  • poor ifs

  • Where did you get that grille? lol

  • @Bludevilbrandon4 factory toyota its like a 1992 model grill

  • yotas with a body lift ride like shit

  • so around how much lift does the bj spacers ad? And how does it ride with the body lift, suspension lift, and spacer lift? Thanks

  • @dirtrider292 not bad it rides pretty smooth, it corners nice, drives way nicer than all my friends lifted Toyota, you can do 80 down the free way in and out of traffic and its not sketch lol Ive decided to do a Straight axle swap tho, im tired of replacing worn out parts on the ifs, and i just blew the front diff snow wheeling so ill hopefully have that down by the end of January and ill get some videos up

  • its a toyota, its a shit box no matter what u do to it

  • your truck is beautiful man! definitely shows pride and devotion for sure. im so jealous!

  • @behindthewallsleepin thanks man their great trucks

  • Dang man , that trucks bad ass I actually got a 89 . But I don't have too much money too put into it . And man instead of snow that thing would look great going through some mud down here

  • @Joker2858 thanks man, their defiantly sick trucks, i think the body lines look better than trucks made now days, i love muddin i just hate cleaning it off and having to work on it all muddy lol

  • i got a similar 4runner....funny to think these beasts are made in JAPAN and modified by good ol mud throwing AMERICANS like you and me

  • @lockheed22 fuck yea

  • What's the info on this song?? It's awesome theme song for my toyota

  • whats that song called?

  • imnew to the yota scene and i need your help please! lol i have a 86 yota 4x4 ext pickup stock height on 31s and i would love to have your height and run 36s or so. i seen the 4-5" rough country lift plus a 3" body lift and the 2" add a leafs and spacers for the front should get me about 10" of lift and room for 36s or maybe 38s with bushwacker cutout flares. is this simular to what you did? what size tires you runnin? by the way sweet truck! thats how i want mine to sit.

  • @BLACKLACDTS im running that same set up, just about 10inchs of lift total, im running 38inch tires with 5:29 gearing. i have the bushwacker flares to. You would defently clear 36s, you probly wouldnt need the body lift to clear 36's

  • @DeathSycthe02 i really appreciate the help. i think i am goin to go the same route as you and run the 38s with the flares. your truck sits exactly how i want mine too! my 22re is built by lc enginering and is claimed to be roughly a 180-200hp motor but i still will need the gears.i dont know for sure what it is. my brother in law built the truck 6 years ago and drove it everyday until he just bought a 2011 f350 fx4 diesel so i got the yota! once again thats a sweet truck my friend!!!

  • @DeathSycthe02 could you tell me the best place to buy those gears? my truck is also a automatic!

  • @BLACKLACDTS i have a 93 youta with a twelve inch suspencion lift and a 3 inch body lifty with 38 inch super swampers and i still have a shit load of room

  • @Rednosegator615 holy crap! 12" suspension lift ?!?!?! who makes that thing???

  • I spent a lot of money on racing parts for my Civic. But the more trucks i see now day even old trucks I am greatly falling in love with trucks.

  • its junk till u straight axle it bbbbuuuuuutttttttt its perty lol

  • @ook176 if it rarely sees serious offroad duty do you think it really needs a sas? like with my 86 yota i live in the city at least 30 miles from any good wheeling so i want to make my truck sit tall above the crowd and help it when we get 4+ feet of snow. i will take it off road when i can (maybe 1 time every few months) but i dont need to do a sas swap for my needs just like the truck in this video. he has a sas truck and this mite be his daily.

  • @BLACKLACDTS yea it is just my daily driver, my 87 sas is the wheeler lol

  • @DeathSycthe02 exactly! nice rigs.

  • Beauty!

  • Did it always have the big windows or did you put 4 runner doors on your truck? because most trucks have a wing windows?

  • @TigerEnos no i didnt switch the doors, i think the new ones came with the wing windows like 92s and up? as an opinion, My truck is an 89 so.

  • @TigerEnos My 91 does not have a wing.

  • @TigerEnos My 91 has solid windows like that.

