So yes 20k was a pain in the rear to do with the cap...

Very impressive DPS back in black moras, especially in that gear. Fire mages (myself) can pull 22k+ on HM ICC25 Single Target bosses and I'd love to see what they cap at on aoe (personally only seen 50-60k but I'm sure it's beatable).

Ironicaly its somewhat harder to do alot of dps with 100 mobs. Why because they changed your damage if you have more thne i think 5 mobs or so. So if you did 10k dps with 5 mobs you will only do like 4k its to even out the damage so we dont one shot things.

I know you've replied to the previous commenters that ur UI works for u and that u dont have to search ur spellbook to find a spell, but may I suggest you try to use some utility addons? Im not telling you how to play, I'm just wondering if You've considered using addons such as smartbuff or decursive to free up your actionbar, or Mikport to get all ports in one frame :D

But the basic rotation (that ALL fury warrior should use) is - Priority - Boss greater than 20% 1) Whirlwind 2) Bloodthirst 3) Slam (On Bloodsurge Proc) X) Heroic Strike (Rage dump when rage above 60) Priority - Boss less than 20% 1) Whirlwind 2) Bloodthirst 3) Execute X) Heroic Strike (Rage dump when rage above 80)

See comments from about 5 months ago when I explain how the numbers actually worked. It was 20k dps. 860k approx damage in 43s = 20k dps

Damage is Capped thus the 300 per hit. Notice the 1200 per hit at the end. If the cap wasn't there it would be much more than 20k dps. (see math below)

Mob Health 9600 ea approx (89 mobs)

8 spell casts at approx 1200 damage per mob each

1.5s GCD

12s needed for 8 casts

8*1200= 9600 damage

9600*89= 854,400 total damage done

854,400/12=71,200 damage per second

Say blizzard normaly does 1.5K a hit on 10 mobs it will now only do 400 on 40 and 200 on 80 ect :(

You don't understand what I'm trying to say.. For instance, any good Fire Mage ins't going to have ice Lance of Frost Bolt on his bar, you have spells on your bars you dont need to have on an action bar, or atleast see in combat. Like having 15+ different types of potions on your bars? 5 different types of mana pots? try getting in any good raiding guild with that Ui and ull be shut down

How can you honestly tell weather I am a skilled or good mage based on a short video of an extremely unusual situation? Seriously. I have more macro's (learn to spell) than most mages even know what do to with. I have 15 key binds to my mouse buttons alone (7 button mouse). In fact my priest is played almost completely with the mouse buttons. You have no idea what kind of skill or knowledge I have. I don't NEED half the screen, I only need a 1/4 of the screen.

"w/e you like" exactly. I like my UI, it works for me. My damage will out dps almost any other mage I come up against. No matter what their gear is compared to me. Should you fail to believe my comments, feel free to log onto the scryers server and begin asking level 80 alliance toons about xetrov's dps and you'll soon understand its one of the top on the server, even if his gear is not the top. I take pride in my mage and how I use it. Most mages have no idea how to dps probably like you.

I didn't call myself one of the best mages around because my AOE is the bomb. I called myself one of the best mages because thats what others refer to me as. I tend to educate other mages on how to be better at dps. I tend to assist people without asking for anything in return. I tend to be a very nice person to those that are nice to me. I can out dps almost any other toon because I know how to "mage". Currently I pump out anywhere from 4k to 8k dps depending on the instance.

Try doing that 10 levels ago, in blue gear... Good luck.. btw without damage caps I would have had 8 spell casts to kill those mobs. Which would put me at about 70,000 damage per second.

Tank just runs around until all of the mobs in the Zone (It's in an instance, so they don't stop following) are chasing him, then stop, get some aggro and let it rip!! Had to be a pally tank back then, other tanks had trouble keeping AoE aggro.

This is when the first damage caps were put in place. Thanks to people exploiting the game with aoe farming. Blizzard was the only spell uncapped at the time this was filmed. Over time they moved the damage caps up and up so we didn't notice them as much. Now they are back.. yipee
