  • what a fun cave to explore!

  • I met "Little John" at the 2003 NSS Convention during the vertical class. While I don't know how he earned that nickname, he is huge on knowledge and experience. His attention to detail and compassion to new cavers will not be matched very soon. Of course, all the instructors at that vertical class that day were excellent.

For everyone who views this video, and who are interested in science and caving, please join the NSS.

  • Great video Myke!

  • I appreciate that. I came across the 16mm footage as an employee at Mitchell Caverns and thought it very worthwhile to view. It took quite a while to find out who made it and to get permission to release it on DVD."Little John" Woods, at the time, pretty much a kid, helped produce Stan Ulfeldts movie and has helped greatly in passing out the word that the video was available. As far as I'm concerned, John Woods is the ultimate expert on Cave of the Winding Stair. Thanks. Myke C. Ray
