I can't say I see the point of this or any other pre-tied necktie. It's much more individual, grown up, and dare I say MANLY to tie your own, in the knot of your choice, with all the "imperfections" associated with it.

But yes, for security, military, and police I understand why the clip-on is in service even if it doesn't look quite as professional.

I think tying a tie could someday become as useless as knowing how to write in cursive. It just isn't a worthwhile skill anymore. A zipper tie and regular tie look the same.

@MrGordonification actually not ALL ties are machine washable. I made that mistake and ruined a couple of my ties I put in the washing machine. :-(

@ZigzagHag I prefer ‘real’ ties with all the associated hassle of tying the knots. However, I appreciate clip–ons for things like security forces (guards, etc.) so that you don’t get strangled.
