How to create ringtone on iTunes 10 (Windows)

I had the same problem, when I went to drag it into iTunes it wouldn't work. After you've changed it to .m4r go into iTunes click file-add file to library-desktop and find the ringtone you just created and click open and it should automatically go into your tones section. At least this worked for me. Hope this helps!

If Ringtones does not show up on your itunes click Edit, then Preferences and check Ringtones...should then show up on Itunes.

@thegamesyoungerbro well, if you open up your documents, and press f10, the toolbar should appear, go to tools > folder options, click the view tab, and then UNCHECK the 'Hide extensions for known file types' this should solve your problem :)
