  • all of Bucketheads guitars look like shit -,-

  • does anybody know which neck pick up he is using?

  • Comment removed

  • @tapPOOH Its either a "Tone Zone S" or a "Air Norton S" (both from DiMarzio), but i think it sounds more like a Tone Zone.

    Hope that helps

  • @thepain0815

well according to dimarzio website the air norton S was introduced it 2007, and the tone zone S in 2003. Must be something else...

  • @tapPOOH Strange, then its either a unknown Custom Pickup or someone which was at least not publically known much. I asked several People and they all responded that it has to be an DiMarzio Pickup.

  • @thepain0815

If you go to 4:05-4:08 you can see it has a single rail... almost like a half X2N if that makes sense. I cant think if any pick up that looks like that, if someone reads this and knows which pick up it is please tell us.

  • @tapPOOH thats exactly what i thought. it looks alot like the x2n but there wasnt any single coil version of it. I also dont know if it could be the Hot Lead Stack one because it doesnt look like there is any space for the "S" one the Pickup if you understand what i mean, but i have given these informations to some other people and we're now doing a more detailed research if you dont mind.

  • @thepain0815

yes i was thinking the same, well lets see if you guys can come up with something interesting.

  • I would like him if he would not look so gay sorry

  • @Hsals96 dont focus on the bucket and mask, just on what comes out of that guitar.

the day will come when he (saddens me) will be gone and will be recognized as the genius that he is.

  • Holy shit he pulled off his bucket...

  • Are we sure that isn't Claudio Sanchez? Haha, jk, but the hair is ridiculously poofy and in the light appears to the blond dyed tips like Claudio. It's kind of weird.

  • Sorry, I've watched this about 50 times... the wanna be rapper record guy needs to go. He totally ruins this song... I had a cat that used to chase the record labels while they turned, he often made a similar noise with a needle and album. Not impressive.. I'd rather hear the real music...

  • @yoni0063 ?¿ what is your point?

  • I can tap like that :)

  • I bet Chuck Norris couldnt do that. :D

  • its great to see buckethead showing that he is enjoying the song

  • shawn lane is better and we all love bh

  • @chan600hugo Yea well that can be argued, check out disembodied part one

  • @AngelOfNight9 what about Shawn lane playing piano?

  • This guy Really scares me

  • spiderleg-fingers

  • AWEEEESOOOMEE!!111

  • buckethead is the best (not to be a queer) but hes awesome

  • Buckethead is the best, this video is very old..

  • Crap hat

  • Hmmm the end guitar/turntable trade-off reminds me of the Shawn Lane guitar/sax solo trade-off the he used to do

  • hooooo shit.... incredible. I love buckethead music!!!

  • 4:13. 'nuff said.

  • what pick up is in the bridge?

  • @tapPOOH Dimarzio X2N.

  • @tapPOOH Dimarzio X2N

  • Definently the best version of this song !!!!!!

Ive love dthis one since my first listen....i was hooked after listening to this show :)

  • 3 people are bitter at the world that made them deaf so they can't appreciate this. :(

  • The solo at about 4:00 is kind of like what he does on his new song Crack the Sky

  • Anyone know what kind of guitar he's got there? Amp settings? Thanks!

  • I like bucket's earlier shredding more than what he's doing now. He's sloppier these days :/. Atleast to me...

  • @LithuanianGuitar yeah cause it seems like now he's doing more of a blend of legatos and alternate picking, but before he was like alternate picking like crazy when shredding.

  • I love young buckethead, so spontaneous. :)

  • PrtScn+PrtScn+PrtScn+PrtScn+PrtScn+PrtScn+PrtScn+PrtScn+PrtScn

    GOD!

  • what kind of guitar is he using?

  • @TheRockingtimeTV

I think its some kind of esp m-11 with a reverse headstock, not sure though

  • @Joe94KR ok thanks

  • I like the buckethead vs dj showdown at the end

  • Hey man, I was at this show Thanks so much for posting this.

