(I ususally like rock or metal music...)

  • Vote Up. Definitely.

  • Vote Up. Definitely.

  • Songs don't usually make me cry. This one did. ♥

  • I love this song. But it makes me so sad.

  • This song is just so brilliant and sad yet true and deep. It gets me evey time, her voice is angelic here and that ending is so perfect. It's like strangely uplifting and moving as it grows in crescendo only to cut abrubtly and end sorta like life.

  • corecct me if im wrong but is the song about a girl and a guy and the girl tells him all her secrets and th guy doesnt really care and soon the guy leaves the girl. the girl was sad...and all.

  • @Kagome8055 I think the song is about death and how she realized seeing the snowman melt that everyone eventually will go away just like the snowman. At first she is shocked that he is gone then realizes its all of our fate. It think it represents our ignorance thinking that we can never die even though its inevitable. Beautiful.

  • @Kagome8055 No. It is about how we think that we are invincible and walk around with our head in the clouds. It shows someone who makes a snowman and he melts, baring her to the fact that we are removed from this planet almost as soon as we get here. It is a sign to love the things you have, though I can see how you would have thought that. Brava, Ingrid!!

  • @Kagome8055 Ingrid has said it is about death. "The snowman melts, just as we do."

  • I know this was probably written about a boyfriend and girlfriend relationship, but this is how I feel about my friends.

  • @cottoncandy113 No I don't think so. It is about our inevitable destiny. Some sooner than others.

  • @Luci57flavors yeah but in my head I pictured a relationship between a girl and a guy and how he's just going to leave. But that's just me cause friends grow apart, my guy friends have come and gone more than any of my friends though.

  • We Live in to Fickle A Society For Her Music To Be Appreciated For What It Is, Then For Her Music To Be Overlooked For What It Isnt.

  • this song makes me think. really deep.

not many songs can do that. <3

  • i dont think there is one song i dont love from her. ive check all the songs from her on youtbe today. ive been playing her songs all day... today has be perfect.

  • can someone post a tutorial of this song please???

  • So I'm listening to this song (I love it, that's a given), but I'm not entirely sure what it's message is. So this man melted; as in left? So everyone leaves some point in all relationships? Can someone clarify this for me? That would be awesome (:, much appreciated.

  • @tyrannosaurusarexis We're snowmen....we melt. We die. We are impermanent, we are made of stuff that is not lasting and it's sad but beautiful to love someone who will melt. One way or another, all relationships must end in watching each other melt away--either emotionally or more ultimately, due to our failing health. She turns this concept into a sweet and beautiful one--we love each other more for our impermanence.

  • @popeoprah Thank you very much :) I understand now.

  • 80's was the rock phase, 90's were the boy bands, 00's were empty and hollow music... but we won't remember that. We will remember Ingrid.

  • i dont understand why she isnt recognized more..i mean, shes amazing!!!!

  • *Speachless*

  • This is a great song:) Such truth.

  • Sooooooooo beautiful

  • i actually cried at this song its so beautiful never cried at any song before. the lyrics are amazing and ingrid should be a bigger known artist shes really good.

  • She makes me proud to be a Staten Islander. :) Wonderful.

  • She's like the perfect combination of Regina Spektor's bubbliness, and Norah Jones's elegance. :)

  • I think this is a song about life and how everything fades into the end. In the end we realize we are not immortal, we, like the snowman, die. We melt away into history.

  • I think it's about how people leave you.

You put all you feeling, tell them things, love them, and then there gone.

  • she makes it sound so sad. isn't dis song about having ur heart break like a person goes away or breaks up wit u or watever but shes using a snowman....?

  • beautiful.

the way she portrays her feelings..

    its incredible.

  • These lyrics speak the truth atleast as we know it. One day we die and everything we love or suffer dies with us. We're mere phantoms that live and die underneath the sun like all our fathers and mothers before us. Therefore, it is how we live our lives that is important and part of living with greatness is to recognize the effect your era will have the on generations to come...

  • I love how every one of her songs has a message. It contrasts so greatly with the music that is thrust in our face daily by the media and the society we live in today, and she takes alot of effort in it reminds me of lol well lets say a boy i know!!

  • This song does strange things to me. It makes me sad,

but I feel very happy at the same time.

  • Shes saying that boyfriends and girlfriends come and go...

  • @TheBamajellypup that's not all she is saying. she's singing about things ending. mostly life ending. the snowman disappears just like we do when we die. "everything we love & hold so dear won't really matter when we disappear." melting is a metaphor of dying. "we're men of snow. we melt 1 day." aka we're human, we die 1 day.

but yes, it can apply to relationships too bc when someone leaves you, they can disappear from your life & "1 day you will go away from this." one day you will get over it.

  • @sill313 everything YOU love & hold so dear*

  • this is possibly one of the best albums ever. Ingrid is pure inspiration to me.

  • Simply beautiful, that is all.

    Thank you.

  • Facebook has ruined me... i just spent the last five minutes looking for the "like" button hahahah

  • Singer like her is very Special...

There are very few of artists like her.... :D

  • i cant get enough of her voice. Every-time i hear her music i am transported to a coffee shop, and i am reading my favorite book

  • i cant find this on itunes O.O

the world will stop spinning if i cant find it. e_e

  • @becauseihavedance, it really isn't very hard to find. It's under Ingrid Michaelson, in the album Everybody.

  • amazing <3

  • You are my biggest inspiration ingrid!!!! it makes me push my self that some day i will be were you are that is with my music as you are with yours!!!

  • i can't get enough of this song

  • we melt...one day ;)

  • it's more like :(

  • hmmm...i think of it more in terms of a good thing i guess. (going to God)

  • This song always leaves me on the verge of crying... because it reminds me of how alone I am. =/

  • @taneroooo you're never alone silly goose:)

Jesus is always here for you.

  • This is a true description of what happens to us all in this life. Thank God for the hope of resurrection.

  • i can relate to this song too much. but it is amazing. i think i'm going to make a music video for it.

  • winters come. i like the winter.

  • I love how every one of her songs has a message. It contrasts so greatly with the music that is thrust in our face daily by the media and the society we live in today, music that is empty and meaningless. e.g. "Booty, booty, booty, rockin' everywhere". I am so glad that someone out there has taken it upon themselves to send deep and intelligent messages to the world through music. I applaud you, Ingrid, I applaud you.

  • I couldn't agree with you more!

  • i am doing a lyrical solo to this this year im so excited!!! xD

  • That's really cool! I could imagine a really cool dance this! I'm a dancer too....i really wanna see ur solo:)

  • @dancinggirl59323 Okayy cool thanks:)

  • i heard this song a long time ago....finally she put it to song...it was a little different i prefer it the other way

but this song is so beautiful it doesnt bother me all too much

  • this song is really sad

Ingrid's music talent is really amazing

  • so beautiful yet sooo sad

  • she reminds me of alot of classic singers that are really old and when you listen to them you cant help but to respect a true singer..

  • i love ingrid

  • I happened to hear this song while I was browsing at a Hastings store. Felt enough persuasion to seek who the songwriter was and the title of the song. Needless to say, this will be on my Christmas list.

  • so cute♥

  • i LOVE this song

    its just perfect

  • stunning

  • This is the saddest song ever written about a snowman, to be sure.
