This is like a joke but its true i cant even touch my toes with my hands yes i can but force fully and painfully in my leg muscle plz anyone help me:(
This girls "stretch" is not a true stretch at all & is dangerous & can cause damage to the muscles by tearing the hams not to mention other damages & actually NOT even getting a stretch. You cannot stretch the hamstrings AT ALL in any standing position as they're already flexed to keep the pelvis from rotating forward. As a result they're expending energy & therefore the sarcomeres of the muscle cannot relax into stretch giving a new current resting length to hams. Foot lifted> also damaging.
Yes 'truegamer' this so called 'stretch" which gives you NO stretch in the hamstrings whatsoever is merely an eccentric contraction of the hamstrings and when you stand back up your hamstrings go right back to where they were. Doing this as shown in this video can also cause damage to different areas of the muscles and tendons causing thousands of microtears which are permanent. This is outdated training misinformation. Sit on the floor with hands behind you supporting you and go easily into it.
Dang, thanks man, sounds like you know what your talking about. So like your a major in sports science or something? Can you tell me some good excerises? I need it for my martial arts..
Uh...so, "like"(?) yeah I'm in the health fitness field.
Anyhow, going into detail about proper stretches for your legs would take up too much space to fit here. Do yourself a favor and get a good stretching book with sound, researched, biomechanically correct stretching techniques in it. I recommend podiatric surgeon Dr. Steven D. Starks book, "The
Stark Reality of Stretching". You can get it at a good bookstore such as Barnes & Noble. Further, realise that stretches are NOT "exercises".
@emocional90 , Actually is doesn't work for her, nor anyone else. It can't. By doing the "stretches?" I mentioned (which she is performing, no one can lengthen their muscles. Especially the standing and bending forward. Most likely she has very long tendons and muscles and so when going into the positions she does not even get any strain on her muscles...which means she is spinning her wheels and basically not lengthening her muscles at all. If not she's slowly damaging muscles with microtrauma.
