  • Regrettably, I grew up with Terminator 2 before I ever saw the first. The stop motion makes such an effective scene. It really does move like a cold-calculating machine that's been injured. The close up on its eyes as it refocuses its lens is just such a great detail.

  • Ha, stop action is so cheesy, but I thought it really made it scary when it was coming down the hallway.

  • Who among us did not shed a tear when his little red eye went out in the end, and he didn't get to kill all those people? -Barney Stinson-

  • I laughed so hard when the robot started walking.

    Lol 80's.

  • 1:26 b*tch slap

  • CGI will NEVER beat this great puppetry !!

  • Thumbs up if you think this stop-motion Endoskelton is the scariest and best of all the Endos in T2, T3 and TS... I think it is easily.

  • Its funny that stop motion looks creepy in Terminator...because its laughable in Robocop and in Ghostbusters!

  • That would be funny if the machine terminator randomly said "fawk you asswhore" when slapping Reese.

  • way better than cgi. if only the make it look real again

  • @GodzillaFan64 : damn,i tought i was a freak;I remember i was so fuckin scared!

  • real robotics and great pupperteering make classics like evil dead poltergeist freddy jason american warewolf and etc shit shit na mean and they try to do remakes yea right leave it alone or be origanal and do the old stuff one last time

  • The problem with CG is that it's too sleak and smooth. There's no grit, no presence and no charm. The combination of stop motion and puppetry make the terminator feel real and truly scary as it's movements are just like how a machine would move.

  • Fun Fact: 2:27 A crew member is blowing cigarette smoke for the shot. =D

  • bein was too good.....

  • This terminator moves different from the others.

  • It's the motions that make it extra scary. It isn't even trying to pass for human anymore.

  • Ur terminated fucker!!

  • Take that F"Ker!.

  • make it stop! make it stop! D:

  • 1:28 HAYAA!

  • I thought this movie was sooooooooooooooo scary when i saw it, and I think the same now! Eew, they are so scary, but so interesting at the same time! :O :D

  • I love practical effects. However, the CG in Rise Of The Planet Of The apes was amazing. I'm sorry, but the CG showed so much emotion, it was amazingly realistic. But it still doesn't beat the classic original. But the practical effects in Terminator were amazing, purely amazing.

  • I think this terminator looks scary in stop motion becvause the unnatural jerkiness inevitably caused by stop motion makes it seem unnatural. CGI is too refined to work for The terminator because if flows too smoothly.

  • I saw this in early 90's.. ooyes! Small kid back then. Many hours with Terminator : ) And im with u other guys about the stopmotion, it's a whole different perspective and feeling just looking on that metal-fucker! 0:16 - 0:24 WOW! just got'a love the scene.

  • I pity the new generation who think CGI is the shit. No modern day CGI can even come close to the terrifying Terminator robot, or the monsters in the Thing, or the zombies in the original Dawn of the dead. The youth have been brainwashed in thinking film-making has advanced when in reality it is deteriorating. So sad :(

  • this cold determination...

  • YAR TARMAINATED FACKER!

  • Jesus the stop motion makes it look TERRFYING

  • For a production team that had virtually no money, were on a very tight budget they made a damn good film with tremendous realistic looking special effects. They should of left Terminator alone after the second one 3 was OK but salvation was crap!!

  • scared the shit outta me as a kid! still does today.

  • it sucks arnold in salvations bad and dies

  • It's a Ray Harrryhason monster that is

  • @busterboy6011 Nope. Stan Winston.

  • When i first watched this scene i couldn't stand it because of the crappy effects. Now i am enjoying it.

  • this is not gay...its pretty scary and kinda cool

  • I know the animation sucks but this is scary shit. I forgot how to sleep after I saw the end

  • imagine if that walked into your house or even better if it was standing at the foot of your bed

  • Gosh to think I watched this around 6/7...Still scares me now a bit haha!

  • If you pause at exactly 1:28, it is not reese, its his stunt double, it is ony a flash like a 1/4 of a second so it may take a while to pause at his face...