Shawn Lane and Jonas Hellborg opened up and Buckethead blew them off the stage.

    Thanks Again!

  • @Joebuddha awesome, is there anything else you can say about the show?

  • @Joebuddha awesome, is there anything else you can say about the show?

  • @Joebuddha yeah man please go on about this show! Are there any other details that are worth hearing?

  • @Joebuddha

Old post but YOU ARE SO LUCKY!!!!!!

  • @Joebuddha bucketheads my favourite guitarist and my biggest inspiration but he would never blow Shawn Lane off the stage. BH even said Shawns the greatest guitarist thats ever lived.

  • @thomasharman14

Dude, I was there along with every other shredder in NY and we all agreed.

Shawn was the man, I was going to GIT when Shawn recorded the live footage for his REH instructional videos and got to sit front row center for the whole show. Afterwards I considered quitting, but that night at the Wetlands was not a great show for him. Buckeheads band was super tight and just put on a way better show.

  • i wish that i was there :(

  • laksjdlaksjdalskdjalksdmasklndalskdkhjadbsaskdaksdbalsdajsdbashdb

sorry just cleaning the cm off my keyboard.

  • buckethead shreds fast! with precision! with a bucket on his head and a mask on his face!

  • awesome guitar riffs from ma nigg

    buckethead shreds fast! with precision!

  • awesome guitar riffs from ma nigg

  • Rythm, drums, guitar goes exactly the same time! Fuckvb.dfsb.df.

  • Holy crap, this is old.

  • buckethead is the most versitile guitar player in the world because he plays like 10 different genres all extremely well and to those people saying that buckethead is better shredder than slash is like saying apples are better than hotdogs two different guitar players who have very famous careers and both should be respected

  • Comment removed

  • ya im pretty sure slash couldnt pull this off...

  • @Savatage420 Slash masturbates to this video regularly.

  • @HolyEggRollys if thiat isnt the most voted comment arround i dont think what else would

  • @HolyEggRollys so do i

  • @HolyEggRollys Slash can't masturbate, because comparated to buckethead he doesn't have finger... (yeah i know, you posted this a year ago but buckethead was and still be better than this fucking overrated slash)

  • I love how he wears perfectly normal clothes with the mask and helmet.

  • Someone is having a humid day... :):):)

  • WTF? this is the best thing i have seen in years! flawless!

  • kfc are hes sponser? :D

bucket head is fucking the best

  • is that his real hair or a wig?

  • @Savatage420 it's his hair

  • is this praxis?

  • @NvdVen nah, this is a band called giant robot tht buckethead played in before he did stuff by himself, alot of buckethead songs were old songs tht he wrote wen he was still in giant robot, bucketheads second album was also called giant robot, so they get like mixed up sometimes

  • Any idea what pedals he is using for the solo or effects? I love that tone!

  • @Drazzirg He's using a BOSS Distordion/Overdrive pedal, my friend. :)

  • How the hell has this only got 37,392 views!! im pretty sure this would be a fan favourite if more ppl knew about it!

  • buckethead's skill is impeccable.

  • @jedisjumphigh2 dude... good improvise in that padmasana thing but u can't compare yourself to buckethead you don't have the speed ,technic or style to play like him... u can't say ur close to him it's IMPOSSIBLE to have he's composing skills i guess in that one you lost...

  • if you have facebook please join

    The Church Of Buckethead

im trying to spread the message of the god that is buckethead

  • check out the cover me and my friend did of this song =) ure gonna love it!

  • me and one of my friends play this song and make a cover of it.. its perfect and very cool I'd love if you checked it out :) just click my name!

  • me and one of my friends play this song and make a cover of it.. its perfect and very cool I'd love if you checked it out :) just click my name!

  • Notice Buckethead's Picking at 2.54 his is tilting the pick backwards like Shawn Lane who played here the same night... Buckethead does not normally pick that way. Loved this performance!!!