  • @DeathSycthe02 i have one*** check my Channel for my 22ret build

  • I'm suprised none of your chrome has rusted from driving in the snow around town from all the salt and gay deicer they put down.. I got lazy a few times and didn't wash mine after driving in the snow around town and other things so my stuffs starting to rust:/ but it ain't bad

  • @justin28219 ha only a lil on the bumper but i steal wool it

  • What kind of gas milage do you get?

  • @g21721 about 14 mpg and worse on the high way because @60mph im at 3500rpm so it drinks lol

  • do you have the blazeland kit?

  • @hockeynasty72 no trail master

  • @DeathSycthe02 nice.

  • how big lift u got

  • @devanreaves about 10inchs

  • Where is the FRONT STRAIGHT AXLE.

  • @highsierraking on my other truck lol

  • hey youre the guy on YT building that 87 right? nice yotas man. oh im 87hillbillyoter on there

  • @87norcalyoder Thanks!! yea im building the 87 on yotatech, turning out to be more work than i hoped for but i love the thing. Their both great trucks, cant wait to finish the 87 and get some videos of it.

  • Imagen putting a turbo on a new one the 4cyl are like 2.7 L

  • that truck is baddass

  • have the same truck/ same color 330,000 miles ripped the POS v-6 outa it , put in a real engine, 22R w/ holley 2-bbl.................. good for another 1/4 million

  • what do these trucks cost now in days with 100000 miles on them?

  • @sonic685 Waaay more than they should.

  • Badass, I had one similiar in Highschool, Mine wheeled though

  • yo thats redonkulous! hahaha

  • fucking awesome

  • needs to be sas

  • I don't think this is '89. The Toyota logo didn't come out until early '90s.

  • @taitai907 it has a grill swap and bumper swap.........

  • Yota!!!! It's a gorgeous truck buddy, dunno what the hells wrong with ppl who can't tell whats quaity when they see it.

  • thang looks sick man, i also have the same year and same model on 36's but 5 29's? i bet that thing runs super super low... and are you 22re or v6? i have a v6 in mine but i am running 4 11 in the rear end....

  • I like it

  • lovin the truck man, i just got a 94 from a cash for clunkers sale. 260k on it and all that was wrong was the knock sensor wire was cooked haha goin to put a 3 inch body on it for now want to make it a removable top i think itd be sweet haha goin for 33s, i think im going with ATZs for it.. anyone know where i can get wider rims for it? (13"+)

  • music suck but the truck is perfect!!! keep it up!!

    good job mate!

  • wow people it isnt a bad truck and the music will kick your pussyshit anyday

  • @Snazz15 agreed

  • get a fuckin life the music is shite along with that pile of shite ur drivin

  • @ruairi50 what you drive and who are you to judge

  • @DeathSycthe02 do NOT listen to that little fucking bitch. you keep right on doin what yur doin with both your trucks. PS music rules. Rock FTW!!!

  • @DeathSycthe02 dont listen to that fag nice truck dude

  • @DeathSycthe02 this truck is sick

  • @ruairi50 dick

  • @MrKcomstock thanks bro, i read this and was like what ftw. its all about rallying portland, everything echos off the builds love the way the truck sounds in portland. you got a truck? it would be sick to get all the trucks in the area together and have a portland toyota rally.

  • @DeathSycthe02 yeah i got a blue 88 toyota pickup 4x4. you prolly have seen it since i work at the Union Pacific next door to the auto body shop i see your truck at. its the raggy truck with the chrome visor and bruch guard. lol

  • @MrKcomstock next time you drive be the shop you gotta honk, i havent drove the truck recently tho i cracked the rear axle housing so its been out. upload a video of the yota

  • @DeathSycthe02 I'm there! lol

  • @toyotapickup94 what?

  • @DeathSycthe02 lol to your comment about getting a bunch of toyota's together. would be awesome! awesome truck by the way.

  • for its age that thing looks brand new, very nice.

  • buy a newer truck pal

  • @phaneufan26 guess what i bought a older one, check out my 87 build.