  • AHAHAHAHAH 8D

  • Fake and Gay :l

  • @xFegzx You thought that they were actually going to travel in time and get the real Terminator? No. This was awesome in the 80s', young one.

  • this actually use to scare me....real shyt

  • After it came out on VHS. I remember in kindergarten mimicking the limp and robotic head movements. Freaked out my teacher and classmates. Ahh~ good stuff.

  • I think CGI is a good thing but when cutting things like blood on the terminator or any horror movie, it should be like some plastic kind of thing, u know like those wierd pranking toys

  • Stop motion looks so fake and dumb

  • @eyescreamcake CGI is no better

  • @TheRitchardgaleHater Depends on how much work they put into it, I guess. The stop motion robot looks fake and dumb, while the CGI robots look fine. The CGI Arnold looks fake and dumb, though, while the fake Arnold cutting himself open in front of the mirror looks fine.

  • @eyescreamcake Yeah, but I'd still choose this over CGI, CGI just looks like something that doesn't exist in the move, like you can't touch it, using real puppets and non-CGI stuff looks better in my opinion and I'd choose it over CGI any day

  • @TheRitchardgaleHater They should just use real Terminators!

  • @eyescreamcake That would be awesome...And scary

  • @eyescreamcake sorry I meant movie not move hehe

  • Why can't I find the whole movie uncut? Why?

  • i cant belive i was scared of this scene when i was five

  • there's something about stop motion animated robots that makes them ten times scarier than the ones in terminator salvation!

  • @yurtubsuks, It's bit strange that while the stopmotion Terminator is a bit dated, it really is quite creepy.

  • Comment removed

  • @yurtubsuks I totally agree! - Sorry I realise this is an old comment, but omg, I watched this one and compared it to Terminator 2 (even though its epic) and 3, this one scares the shit out of me, even though it's the oldest and should be less scary O_o...

  • @yurtubsuks : Because it "walks" like a robot. Not smooth !

  • They only showed one part of sarah connor in this clip

  • When I was a kid I had nightmares of this stopmotion animation marching into my room. STOPMOTION MAKES IT LOOK SCARY. FUCK CG, USE STOPMOTION.

  • @GodzillaFan64 Me too

  • @GodzillaFan64 youre right... im a cg artist but youre right...

  • @GodzillaFan64 Damn, I thought I was the only one who shit himself because of the way it moved :D

You just made a big part of my childhood feel right again...

  • @GodzillaFan64 ...or just build a real one ;D scary that we actually have the tech to do it now....

    :/

  • @GodzillaFan64

    THIS

The stopmotion Cyclops from Sinbad was terrifying when I was a kid. It just makes them look so uncanny. Like they're real but not quite. CGI however just looks fake.

  • Still 10 times better than CGI

  • This scene was scary to me when i was a kid.

  • How did Kyle die again?

  • @Cpnowys1awsome

Fell down the stairs after as the pipe-bomb went off and blew the Terminator in half, either got hit by shrapnel (his face is pretty bloody afterwards) or broke his neck in the fall.

  • @Cpnowys1awsome he got shot earlier, bitch slapped twice by arnie and then got hit by his own bomb right there being a couple of steps away near the explosion

  • If I was in charge of making a terminator movie(LOL) I'd make it stop motion, cuz that shit is scary and badass, not like that CG BS

  • Man the Stop-Motion FX of the Terimnator scared the living shit out of me as a kid!

  • cool!

  • This scene wasn't scary it was awsome

  • The crappy effects made it creepy as shit!

  • I'm still having nightmares about this thing... and the robot sounds it makes when moving. D:

  • THIS is true horror movie music!!

  • Man, this was so scary when I was little!

  • The sounds that come off that thing when it maneuvers. *Spine tingling*

  • 1:28 BITCH SLAP

  • isnt sarah supposed to say ''you 're terminated''?

  • I guess that with that press...

    (puts sunglasses on)

    all resistance will be crushed.

"YEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAH!" Won't be fooled again! Won't be fooled again no no!

  • the music beginning at 0:33 is awesome- they used it in the robocop trailer also!