  • @TrevorWilsonHimself

are you saying he decided to pick the same as shawn lane because he played there the same night and used to pick that way?

alternate picking is something you need to be very comfortable with (especially at that speed), you cant just change it becase you want to...

  • @tapPOOH I am not saying because Shawn Lane played there the same night Bucket decided to pick the same way, i am just saying it is coincidental... Find me another example other than this show where Bucket picks with the pick tilted backwards.

Bucket's guitar teacher PB taught Bucket sarod picking and Bucket uses this technique 100% of the time, this is the only example where he has changed his technique. backwards tilted pick, locked thumb vs relaxed thumb joint and pick on a slight angle..

  • @TrevorWilsonHimself

nevermind my previous comment... i just checked some recent videos and he still picks the way he does in this video (at least on the lower strings, on the higher strings he holds it similar to paul gilbert) , but his hand isnt "waveing" around as much as in this video.

  • @tapPOOH Bucket Uses the sarod picking technique and never uses the backwards tilting of the pick: Shawn lane used this technique of the backwards titling of the pick with a locked thumb to glide threw the strings and Buckets technique was originated from Pebber Brown's sarod picking technique which he taught Bucket H and continues to teach others to this day. (relaxed thumb joint loose wrist, moving the pick with the thumb and wrist on a slight angle)

  • @TrevorWilsonHimself

    well check this video watch?v=FRie_Y9NrOM

go at 2:58, he plays from the lower to the higher strings and the pick is angled backwards...

then at 3:12 he plays a similar pattern and he hold the pick in a different way, and right after that you can see he changes the pick angle again ,holding it backwards... 3:16-3:21 look pretty much like in this video... then again at 3:40 the pick is backwards again. he probably does that again, but i dont have any more characters left=.=

  • @tapPOOH I hhave watched the video and yes he changes his picking technique a lot... If PB saw this footage he's be on the phone to Bucket... "what the f*ck are you picking like that for? i taught you to sarod pick not to pick like that!!!" *phone slams to the holder* Thanks for your further research, maybe he only picks that way for this particular song... who knows.

  • @TrevorWilsonHimself

haha... whats wrong with picking like that anyways?

as long as it sounds good...

  • @tapPOOH Well i agree if it sounds good anyway of achieving a particular sound shouldn't matter but PB is a very experienced guitar teacher and expects his students to play the way he taught them because in his eyes his techniques and the most economical and are the best way of playing the guitar...

I don't particularly stick to any technique i have an array of techniques at my disposal and i think unlike PB side angle picking is the easiest way of achieving super speed,I don't do it myself haha

  • @TrevorWilsonHimself

I honestly think that bucket might be using a form of sarod picking in this vid, it might just be inverted or something. I mean he is keeping a floating wrist, he is shaking his hand in a very sarod like way, and he certainly is zinging around the guitar with extreme momentum.. Another thing, pebber brown taught buckethead a huge variety of picking techniques, not just sarod, in fact I'm pretty sure that buckethead uses scalpul picking more.

  • BUCKETHEAD ABSOLUTELY RIPS IT HERE 3:47 - 5:07 WOW!

  • What guitar is Bucket playing?

  • 1:02 reminds me of Dimebag :)

  • Shawn Lane played on this night too didnt he? I'd have eaten both my testicles to have been there.

  • that sucked and Buckethead does not play that kind of guitar

  • @c3d342 you aren't too bright

  • @c3d342 HOW CAN YOU SAY THAT BUCKET SUCKED ? BTW this is from 1997...

  • i think Buckethead was faster in those days then now, but he ain't slow now too :)

  • just cause you can play his songs it doesn`t mean your as good as him lol you see he wrote the somgs you struggle to play. Hes a Guitar God and your not.

  • I dont fucking care who you are...this is impressive

  • omg im playing this song tommorow for my talent show and its the same date 13 years later and im 13 :D

  • insane...

looks like he is holding the pick with the thumb and middle finger in the fast picking runs...

  • the best "Welcome to BHLand" version on YouTube!

