I bought this album back in the 70's when I was in college. Coltrane's tone at this time was my favorite. It's breathtaking. Kenny Burrell's accompaniment is 'spot on'. This became a 'classic' while they were recording it:)

In the name of all drummers and bass players out there, I really want to apologize for spoiling "beauty" with annoying and useless crap such as drums patterns and bass lines. We're really sorry, we just can't help it, and these other guys with horns and guitars and keyboards, well, they actually let us in the recording studios, and f**k the whole thing up. Don't know why, maybe they kinda like it, for some stupid reason. Anyway, sorry.
