ATTENTION CARBS THAT LEAK GAS OUT THE OVERFLOW>>> My Baja 90 has the same carb as in this video and after I cleaned it, it would not stop leaking gas out the overflow. I assumed the float bowl level was off (as this is usually the cause) however after adjusting the float an insane number of times the bike would not stop leaking gas. I realized that the rubber tipped float needle EXPANDED from the carb cleaned I used. I baked it in my oven for 25 min at 300, it has never leaked a drop yet!
The black gasket on the float bowl on my Baja 90cc also expanded from the carb cleaner so it would not fit back into place, thats when I found out that baking black rubber gaskets in a kitchen over returns them to their origional size. Therefore I had nothing to lose by baking my leaky float needle which actually shrunk the black rubber tip on the end of it back to its origional size... I'M still amazed how good that worked and the bike still runs great.
i have an ssr 110 and it seems like something is wrong in my carb and my whole gas tank just runs out the carb out the over flow line when i turn the gas on. Do you know what might be wrong?
How do I remove the throttle cable? I unscrewed the large cap and the cable running down inside seems connected to something I cant see. How do I correctly disconnect the cable and re-install?

Hello,No matter how much i turn my air screw out ,It still runs rich. Cleaned 3 times and replaced the 2 jets..in just 20 minutes my plug is black...This is a Honda 1974 xr 75 any ideas would appreciate

the carby will probly flood now seeing as you didnt clean the float needle and seat and you didnt check that the float needle shutoff is at the right level

@ElBadToucho Did you reinstall the lines to the right ports? ive had that problem, me being..me. remove air filter and open your throttle, and spray 2 SMALL SQUIRTS of starter fluid (or carb cleaner, as long as its flammible.) reinstall airfilter and see if it at least fires.
@ElBadToucho Hello i am a really good pro fixing pocket bikes, pit bikes, atvs, quads i am like a dealer. I would do this, first take off the spark plug off and then add some gas in to it. (not to much just little bit) then put spark plug back on and try starting the bike/quad if starts and dies then your carb is bad need to be cleaned again/better or if cant then buy a new one of ebay.
Hi i got that same carb on my 110cc atv its called a pz20 carb the rubber gasket was worn out bad i got a roll of cork-rubber and made my own gasket the roll cost me 4.99 i cleaned everything with acea tone it look brand new and only paid $50 for the atv now i know how to adjust the idel thanks alote this video was a very big help.

@1016johnR eventually your needle might get stuck and run fucking gas out the hose and air filter and piss you the fuck off. . . thats where i'm at. lol thats not bound to happen, but somethin will get gunked up and get stuck or plugged and your bike won't run.
i opened my carb and cleaned it and put it back togeather now it wont start. i have a kick start and it sounds like there is no gas going through where it ignites did i screw something in to hard?
@TaYmOuR46 Pull it back off and clean it again and put it back together you can tighten the jets as tight as you want but I would recommend just to snug them dont tighten them too tight :)
I dont know shit about bikes but i got one and i would like to know y my bike turns off when it warms up and want turn on any more till it cold again. The only way it stays on if i'm on the throttle.
@3jawz u need valves done for sure especialy if its lacking compression best way to tell is if u stand on the kicker wit a little pressure on fire stroke .if valves need doin it should start to sink down straight away an sometimes ive had them so bad they hisss out he inlet if u need more info get back to me

@207dilligaf Hey, If you think cleaning a carb goes that well all the time, think again. Notice how new that carb is? It shouldn't have any bad internal problems. And it don't always run like new. The problem with your sons bike is the gas overflowing. Not spark or timing or it wouldn't idle smooth. Change the needle and seat and see if that doesnt fix the whole problem. Sputtering from flooding out. Change needle and seat. The seat is the park the needle sits in. Let me Know on it.

86cc high performance carb, I clean mine just like yours, on this one, can get a perfect idle using the mixture and idle screw on outside, but when givin gas it will stall, unless u floor it then it acts like a 4-barrel tryna kick in to early... Any suggestions ? And i screwed the jets in all the way, I forgot how far they were in cuz they been sittin for a year

Hi, I'd like to ask.. theres something making this noise in my carb.."tok tok tok" depends on how high is th revolution. if bike is on idle, i dont hear it and when its on revolution higher than the idle I would hear it again. what could be the thing making the noise? Hey...at 0:28, the brass fitting at the top of the carb...any clue where to get one of those??? I was rebuilding my carb and somehow can't find that piece. The new carb I bought has a different fitting and it makes my cable about 1.5" too short so the slide inside won't close. Thanks for any info you may have. @surfwriter seriously the best way to find one is on ebay, just try and find an older carb for 20-30 bucks I lost some parts and ended up buying a junky carb and takin the pieces off that
@gilbert7778 there are a whole number of problems that could be occurring, the easies to check is the spark plug just see if theres a whole bunch of carbon on it because of that it might not make a spark. next you should take apart your carb see if there is any dirt or dust that accumulated on one of the jets and the bike could not be getting any fuel. if your bike has sat for a while then the fuel lines could get clogged with old pretty much gelled fuel but I bet your bike hasnt sat for a year
Hi i have just bought a Dinli 260cc Automatic quad. It wont start unless i warm the engine/carb with a wall heater for 10 mins first. It then starts but once run and fully warmed up the revs are too high and is going to ruin the transmission when i put it in gear. It does need a new seal between the carb coz the last user nipped it when they put the carb back together. Its had a new spark plug, new fuel and a mechanic has cleaned the carb out.im going to alter the revs when i get the right tool.

