I liked the Unleashed game and all. But really, how is Star Wars still popular??

Star Trek was almost nonexistent until the new movie came out and geeks started bitching about the 'problems', yet it was still a good movie.

Lucas hasn't made a good movie since the the 80's! Yet people are still going crazy over Star Wars shit WITH an ever-growing fan-base. I don't get it!

Ehh, it was mediocre at best in my opinion; that's only because of the creation of Darth Vader. The novels were in the 90's, comics in the 80's and many crappy cartoon spin-off in between, none of them really explain Star Wars' never ending, always growing fan-base... Now all of the movies are going to be re-released in 3D, I really can't comprehend the popularity behind Star Wars. It's much like the Halo series; good at first then progressively got worse, yet people still love it.

Do you really think the novels or comics keep the fan-base alive? Maybe the cartoon, but I remember watching the one you mentioned and I personally couldn't stand it. It was just a kids show. Critics are pointless, there's really no need to bring them up.

Anyway, this still doesn't really explain why Star Wars is still popular. Pretty much every movie has had cartoon spin-offs (Ace Ventura even).

I suppose it's unexplainable.