  • these sinbad type effects areso much better than todays cgi

  • Someone needs to add the fuck scene also

  • Way more creepy

  • 1:23 i like that MOTHEERRRFUUCCKKERRRR

  • This is why I'm scared of robots :/

  • Amazing video..There is no movies like this anymore..

  • R.I.P. Stan Winston...

  • The sound of the terminators in salvation sound cool, the clanking of the gears inside. But I think they should have kept the sound of this terminator in all films. It just sounds more robotic.

  • I know that this is really old and the effects aren't that good, but i find it kinda creepy

  • Man, the whole time, the poor terminator must be thinking: "agh... battle... damage. Must... get to Bio-flesh Regenerator."

  • the stop motion in this movie

    is so beast!!!

i wish movie robots were like this :(

  • what series is this terminator ? T-600 ?

  • @thejimmydee Model T-101 T-800

  • @iiPwNzZz99x Its T-800 but not 101... model 101 was in a second movie

  • @MrKerag they are both t-800s model 101 is the flesh sheath.

  • @stanleythedoogle no...model 101 means 101st terminator in a production... if you watch both movies carefully youll notice that in a first movie Reese sayed that these terminators were new...so there was only 101 made in total at the moment when resistance got in to the factory.. book says that John Connor chose the last one - 101st for sending in to the past. That means that first T-800 was something from 1 to 100. Most likely 100... because Skynet was sending them at the very last moment.

  • @MrKerag negative, James Cameron says: "the model 101s all look like Arnold Schwarzenegger, with a 102 looking like someone else"

  • @stanleythedoogle whaaat? where did he say that...never heard of that...

  • @MrKerag in an interview.

  • @stanleythedoogle allright.

  • @stanleythedoogle : right

  • @thejimmydee T-800

  • I remember when I saw this movie when I was a little kid and I was like "WOW this is so cool!" and I still think that! :D

  • I remember watching this as a little kid.The most Freaking awesome movie ever!!!!

  • I have seen the movie only once so this is a real treat

  • I had one or two nightmares about this as a kid.

  • @Althemor i agree with u

  • That is the most unreal thing ever

  • just funny how a self-built grenade can blow this T-800 up, or how even a shotgun can make it stagger backwards/ fly through a window/ fall down, but three rounds of a grenade launcher in Terminator - Salvation do nothing but to burn its skin off...

oh, and why didn´t the T-800 explode? Doesn´t the one out of T - 3 have two highly explosive fusion reactors or something like that inside? And this one is being squished by a mechanical press and just... well, stops working.

  • @Althemor thats because of time with movies you get differant directors, some crapy = T3 others good = T2

  • @Althemor You fool! Your logic and well constructed/valid arguments have no place here in youtube!

  • @juki009 Well, as far as I´m aware, comments on youtube are meant to be your thoughts / your opinion about the content of the video you are commenting, so I do not see any trouble with what I said. If I look at it from a logical point than what is wrong about that? It´s not that I want to decry the Terminator movies; in fact, I watched all four films and mostly liked them. So please refrain from calling me (or anybody else) a fool because of that.

  • @Althemor I was being sarcastic

  • Comment removed

  • @Althemor The Terminator in T-3 is actually a T-850, which use a different power source than the T-800.

And the T-800 seen in Terminator Salvation is a prototype an was built more fortified than the the ones that were later put into production.

  • @Axitica Who cares about the power source. Only Terminator 1 and 2 are canon.

  • @Althemor : And that's exactly why I hate the new terminator movies.

  • lol that was funny how he was still alive after the blow he looked like a zombie crawling and saying "I want yourrr wiiifffeee"

  • so hes fast when he has skin and slow when he has no skin? cuz there was a part where he started running

  • @icebreakersix1nine If you look at this left leg, you see that the rod for the calf hydraulic piston is disconnected. It got damaged when he got ran over by an 18 wheeler and its leg got caught near the drive shaft of the tractor.

  • Arnold: Best bad terminator and best (only) good terminator

  • I wish the T-800 lived.....if it were a T-700 or T-600 I don't really care.....yes,I can tell the difference from T-700 and T-800.It's really simple.It's only that T-800 is silver and T-700 is black.