  • @phaneufan26 I have the same truck, 211 k and still going strong. A repo bought in 94. I replaced the head gaskets, timing belt, water pump, freeze plugs and valve sleeves in June. I had the work done as maintenance not that it was needed. $1100 at the shop. The truck has never left me sitting on the side of the road all it needs next is a nice paint job as its original is not looking so good. Interior needs work too, it is 18 years old. You can't beat these trucks just take care of them.

  • i cant hear it

  • Yodas all the way!

  • i recently inherited a toyota like this one and its in really bad shape and i happen to notice that the panel between the two tires (the flat black one on your yota) on mine is really rusted and bent and i was wondering if you knew what it was called and where to purchase one to replace thanks

  • @yon23m That's a skid plate.

  • @codydotson12 ive got pictures of the lift on yotatech, linked above, its custom.

  • @codydotson12 haha mine has 10 its called 6 inch kit raised torsions and a 3 inch body

  • @codydotson12 probaly a 3 inch body lift, a 4 inch IFS thats 7 inches you can fit 38s with 7 inces of lift

  • where did you get the chrome panels for the sides?

  • @Courtlinpeel came factor?, they were on the truck when i bought it

  • NICE truck, the best colour. I have a 4Runner (actually a Jap import - I got banned from yotatech for saying Jap, once.. :s) How much sus lift do you have? I have 2" body lift, 3" sus lift but want more. I got smallish tyres - 33's on 10" wide American Racing Baja - love those rims. I did have pics up on yotatech before I was banned. I'll be back someday but im on a English forum cos I live in england

  • i love my 89 yota with the 3.0 v6!!! it has 207k on it and still hasnt lost power

  • @DeathSycthe02 sweet man! whats your screen name? mine is 1988toyotaFOURrunner

  • Your gonna have that beast for a long time if you change the oil in that 22RE! I assume its a 4cyl. My '89 has over 600,000 miles on it! Got over 500,000 outa the 1st motor. I've beat the shit outa my ol' truck and it runs like a champ. Not as fancy as yours. just got 32's, off road clutch and custom pipes and a Jaguar hood ornament...... VERY NICE TRUCK! I'M JEALOUS!

  • @psychofishfan thanks man sounds like you got a fun toy, i got a v6 tho

  • Awesome. Nice work.

  • nice setup what kinda precautions are you taking so that the body doesnt rust off the frame lol engines are good but toyota has body issues

  • @mountianbikeer the front body mounts went threw so i welded re-enforcements brackets/plates over the old spots, solid as fuck know

  • dude you should be proud. thats a one of a kind tacoma

  • Wanna sell it?

  • @steve7547 not really, but theirs always the right price ha

  • thats a fuckin beautiful truck man

  • How do you keep the IFS from falling apart. I know you don't do any serious offroading, but was just curious. I only have 32's on mine and i barely drive offroad and I've already had to do the ball joints twice in one year.

  • u lucky bastard!!!

Badass Truck! My father gots an 87, that thing still running! Amazing!!!

  • Hey man, I was wondering how you like those 38's with IFS. I have an IFS too with 35's, been thinking about going with 37 MTRs or 38's. Have you broken anything?

  • its fun, with the ifs it handles alot better, and u cant take corners way faster, pull some dog legs, i blew the rear end, and put the body lift thro the floor but i havent broke any thing in the ifs, ive broke the hubs, but that will happen anyway. i would do it, this isnt my wheeler most of the flamers on youtube think that its all about flex and shit, but i need my truck as a daily driver, to get my quad to the dunes, and rally the dunes and be reliable

  • and when you start getting into wheeling hard then you just break more stuff. I have another truck i wheel that im fine with being a peice, its got straight axle. its all about preference and what you do. If you into wheeling and rock crawling go with straight axle but i dont wheel i just mud bog and dunes so thats why i never bother wit sas. Sas will increase the price of your truck tho when you sell it so think about that.

  • @DeathSycthe02 ever thought of the long travel kit from total chaos? sweet in the dunes if rocks aint your thing

  • @DeathSycthe02 the setup sounds good, im curious how the 5.29's have been for you? im about to get some.

  • @howtokillawerewolf i blew my rear end and had to rebuild it, its torque as hell, they lasted a good 5 years so im happy, but i was pretty hard, power shifting and drifting ha, i just go new yukons tho so!