  • cool robot dance :D

  • if you go by rolling stones magazine to determine whose the best... well then your fuckin dumb

  • God, this guitar and that white flying with KFC stripes are way better than all the Gibson rubbish he uses these days.

  • @Kradoz They may look better and they do but the Gibson rubbish he uses may FEEL better in his hands. I bet he'll change it in next 10 years to something even more orgasmic than ever.

  • big azz titayz

  • nobody can beat that......ever

  • "this buckethead" seems to be havin' fun.......lol.....1:04 (05)

  • This is the the best shred performance ive ever seen.

I won't ever understand people who say that he is not the best guitarist in the world!

    Seriously, who can beat him???

  • @juda67000 he is the number eight in the fastest shredders in the world it means

MICHAEL ANGELO BATIO beats him :)

i like buckethead but MAB is faster :B

  • @francoelgorila24 yea but theres one difference, buckethead sounds awesome and Batio sounds shit.

  • 1:05 Buckethead RULEZZZZZZZZ

  • Fuck buckethead, i wish i were him, such a godly guitar player! HE FUCKING ROCKS!!!!! ER FUCKING DAY!

  • @GhostriderDuck what is boring... this is amazing

  • Oh man the DJ adds a really nice touch holy shit this is awesome!!!

  • Can I download this show somewhere?? Is there a DVD from this gig??

  • is he playing an ESP?

  • i finally found GOD

  • Kinda funny to read this stuff sometimes. I happen to like guitar players - all sorts of styles, personas, and genres. To presume their is any sort of "best" one is to deny the musical brilliance that is all around. You like a particular guy? Thats great. You dont like em? That's cool too. Music is a very primal instinct that exists across all living creatures. Energy wasted worrying about whay some puzto behind a screen thinks is energy wasted my friends. Just listen, enjoy, or change channel.

  • great comment.

  • OK

  • Why this only has 27k views. Its pure epicness.

  • how many key changes did they go through at the end!?!??!?!?!?!!

  • This playing is from the nineties when shred was as dead as anything. Buckethead is a for real monster, don't let the insipid change you're mind.

Buckethead has a unique approach and sound. If you don't like it, don't try to invalidate him because of it.

  • nice

  • 4:13 is fucking insane

  • 0:22 FUCK YEAH ONE HAND!!

    1:03 haha i Never

    Seen Him Remove The Bucket

    Pretty Sweet Drum Solo

    and Guitar Solo

    Whats with The Dj??

  • 4:13 is so fucking epic.

  • This sounds alot like chicken sodomy

  • Sounds alot like Welcome to Bucketheadland to me.

  • I just sharted.

  • That shredding is fucking rediculous man. Can anyone tell me if he is SAROD picking in this video? I know now he usually lightly rests his wrist on the bridge and kinda sarod picks without the floating wrist.

  • @REPTARisGNARLY

    a bit late...

not sure why you got 3 thumbs down, but to me it seems to be sarod picking... he swings his wrist really fast, so i think he has it floating in this video... no idea how he keeps it so clean though...

  • I think he doesn't have much distortion on his sound. And I think he palm mutes little... Not quite sure but I would be really pleased to learn his style...

  • It Looks Like He Is. His Shredding Is Flawless Here. But, He Is Also Picking With His Middle Finger And Thumb Instead Of His Index And Thumb. If He Isn't Sarod Picking He Is Using Scalpel.

  • correct me if im wrong but i think this is the last concert before the funeral sticker

  • Hahaha not even close : ) he took it off on like '06 this is filmed on '97

  • no i said before, like he put the sticker on the bucket after this concert and im aware he switched from his 30 someodd kfc buckets to the white ones

  • bucket and his drummer are pure famous xD love em !!

  • this is so trippy :3 i love it!

  • KFC should sponser Buckethead.

  • /sign ;D

  • 2:20 someone said "carlito" ?

  • @Death2RockwayMiddle lo escuche

  • He said I got meatloaf