  • 1:29 : 1:31 did the terminator bitch slap him?

  • You're Terminated F***ker!!!!!

  • Stan Winston.

    Artist.

    Genius.

    Nightmare fuel.

  • As much as i liked T2, it could never even come close to this movie

  • He just got owned by basic technology

  • The Robot movement in this is very creepy, better than cgi. It's foot/leg is messed up from the explosion! cut it some slack!

  • The first time we got to see the iconic T-800 in its glory.

  • man terminator is good :D

  • the way it moves is fucking creepy. thats what makes it one of the best

  • nice but i believe he like wrecked his leg in the script or not but that would be stupid cuz then it would be like karate kid skin on really fast skin off really fuckin slow

  • Hahaha the frame rate is terrible!

  • @dycarbon1

I guess that they used the stop-motion tech to make these scenes.

  • @dycarbon1 LOL well this is 1984....

  • funny to see how inteligent machine like terminator get fucked by something what can do just move down and up

  • I prefer these old type of robot movies, where the robot is clunky and slow, unlike todays robot movies where the robots move fluidly, way too human like. It defeats the point of them being a scary machine, in this scene, the stop motion and animatronic special effects give the terminator a very ominousness presence, unlike the robots from I Robot or Transformers.

  • @MachineKing1313 I agree. The stop motion Terminator actually gave me the creeps as a kid. Although Arnold was one of my heros (when I was young), this scene always gave me the creeps. When you see this, you wonder how scary would it be to have a Terminator come back in time to kill you? While T2 makes it look awseome to have a Terminator by your side.

  • @MachineKing1313 Yeah, this style is WAY scarier! I'd absolutely shit a brick if I saw a terminator like this ... :D

  • @MachineKing1313 You have a good point.

In this movie, the robot is it's own type of fear. A slow, clunky, deadly presence. There's no mistaking it, it's a robot, and you don't need to be imagining yourself in that situation to be scared. It's a psychological fear of machine, of rebellion, of the future.

Today's movie invoke practical fear. It's not fear of machine, but of death in general. Replace the robots with aliens of the same danger, and the movie doesn't really change that much.

  • @MachineKing1313 I-Robot, they could have used animatronics, but transformers? I don't think they would build 30ft. animatronics or stop motion models. But still this movie is bad-ass.

  • @MachineKing1313 although I agree... the whole point of the Terminators was to make them look and move as human as possible so it kind of didn't make sense why the robot all of a sudden became jerky... Still an all time great movie though...

  • @MachineKing1313 But then that just defeats the purpose of those two movies.

  • lol nice movement termy

  • This scared the pee outta me when I was a kid, and, to this very day, it's spine tingling!!! This will always be my FAVE!

  • If you would've began this video just TEN SECONDS earlier, it'd have been PERFECT! I wanna see the machine RISE FROM THE FLAMES, damnit!!!

  • i just watched the robot chicken version of this where inspector gadget gets killed.

    "go go gadget foot"

  • that stop motion is horrific

  • @cameronman93 IKR

  • Its head never come apart and it blow its lower half off

  • I find it odd that the T-800 got blown off to pieces, but it was supposed to be SLICED IN HALF! The head also got "re-attached".

  • Comment removed

  • stopmotion make it real creepy

  • @buokopter I like pissed my pants cuz i was like 6 when i saw this

  • @snakebitehurts i was 1 year older than you,it was scarier for me and because of that i pissed in my pants 3 times.

  • @buokopter your right on that bro

  • @buokopter

So true, this scared the shit out of me when I was a child

  • @buokopter Thats what makes it soo F-UCKING AWESOME!!!!!! :D

  • @buokopter I think the cheap stop motion makes it more scary.

  • I like this better then the CGI one.

  • he walks like if he was out of battery or something probably because the special FXs werent THAT good but also he was burning on fire

  • wicked CGI from the year I was born, 1984

  • hey cool its 3D!

  • sound fx in german version are better
