Formula 1 was easy after 1994? you mean there were no good drivers? Well, that´s not true! Gerhard Berger won 8 races until 1993 in 9 years. But he won ONLY 2 races after 1994, in 4 years.
Success in Formula 1 was still very difficult after 1994. It seems, for Berger, even more difficult than in the 80´s! While Schumacher, having those difficulties, succeded.
He is the most disgraced and penalized driver ever. It is a proof he is playing the game unfair. He never had a team mate with the same car or contract. No wonder all the guys would have loved to drive against him. Wait and see how much of a fuck up he really was and is. At least 5 of his titels are scandals. Es wird einfach keinen Fahrer mehr geben der so eine Welle von Erfolgen und Weltmeistertitel mit sich ziehen kann. Michael hat Deutschland zum Rennfahrerland gemacht. What a useless life - spent going around and around in a circle faster and faster. rich fools with more time than brains. Hopefully one day the auto executives will stop poring millions into this uselss sport. The world is suffering, markets collasping and this nonsensensical sport takes millions away from auto companies.

While some of the drivers may have paid for their seats in the past, the vast majority have to fight their way up and have genuine talent which they deserve to be paid for, especially people like Schumacher. Formula one has always been the technologoical forefront of the automotive industry - without it the car companies would be so much further behind and would have had to spend MUCH more developing such things than in the F1 atmosphere! Face it, F1 isnt just fun, its useful.

Agreed. I'm the biggest Ayrton Sennna fan there is - but more important than even that is a fair go for all. Bruno has milked his name to get even as far as he has at the expense of better kids. It ain't fair. But business is also spelt N-E-P-O-T-I-S-M and we've seen in F1an epidemic of sons of former drivers - Hill, Villeneuve, Rosberg, Nakajima, Piquet and soon Senna (nephew).
None of them would have got to F1 without their Dad's names. It's bullshit!
You are dead right they shouldnt get into F1 at the expense of other kids just because of their name, but in one way I sort of like seeing the old names re-appear just to remind me of the good old days. But then they are no match for the senior versions so it is a waiste of time in the long run. Just imagine in a few years we might have Senna, Prost and Mansell back on the grid. Thats got to be worth watching for old times sake.
I think Ferrai expected Kimi to take over from Schumi and Massa to be a reliable number 2 - but Kimi has disappointed - still a bit hard to work it out - coz no doubt he was quick at McLaren. Either the car suited him better and he can't adapt or he just has lost interest.
I expected him to take over from Schumi too. (Though he won the title - it's clear now he is no Schumi) He's only the 2nd driver in 20 years I've predicted wrongly - the first was Magnussen who was a big disappointment too.
Yeah the flying fin will retire this year i feel, he has been very dissapointing this year. Aonso may take his place and things may get interesting. Ive just read that Kubica has resigned but for only 1 year so he may go to Ferrari in 2010. That will be good. Think Mclaren and Hami may struglle for the next few hotter races. Hope he can pull it off though. I think with one title under his belt Hami will flurish.
The telltale sign with Kimni is the number of mistakes - he's made more in 1.5 season at Ferrari than the rest of his career - so to be honest I think he is past it. Probably the iceman is the coolest driver ever - as in he really doesn't seem to give a shit about anything. I admire his speed (when he is on it) but I dont like his attitude. Spoilt brat.
Yeah I wanna see Kubica team with Hami if possible - but unlikely as teams shy away from joint number 1's these days - it sux!
Hami may well win more WC's than Schumi over next 15 years - if he gets the best car often enough). I expect his mistakes to start thinning out next year and bu 2010 he'll be solid - leaving him 10 to 12 years to clean-up. So I don't want him to have it all handed on a plate - I want to see him in b-grade cars sometimes - like Senna, Prost, Mansell and every other driver had to accept at times.
The cars are now much easier to drive than 20 years ago (and not much faster) and the danger is almost gone - only about 1% chance of death now. In the 50's and 60's it was genuine russian roullette - worse - a 1 in 3 chance of dying if you drover for 5 years. In the 70's still extremely deadly. Even the 80's was watermelon cojunes time. By 90's we thought it was safe but sadly the King died and shocked us all. Now it really is pretty safe. Death in F1 may be a 1 in 20 year event from here on.
It is amazing how drivers walk away from accidents these days. Look at Kubica last year, how did he get out of that? I agree totaly with your opinions on the current grid. Hami has talent, but i think that kubica in a mclaren or ferrari would piss over them all and Vettel looks good to. Will have to wait and see. Although you are annoying as hell to debate with, you are correct most of the time. Take it easy.
There can still be fatal accidents - just very unlikely. But still may happen.
It shits me that the top teams keep selecting number 2 drivers just to prevent internal war. Ferrari with Barrichello was the worst. But also Renault with Fisichella. Now McLaren with Heikki. Only Williams never succumbed to this farce - he remembers the old shool spirit of racing, which is, duh, racing - seemingly forgotten in the modern era.
I'm just glad video tape was invented before the golden era ended!
(Of course Hami may end up #1 statistically, but that don't make the greatest driver - just as Senna was better than Prost and Schui despite winning less races. The context is what matters.)
Hamilton? I hate that he walked into the top car - you gotta earn that privilege and NO rookie has ever done enough to in F3, F3000, GP2 whatever to justify that. Having said that - he is the only one there now with the potential to join the all-time greats. He has made a lot of mistakes - more than Senna and Schumi at the same satge, so maybe he will never make their grade. But he may end up a top 10-er.
Extremely disappointed with Kimi - has raw talent but lazy attitude. Exactly like montoya was - both spoilt brat prima donna types. Alonso is similar though not quite as bad. Kovalainen is another Fischella - waste of space - doesn't deserve the best car. Massa - good when evrything is perfect but shithouse when not. Far from complete. I'm afraid none of them are even in Schumi's league much less Senna's.
You can only beat the people you are racing. My guess is that if 94 never happened schumi would of upped his game even further due to the competition of senna. They would have had great battles and probably shared the titles between the 2 of them. To say that senna would of won them all is stupid as you yourself have said that the championship involves luck.
Schu's superior podium rate is massively exaggerated as all the other great drivers (in the earlier decades) had significant numbers of mechanical failures.
Senna's pole strikerate was over 40% (unmatched in the modern era). Higher than Schui's win strikerate. (And as Senna himself said; "Qualifying shows you the real truth about best drivers - the races inviolve luck" For you to ignore poles and single out this bullshit fastest lap statistic just shows your irrational blind bias. You might as well look at "fastest 17th laps of the race" or "fastest laps in morning warm-up" - utterly irrelevant to anything as its not uniform context"

