U should also change ur name 2 times so it won't show ur first name. So it will be much harder for people that ask for details and u give them. So they will try ur name now, but it wont work because they need ur first name
I have AVG and I've been running scheduled scans and such for about a month or two. Today I signed on to see my acc swiped clean. The hacker even dropped all my charms... I believe I have a keylogger but I don't know how to get rid of it. I can always get stuff on a game back, but it still worries me that there is a possible keylogger on my laptop. Help?

The dungeoneering glitch has been fixed and there is no more ways to do anything like that anymore.

@Bonbloc those sites are mostly java driveby's (which you forgot to mention) they look like they are loading java just like runescape the first time, when you click run the java operates and puts any virus behind it straigth on your computer

@Bonbloc lucky, i used swiftkit and after the first week i logged on to see my bank cleaned. that was awhile back but i learned not to trust anything when it comes to that.
you should mention about r.a.t programs.. they are tricky and can sometimes get people... rats give the person full control over your computer and its really hard to get rid of them sometimes.. you should unplug your computer from the internet go to cmd and do a dns clear followed by a system restore. then go to your msconfig and go to startup tab and make sure nothing is running on start up that you don't know.
Some genius hacker shut down my computer from a distance with a virus. And that same virus constantly overloaded my cpu so starting my computer back up and logging into rs was near impossible. BUT, I ingeniously changed my password WHILE he was still on my account and saved bunches of mils!
Bonbloc, is it also safe to say that those who do not need an email to log in but only their username, that if they've changed their username it can also be a type of security because they still need their original RS name to log in despite the name change.
If no-one knows your original RS name and the "last known as" feature disappears, you can also be a bit more safer.
I've been hacked something along the lines of 7-12 times for about 150m over my rs playing experience the biggest thing that helped me was the delete rs related programs once you've been hacked and staying up to date with how people are hacking. (Recently people are using skype to get your ip adress it doesn't matter if you have like no friends they can still send u bugs and keylog you). Idk if its any help but perhaps adding that may help somebody?

If you don't feel safe even then, just buy Norton. It has an antiphish and can block third party intruders. But to be honest, you don't need it if you don't have some sort of severe mental handicap that disorients your thinking process.
Even though I'm not worried about my runescape account getting hacked. (I only have a 6m bank anyways) I still downloaded the anti-spyware you suggested because all the ones I previously bought lead to viruses. -_- Thanks Bonbloc.

The first thing I did once I saw the rules of not getting hacked;
1. I got the "Snipping Tool"
2.Cropped the text out (the rules)
3. I used a pin thing and I slashed out the numbers that I do/never do.
4. After all that took a long thought about the ones next

i got hacked last week too, lost 100m, i had avira anti virus and firewall on, i misscklicked on a adversite. after 10min i got ddosed, then my account was already loggin, i made adversite for a pserver and as was were able to login again my bank was cleaned, the virus pulled off my firewall and walked around avira, so anti virus programms cant safe you from all virus'es.

- remove all virus scanners and get malwarebytes and combofix
- check the microsoft site and get neccessary KB updates that prevent java exploits
- never type in ur paswd using ur keyboard use the onscreen keyboard program built into microsoft windows
- dont use rstoolkit, and dont go to the IRC channel unless u on a proxy of some sort
- dont make videos on youtube showing off your bank
- dont play at a internet cafe or library

@Bonbloc hey i was watching some rs pk vids. and i accedently clicked a link in the bottom with a live stream and i tried to back out and it got pretty laggy so i reset my pc and was like ok thats over with got on rs put my expensive gear on and the rs black screened and closed on me... and i lost about 230m... i can still log in and stuff but i do it on a acc i made to mess around with and my mouse is super slow n lags on the rs page nothing else. please help i really need some advice.

2:50 happend to me, my idiot brother downloaded something and the virus or dude controlled my pc, and droped all my shit in rs GF 470m, that was in december 2011, i managed to make back 78m tho.

The first thing I did once I saw the rules of not getting hacked;
1. I got the "Snipping Tool"
2.Cropped the text out (the rules)
3. I used a pin thing and I slashed out the numbers that I do/never do.
4. After all that took a long thought about the ones next
5. Once I slashed the ones ill never/do. I got zero out of 10 so THANK YOU Bonbloc, I've been hacked before not anymore because of this video thank you. Merry Christmas!

hey bonbloc,
i got hacked last week too, lost 100m, i had avira anti virus and firewall on, i misscklicked on a adversite. after 10min i got ddosed, then my account was already loggin, i made adversite for a pserver and as was were able to login again my bank was cleaned, the virus pulled off my firewall and walked around avira, so anti virus programms cant safe you from all virus'es.

duplicating itself. I managed to enter and delete multiple time so it didn't have time to duplicate itself. I thought it was gone but the next day i tried to go on my pc and i got a black screen everytime i tried. I then done a system restore and managed to get rid of it and the moral of this story kids is NEVER download a .exe file!!!