little tip for everyone you don't need to remove main or idle jets to clean them, just use an air compressor and blow air through which will take any dirt out of them. Of course that is if you have one. And 9 times out of 10 if it is a carburetor problem it is dirt in the float bowl and not the jets, but not always the case. This guy knows what he's doing just if your not comfortable with doing it yourself make things easier for your self and just clean the float bowl and float.
On my 2004 CRF80F Dirtbike, It wont Idle at all and when you rev it up it gets stuck in high revs and comes down harshly. I took the Carb apart, and noticed on the " SLOW JET" that i cant blow through it. is it supposed to be like that?
i have a 90cc 4 stroke 4 wheeler that i decided to get out today after about a yr of sitting. i put in a BRAND NEW SPARK PLUG fully charged battery and cleaned the carb. it started but would only run at full choke and when i put it in gear i could only give it half throttle. when i put it on half choke it revs real high for about 6 seconds and the revs real low. i messed around w/ tuning but nothing helped. when i finally get up to speed at half choke(complicated) it runs PERFECT. help plz?

@MyHamburgerhelper Yeah it sounds like your carb is dirty haha i had a 100cc yamaha aerox and it was if like when at the trafic lights the bike would try to die so i gave it some revs and it was so week then started to go up and i got to one point where i had to run next to the bike then jump back on to make the thing move haha, i sold it now but that was the big problem was the carb's :) hope i helped you in anyway mate, hope your bike runns much better soon haha,

@pontiacbandit21, i have this problem too, currently letting the carb soak in cleaner (without any rubber gaskets) also adjusted the needle position to allow more fuel, the air screw has no affect, think this will work?
@01boneless i had the same problem if urs sat with gas n it. its the corrosion from the bad gas. for me it was the main jet that was stopped up with corrosion material. i sprayed carb cleaner through it then took the air compressor to it got all of the bad stuff out. once it was reassembled it started up new
for some reason on my 125cc atomik nitrous the bottom of my carb where the drain screw is leaking out the hose, but only when it is shaken around, and held left towards the ground, i have done the swcrew up all the way but it keeps leaking, do you know what the problem could be? thanks:)

You forgot to check the needle valve take the float pin out and remove the foat and the needle valve the thing that lets more gas in and out of the float chamber

Bought a non running 71 CB350 banking on the carbs just needing to be cleaned out. I was right (i think). there was a sunk float in one and a cracked needle jet in the other. I got the proper rebuild kit and the jets are all the right size but the holes in all sides of the jets are smaller the the og. Problem?
I tried stick a very thin wire in my idle screw and won't go all the way threw and sprayed it doesn't flow threw, Why is that?

hey i was wondering if you could help me my 90cc scrambler keeps spluttering and spitting and i dont know what to do i cleaned everything and toke out the jets and cleaned them and the idle and the main venturi screw and she still wont go right its starting and idleing but once you get going it just keeps spluttering and spitting?

86cc high performance carb, I clean mine just like yours, on this one, can get a perfect idle using the mixture and idle screw on outside, but when givin gas it will stall, unless u floor it then it acts like a 4-barrel tryna kick in to early... Any suggestions ? And i screwed the jets in all the way, I forgot how far they were in cuz they been sittin for a year

Hey i have a 125cc SSR, when i get it to turn on, i let it warm up, but once i get riding, when i gas it it cuts off and gases continuesly, basically when im gasing it, it will gas then cut off, gas,cut off,gas and so on, any suggestions ?! thanks !

I will clean my carb again tomorrow. I started it today and it ran, but wouldn't stay running. Any time I tried giving it gas it would shut off!

Okay, so i have a motorcycle, is having troubles starting, it runs for 5 seconds then stops, the bike was sitting for 2 years i changed the gas and the spark plugs and cleaned the carbs jets...
Before the bike wouldnt start at all since i cleaned it it now runs for 5 seconds then stalls, with or with out choke...

yo i have a 50cc pocketbike nd i cleaned the carb because everytime i turned it on id have to vary the choke to keep it on or give it gas or it wud juz shut off. i put the carb back nd now the bike wont turn on. i charged the battery changed the spark plug and there are no air bublez in the fuel line. wat might be the problem? plz reply asap i neeeeeed help :(

Hi, I'd like to ask.. theres something making this noise in my carb.."tok tok tok" depends on how high is th revolution. if bike is on idle, i dont hear it and when its on revolution higher than the idle I would hear it again. what could be the thing making the noise? I bought new piston set for the carb, i havent installed it yet. I was kinda thinking that maybe it was the piston making all the noise. .thanks

