Injuries have hurt him too. But also Landon Donovan has moved into his wide left role, and he's not supplanting him. Also U.S. tactics don't help. Maybe if we played 4-3-3 he could be a right sided winger like at psv. But u.s. coaches can't coach a 4-3-3. and u.s. lacks the central midfielders to do it.

Three, the U.S. doesn't have a youth system of the quality of PSV training the youth and feeding the senior team with quality around DMB. Four, the U.S. doesn't play a 4-3-3 so damarcus plays left midfield where at psv he often played wide right as a forward, where messi plays for Barca. Last, The U.S. doesn't play attacking, possession, dutch mentality football.

But i think the big thing is the physicality. He's gotten some horror tackles recently too. Plus, I like beasley but he's there are limitations to his game that I think were exposed at city and are exposed at rangers. but hey i haven't seen a rangers game in months so i'm not exactly up to date on his form.