I am mearly trying to defend schumacher as you make him out to be a crap driver with a good car and tactics. The tactics only woked because shumi was so good at banging in much fatser lap times than anyone else when he needed to. Poles were not as important in schumis day due to no refueling.

Die Frage der Rufschädigung durch so einen Comeback kann man nie im Vorfeld klären!
Sollte er vorne mitfahren (Top 5), dann sollte sein Ruf nicht geschädigt werden.
Sollte er aber nicht vorne mitfahren oder zu viele Fehler machen, zu oft ausfallen,... dann wird sein Ruf sicherlich geschädigt.
Dennoch bin ich auch sehr froh, dass er wieder da ist.
Und jetzt heißt es abwarten :o)

Schumi war und ist einfach der beste ich als Mädchen habe keine einziges Rennen verpasst.JEdes Rennen von ihm war einzigartig und die Erinnerungen werden immer in mir bleiben. Es wird einfach keinen Fahrer mehr geben der so eine Welle von Erfolgen und Weltmeistertitel mit sich ziehen kann. Michael hat Deutschland zum Rennfahrerland gemacht. Ja kann mich nur anschliessen,Schumi ist und war ein unglaublicher Fahrer,ich bin seit 1990 Schumi fan und damals hoffte ich das er bald in die Formel 1 kommt und 1991 war es endlich soweit,damals sagten alle zu mir "Aus dem wird doch nix" aber sie wurden alle eines besseren belehrt! Ha - the siutation in the world economy is bearing me out. just like i always said. The car companies are coming to their senses and slowly pulling out from useless sports like these.I have to shake my head when I hear how 'so much technology' have come from this venue. It's lawsuits and Gov't legislation that force car companies to bring the right technology to the fore.This is a rich man's sport and fills the appetite of the simple minded middle class to fill their empty lives with 'meaning'

What a useless life - spent going around and around in a circle faster and faster. rich fools with more time than brains. While some of the drivers may have paid for their seats in the past, the vast majority have to fight their way up and have genuine talent which they deserve to be paid for, especially people like Schumacher. Formula one has always been the technologoical forefront of the automotive industry - without it the car companies would be so much further behind and would have had to spend MUCH more developing such things than in the F1 atmosphere! Face it, F1 isnt just fun, its useful.

Not sure about Bruno joining F1 either, I think gerhard is letting his old friendship cloud his judgement. He hasn,t won GP2 yet and that looks unlikely. He will never be able to get away from the name. Should make loads of dosh though.

Agreed. I'm the biggest Ayrton Sennna fan there is - but more important than even that is a fair go for all. Bruno has milked his name to get even as far as he has at the expense of better kids. It ain't fair. But business is also spelt N-E-P-O-T-I-S-M and we've seen in F1an epidemic of sons of former drivers - Hill, Villeneuve, Rosberg, Nakajima, Piquet and soon Senna (nephew).
None of them would have got to F1 without their Dad's names. It's bullshit!

You are dead right they shouldnt get into F1 at the expense of other kids just because of their name, but in one way I sort of like seeing the old names re-appear just to remind me of the good old days. But then they are no match for the senior versions so it is a waiste of time in the long run. Just imagine in a few years we might have Senna, Prost and Mansell back on the grid. Thats got to be worth watching for old times sake.