  • Yeah I know what you mean man. Every one and their dad says IFS is crap, but I tell them its MY truck. lol My trucks also a daily, but I wheel it alot too hoping nothing will break. lol I'll most likely go to 37 MTRs because they offer decent traction and are good on the streets. thanks for the info man and goodluck with your truck

  • so hard to find old school toyota's now days! btw nice truck

  • nice truck mate, fuck the twats that think they know it all or why you built it or that there trucks better.why does everyone need to prove something, sad sad little people...

  • Still though, even if your not rock crawling, this idiot could have built a way better truck for his money and time instead of that stupid fucking show truck. Take it wheeling film it you wont.

  • i already have a wheeler and a mud bogger, this is not suppost to be a wheeler

  • reliable winter DD > Rock crawler / swampper

  • soooooooo sexy :) and dont worry bout having ifs unless u rock crawl u dont need another solid axle

  • Still IFS, holy shit you must be joking haha wow

  • if you do an sas dont put in 5:29 gears again, they are too weak do 4.88

  • That is brilliant. With the mods, is it still as reliable as stock?

  • why would u do all that and not do a SAS?

  • Yeah no shit... Irt could have looked even better and actually been usefull hahaha dumb people

  • fuck urself

  • It's mainly a street truck. No lockers. No crawl box. No armoring at all (but nice and shiny anyway). No winch, no snorkel. Just the lift and the tires. It's a clean looking truck for sure, and a little better than a stock one off road, but it would be much more capable if the mods were prioritized differently, even for the same amount of money.

With all that said, IFS is better for street driving, so it makes sense he'd keep the IFS.

  • nice, what motor are you runnin?

  • v6 3L

  • that song sucks and im sure you have a terrible taste in music now and my high sierra will fucking leave your shit in the pit

  • and your fucking sierra wont be an obstacle for my titan dude

  • that truck is bomb dude!!

  • That's a 'handsome' truck you've got there :-)

  • That's NOT an 89, it's likley a 92 or 93.

  • lol its an 89, i think i would know

  • I have a 95 and on my grill in the front it has what looks like some kind of black paint or coloring of some sort and on yours I noticed all chrome any suggestions of getting it off?? If it helps my truck is like a charcoal, slate looking color not red so do you think maybe it came like that from the factory ??

  • Comment removed

  • since you own the same year as me i figure id ask you this question... my 89 has a 6 cylinder and i took the bed off to build a wooden one...so it run for a while after that then the fuel pump stoped u could put gas in and itd fire then it stopped doin that now the fuel pump dont work and it dont have fire...would it be the ignitor would that have to do with the pump not workin??...please help...thanks

  • beautiful truck, i love it

  • damn, looks like some people are hating on this truck haha. Kid dont listen to this ozark kid, your truck is a straight body, and looks like it has no rust. Looks like u take care of your rig and thats all that matters. We have almost identical trucks right now (cept mines a 94, 3.0l and in parts cause im doing a sas.) But honestly the way your truck sits is just fine. Dont do a sas unless you want to get into some serious money, and some serious wheeling. But for just playing around, its fine

  • Clean looking truck. How's the mileage and performance with those tires and gears? My 1990 feels sluggish as it is with stock tires and no lift! Does it have lockers?

IMO, 38" tires are really a bit too big for these trucks. They just don't have the power, and you run the risk of breaking shit in the axle. One that has 33" tires and lockers, even another IFS rig, is gonna spank one with 38's and open diffs on *or* off road. My two cents.

  • how much was the lift kit on your truck

  • that ozark kid is a douche. who talks shit about someone elses rig? you got a badass truck bro. who cares if you only did drive it around town or not. fuck all them kids with baby shrimp dicks hatin'

  • i had a nice 89 like that and fucked it up by putting a 350 in it a 39in supper swampers, now its just dumb to drive.

  • yeah that was a dumb move...

  • tires are a bit big haha...she's a beauty tho

  • makes me miss mine soo much! sick yota man

  • add another 10,000

  • truck looks sick!!! Are those the 1.5" Bushwacker fender flares?

  • yea
