There is a dowry that came into affect in india and basically money is given so that the Daughter does not face hard times, abuse from the family, etc. Sometimes dowry is ongoing, and they keep asking or threaten to kill. Sulyaman, I so agree with what you said. In addition, during war times it creates a condition of absolute hell for females when the gender dynamic goes the other way. I live in the U.S. and I've seen a startling change in women and the attitudes toward women in the guys over the past few years. I can't even imagine how it must be for women in Iraq.

In canada its illegal to say the gender of the baby. I am against sex selection abortions. But I feel because im indian im not told what I am having. lol. I didnt find out until I was like 32 weeks pregnant and that too through a gynecologist. Because alot of indians reside in canada, particularly BC. Clinics dont say anything.