Hey...at 0:28, the brass fitting at the top of the carb...any clue where to get one of those??? I was rebuilding my carb and somehow can't find that piece. The new carb I bought has a different fitting and it makes my cable about 1.5" too short so the slide inside won't close. Thanks for any info you may have. @surfwriter seriously the best way to find one is on ebay, just try and find an older carb for 20-30 bucks I lost some parts and ended up buying a junky carb and takin the pieces off that

@gilbert7778 there are a whole number of problems that could be occurring, the easies to check is the spark plug just see if theres a whole bunch of carbon on it because of that it might not make a spark. next you should take apart your carb see if there is any dirt or dust that accumulated on one of the jets and the bike could not be getting any fuel. if your bike has sat for a while then the fuel lines could get clogged with old pretty much gelled fuel but I bet your bike hasnt sat for a year

Hi i have just bought a Dinli 260cc Automatic quad. It wont start unless i warm the engine/carb with a wall heater for 10 mins first. It then starts but once run and fully warmed up the revs are too high and is going to ruin the transmission when i put it in gear. It does need a new seal between the carb coz the last user nipped it when they put the carb back together. Its had a new spark plug, new fuel and a mechanic has cleaned the carb out.im going to alter the revs when i get the right tool.

little tip for everyone you don't need to remove main or idle jets to clean them, just use an air compressor and blow air through which will take any dirt out of them. Of course that is if you have one. And 9 times out of 10 if it is a carburetor problem it is dirt in the float bowl and not the jets, but not always the case. This guy knows what he's doing just if your not comfortable with doing it yourself make things easier for your self and just clean the float bowl and float.

On my 2004 CRF80F Dirtbike, It wont Idle at all and when you rev it up it gets stuck in high revs and comes down harshly. I took the Carb apart, and noticed on the " SLOW JET" that i cant blow through it. is it supposed to be like that?

i have a 90cc 4 stroke 4 wheeler that i decided to get out today after about a yr of sitting. i put in a BRAND NEW SPARK PLUG fully charged battery and cleaned the carb. it started but would only run at full choke and when i put it in gear i could only give it half throttle. when i put it on half choke it revs real high for about 6 seconds and the revs real low. i messed around w/ tuning but nothing helped. when i finally get up to speed at half choke(complicated) it runs PERFECT. help plz?

I would say if you haven't got a inline fuel filter get one! The fuel you get from petrol stations always has grit in it.

my 250 cc gokart does start everyonce in a while but i have to hae the gass pedal at least a quarter of the way in but it quits when i dont have my foot on the gas and it and it hardly has enough power to move even when i have te gass all the way in do you think it might be because of a dirty carb

@MyHamburgerhelper Yeah it sounds like your carb is dirty haha i had a 100cc yamaha aerox and it was if like when at the trafic lights the bike would try to die so i gave it some revs and it was so week then started to go up and i got to one point where i had to run next to the bike then jump back on to make the thing move haha, i sold it now but that was the big problem was the carb's :) hope i helped you in anyway mate, hope your bike runns much better soon haha,

mack@21 maybe i can help you from my experience before.inside the carburetor throttle,the was Jet Needle.bring it out and adjust the clip position to the bottom.if the problem still,adjust the clip position upper.hope this information can help you.

i have a ttr 125 and when i jump in the air it kinda like stops when you give it gas in the air then when you land it takes like 2 seconds to star moving again could that be the carb its never been cleaned sense i bought new in 2008 and the choke dont work i try turning the choke on but it just stays same idle speed

@pontiacbandit21, i have this problem too, currently letting the carb soak in cleaner (without any rubber gaskets) also adjusted the needle position to allow more fuel, the air screw has no affect, think this will work?

@01boneless i had the same problem if urs sat with gas n it. its the corrosion from the bad gas. for me it was the main jet that was stopped up with corrosion material. i sprayed carb cleaner through it then took the air compressor to it got all of the bad stuff out. once it was reassembled it started up new

MRart74 - you may have a blockage in one of your cabutetter jets, take them out and just blown into th until any rubbish comes out. Hope this helps.

for some reason on my 125cc atomik nitrous the bottom of my carb where the drain screw is leaking out the hose, but only when it is shaken around, and held left towards the ground, i have done the swcrew up all the way but it keeps leaking, do you know what the problem could be? thanks:)

@alronjr1 hi, i had that problem with a 125cc demon x i just got, i took the carb of and the float was upside down for some reason so after i put it back properly it was fine, hope this helped, good luck.

1 question..My demon dxr110 is brand new..im still running it in..its been a week now of leaving it ticking over for about 10-20 mins a day..i went down the road and full throttled it and it started bogging when i was giving it full throttle..ive been reading posts about running it to rich or to lean..the manual and people are sayin do the air/flow mixture screw all the way up the loosen it 2 turns or 2 1/2 turns undone but when i do thiss petrol pisses out the overflow.. :S PLEASE HELP ME !!!

Bought a non running 71 CB350 banking on the carbs just needing to be cleaned out. I was right (i think). there was a sunk float in one and a cracked needle jet in the other. I got the proper rebuild kit and the jets are all the right size but the holes in all sides of the jets are smaller the the og. Problem?
