@toshishimura Actually, the 1,9 JTDm diesel engine is not a bad engine at all. You could get a chiptuning kit for a couple of hundred bucks which would increase the horsepower from 150 to 180, and the torque on that beast is insane! I've driven an Alfa Romeo 156 Q4 Crosswagon with the said engine, and the acceleration is insane, and even better, it doesn't sound like a diesel.
Although, I have to admit, there's something special about the Alfa's high revving petrol engines.
No one says Bad to diesel Engine .This is 2010 people world has moved on .they sound good they are as quick as Petrol and they are better to live with.

@SirWilliamLeys you said it one my friend.. ime looking now to chop my BM 320 ci sport for one of these.. but its a 3.2 V6 petrol for me.... Look and sound the dogs bollox.. i got a deisel van ... why the fuck would u want a diesel in a car as good as the GT ??
@PROTEK123 Diesel vans and diesel cars are a world of difference, nowadays we Common Rail technology is used and diesels get much more torque, more fuel economy and that means easier cruising, and great acceleration...drive a common rail diesel car (like the 320d or any german/alfa diesels) and you'll see the difference. My dad is a sporty driver and drives a 159 2.4JTDM and he's never going back to petrol again...personal preference?, but worth trying!

Have to agree. The word 'diesel' should never appear in the same sentence as Alfa Romeo.

Beatiful car, but totally ruined with the diesel engine!
Diesel is good for ships and tanks, not for an Alfa Romeo!!!

Che bella. Peccato che hanno tolto il 3.2 V6 da 260 cavalli, ma anche il 1.9 turbodisel da 170 cavalli è brillante.
rabadasho 2 years ago
Se ti riferisci al busso, era un V6 da 239 cavalli... nulla da dire, motore stupendo!!!

Sapevo fosse da 260 CV... ma vabbè gran macchina comunque.

I did the driving for this video. It's a lovely drive. I've since bought a Brera S 3.2 and that let me tell you is something else! Long live Alfa!
