I can't imagin how that must feel after the rope slips and you're sliding down the slant of a 42-story building after you've already seen how far up you are. Lucky for Sarah the she landed in the spot where she could be spotted by Chris.
That's actually the Smurfit-Stone building in Chicago. At only 582' tall & w/ several Chicago buildings being taller, including the Sears Tower, which is over twice it's size, it's amazing how they make this building look like the world's tallest here! Though it's till twice the height of any building here in the Peoria area (Peoria Twin Towers are our tallest at just under 300'), and a little too high to want to be dangling from when bad guys are chasing after you. LOL
(My comment contd) He is too old for a babysitter. If the girl who played Chris was actually 17 or 18 when this film was made then it wouldn't have been so weird. She actually would've looked closer in age to the guy who played Brad who was 16 i believe when this film was made. And the girl who played chris was 23 or 24 i think. Oh well, it doesn't matter it's just a film.
@EmRaider99 Yeah she was 24 Elisabeth Shue here, mind you to look at her, you would never think so and the other boy Keith Coogan was 17, so there was 7 year gap in age.
@MeBenHalpin, yeah, she does look older than 17. And I can't believe he was 17. He looks about 15 or 16 in the film. His voice wasn't even deep yet & kept cracking.
@EmRaider99 Technically she wasn't meant to "Baby sit" Brad. Remember she was really only supposed to take care of his sister because Brad was going to spend the night at his friend's house. There was just a change of plans. Also it didn't seem like his parents trusted him to watch Sarah alone.
Just saw it for the first time on tv a few days ago...loved it. now one of my fav films! :) Thanks for posting so i can watch the unedited version. Very nice & hilarious!!! I love Brad. So sweet. Chris should've gone for him. He's only 2 years younger. I would date someone who was 2 years younger if he was mature and sweet and stuff. Anyways, i guess it would have been weird since she was babysitting him & all but he is 15. I was babysitting people when i was 11 or 12.
This such a classic movie, i remember going to see this on 59th st & 3rd ave(right across from Bloomingdale's). By the way, what's the name of that song in this scene?
wow, i forgot how much they got away with swearing back then. And this is supposed to be a family film! dropping the F bomb TWICE in this movie, saying "jesus" and "jesus christ" over and over again. It's kind of ironic that they'd never get away with it nowadays, considering all the sex and violence we take for granted in today's movies.
@alienorange No offence I mean to you, but dont you watch movies today? Kids today are watching exocrist, Aliens VS Predator, Jurassic Park and all sorts of adult movies today. And todays kids movies have curssing, imoral behavior and murder, watch disneys atlantis, Titan AE, IceAge(they kill animals on there for the fun of it) and Tarzan, lion king. pirates of the carribean1,2,3 how many 3 year old watch that with their parent. no Tv has really degraded since then. no offence
@tinpax1 none taken. that's actually my point. It's ironic that kids were so innocent back then (at least, from what I observed) in spite of all the explicit content involved in those films/tv shows, but now they have to cut down on all the swearing because they became so vulgar, even though it really doesn't make a difference.
@alienorange, I don't think this was intended as a family film per se. It was meant for teens, and I think it was even rated PG-13.
Also, the ratings system has never been consistent. Movies today that are rated PG13 often feel way more family-oriented (Pirates, Whale Rider is even PG-13, which is ludicrous) than the milder-rated PG movies of the past like Raiders of the Lost Ark or Ghostbusters, movies which in my opinion, feel way more intense than today's stuff.
@CazK88 Seems like the copyright laws were less strict then or something. Probably think that less people would try to download the older ones since we can buy them pretty cheap now.
Yeah I thought that was the case. Because finding movies from 2000 - present is hard getting a hold of them. Since prior to 2000 you really didn't have many cases of copyright infringment as you do today. Interesting.
How horrifying!!To let that guy just hang out the window like that! To not even call the police about it or at least throw him the rope!.They all had a little chuckle about it."Oh him, ha ha, leave 'em hangin' out there for a while let 'em sweat it out!" sic Just Bad!!
why doesn't the hanging guy leave the little girl.. he wants to kill her and there's a good chance that she'll be dead if he leaves her there instead of going after her!
he wants the playboy mag wiv illegal details, on it which is in her backpack. if he fell, he would lose it. nd he doesn't really want her dead shes just a kid