I think Ferrai expected Kimi to take over from Schumi and Massa to be a reliable number 2 - but Kimi has disappointed - still a bit hard to work it out - coz no doubt he was quick at McLaren. Either the car suited him better and he can't adapt or he just has lost interest.
I expected him to take over from Schumi too. (Though he won the title - it's clear now he is no Schumi) He's only the 2nd driver in 20 years I've predicted wrongly - the first was Magnussen who was a big disappointment too.

Yeah the flying fin will retire this year i feel, he has been very dissapointing this year. Aonso may take his place and things may get interesting. Ive just read that Kubica has resigned but for only 1 year so he may go to Ferrari in 2010. That will be good. Think Mclaren and Hami may struglle for the next few hotter races. Hope he can pull it off though. I think with one title under his belt Hami will flurish.

The telltale sign with Kimni is the number of mistakes - he's made more in 1.5 season at Ferrari than the rest of his career - so to be honest I think he is past it. Probably the iceman is the coolest driver ever - as in he really doesn't seem to give a shit about anything. I admire his speed (when he is on it) but I dont like his attitude. Spoilt brat.
Yeah I wanna see Kubica team with Hami if possible - but unlikely as teams shy away from joint number 1's these days - it sux!

Hami may well win more WC's than Schumi over next 15 years - if he gets the best car often enough). I expect his mistakes to start thinning out next year and bu 2010 he'll be solid - leaving him 10 to 12 years to clean-up. So I don't want him to have it all handed on a plate - I want to see him in b-grade cars sometimes - like Senna, Prost, Mansell and every other driver had to accept at times.

The cars are now much easier to drive than 20 years ago (and not much faster) and the danger is almost gone - only about 1% chance of death now. In the 50's and 60's it was genuine russian roullette - worse - a 1 in 3 chance of dying if you drover for 5 years. In the 70's still extremely deadly. Even the 80's was watermelon cojunes time. By 90's we thought it was safe but sadly the King died and shocked us all. Now it really is pretty safe. Death in F1 may be a 1 in 20 year event from here on.

It is amazing how drivers walk away from accidents these days. Look at Kubica last year, how did he get out of that? I agree totaly with your opinions on the current grid. Hami has talent, but i think that kubica in a mclaren or ferrari would piss over them all and Vettel looks good to. Will have to wait and see. Although you are annoying as hell to debate with, you are correct most of the time. Take it easy.

There can still be fatal accidents - just very unlikely. But still may happen.
It shits me that the top teams keep selecting number 2 drivers just to prevent internal war. Ferrari with Barrichello was the worst. But also Renault with Fisichella. Now McLaren with Heikki. Only Williams never succumbed to this farce - he remembers the old shool spirit of racing, which is, duh, racing - seemingly forgotten in the modern era.
I'm just glad video tape was invented before the golden era ended!

(Of course Hami may end up #1 statistically, but that don't make the greatest driver - just as Senna was better than Prost and Schui despite winning less races. The context is what matters.)

Hamilton? I hate that he walked into the top car - you gotta earn that privilege and NO rookie has ever done enough to in F3, F3000, GP2 whatever to justify that. Having said that - he is the only one there now with the potential to join the all-time greats. He has made a lot of mistakes - more than Senna and Schumi at the same satge, so maybe he will never make their grade. But he may end up a top 10-er.

So - current drivers:
Extremely disappointed with Kimi - has raw talent but lazy attitude. Exactly like montoya was - both spoilt brat prima donna types. Alonso is similar though not quite as bad. Kovalainen is another Fischella - waste of space - doesn't deserve the best car. Massa - good when evrything is perfect but shithouse when not. Far from complete. I'm afraid none of them are even in Schumi's league much less Senna's.

You can only beat the people you are racing. My guess is that if 94 never happened schumi would of upped his game even further due to the competition of senna. They would have had great battles and probably shared the titles between the 2 of them. To say that senna would of won them all is stupid as you yourself have said that the championship involves luck.

Senna: 44 mechanical failures in 10 years/160GP
Schu: 0 mechanical failures in 5 years/90GP
Schu's superior podium rate is massively exaggerated as all the other great drivers (in the earlier decades) had significant numbers of mechanical failures.

Senna's pole strikerate was over 40% (unmatched in the modern era). Higher than Schui's win strikerate. (And as Senna himself said; "Qualifying shows you the real truth about best drivers - the races inviolve luck" For you to ignore poles and single out this bullshit fastest lap statistic just shows your irrational blind bias. You might as well look at "fastest 17th laps of the race" or "fastest laps in morning warm-up" - utterly irrelevant to anything as its not uniform context"

Irrational blind bias, that is you not me. I have already had conversations with you about this and agree senna was the fastest and probably the best of all time in regards to natural born talent. I am mearly trying to defend schumacher as you make him out to be a crap driver with a good car and tactics. The tactics only woked because shumi was so good at banging in much fatser lap times than anyone else when he needed to. Poles were not as important in schumis day due to no refueling.
