  • This is so hard to watch as he is soooo messed up! Look at an old or new interview with Trey and then watch and listen to this. We almost lost a GREAT one! He is a very lucky man, and of course so are we all for still having him. peace..

  • Junmy junmy junky. go scratch your face and your balls and shut the f up my uncle died on h too so you are better. I know what H does and unles you did a 1.4 of a bag EVERYONE KNEW

  • @kyediggity79 I never even did a full bag. Once again, you do not know me, guy. A single bag would last me a couple days, and I didn't even do it every day. The bundle lasted me the better part of a month. I don't even like opiates that much, but I found a bundle of H on the ground and I'll be damned if I was about to try to buy any. Curiosity got the best of me. I haven't taken any H since then. You know what H does? It does the same thing to everybody? Then, why am I still alive and drug free?

  • @kyediggity79 Shut the fuck up you judgmental fucking twat. Seriously, if you drink or smoke weed or ANYTHING, you aint got ANY room to talk. So go fuck yourself, probably the only sex you get. Clown.

  • @blastingcaps go fuck yourself you drug riddled crack whore. True fans go for the music not the junk so stay home so I and all the real heads can have your tix you junk fuck

  • I have been to Bonnaroo every year since 2002 and remember vividly this speech from Trey. That was definitely, without a doubt, the best year Broo ever saw. No other year could reach that level. 2006 and 2009 were highlight years, and every year has been good, though slowly taking pieces away from the original vibe. I am somewhat disgusted with what it has become, but even with all the commercialism and tightened security, it is still an awesome time, and I guess I will go for my 10th

  • @SomethingAboutZombie I work with the Chamber of Commerce during Bonnaroo and I agree 100%. As most know, Bonnaroo has commercialized the festival scene by slowly moving from the Jam bands to mainstream in an attempt to "diversify" the music, using the "hippie" bunch as a teacher for the new-commers to an experience like bonnaroo, and it has been pretty successful in their eyes...but the vibe that was there in the past has just about vanished.

  • Trey at the"E Center" again....

  • I dont get it , how can u tell EXACTLY what drugs a person is on from watching a 3-min clip? It bugs me that everyone here is SO sure its heroin. People on heroin can barely move or talk, nontheless play guitar.

  • @rawkus1167 when you smoke it instead of shooting it (like Jerry, who NEVER shot up), you can still be completely functional and perform in front of people... it takes the anxiety off too... just sayin!

  • @squirmdogg Good point. I know Jerry's favorite way of ingestion was smoking. Of course this is just guessing cause I don't know for sure but I bet Trey was probably just snorting it. I have snorted heroin before just to try it and you do feel very euphoric for a while. Of course Im happy Trey got his life together but damn did he make some incredible music when he was on drugs. Same with Jerry. If Trey hadn't broke up the band when he did though he may not be around today, Thank God for that

  • @squirmdogg Just sayin??...yeah??

  • @squirmdogg yeah dude, Jerry was definitely "COMPLETELY FUNCTIONAL" when he was smoking heroin! are you fucking serious bro? have you ever seen what a Grateful Dead show from '85 onward looked like? you are a foolish person.

  • @rawkus1167 You've clearly never done heroin, or you've only gotten extremely incredibly fucked up on it. I've exhibited self-control with it to the point that nobody knew I was on it unless I mentioned doing it, which I never did.

  • @migbee you are so full of shit. keep tellin your self that. I guarentee everyone knew how faded you were. my best friend would say how no one could tell. He is dead now. There is no hiding it when you are a junky everyone knows.

  • @kyediggity79 I only did heroin maybe 12 times. I never shot it, sniffed it once, but mostly smoked it as I felt that was the easiest way to measure my dose. I had no more trouble functioning on that than I might have with a couple Vicodin or something. I never liked dosing to the point of the nod due to the intense nausea that usually accompanies that feeling for me. You don't know me, buddy :)

  • @migbee You are sad everyone knows. you smoked it so you are better?? I dont need to know you I know what H does and your parents or whoever you were around knew without a doubt stop kidding yourself

  • @kyediggity79 When did I say I was better than anybody? Injecting is definitely the most dangerous route of ingestion, as all the impurities in your product are going straight into your bloodstream. Doing heroin a couple times does not make you a junkie. I know junkies. My cousin died from a heroin OD. Lay off the propaganda machine.

  • @rawkus1167 exactly

  • he DOES NOT mean this..trey is a dousch..love his music..but as a man..his ego is as far and wide as the sky

  • sad. the guy is o junk. this isnt the real trey. his playing is choppy as shit during this time. demons

  • Not denying Treys honesty here. But! Opiates tend to make everything beautiful. Being popped up on a little H or a few pills really makes the love come out. Believe me. I've been there.

  • "i really COULD go on for a long time..."

no shit trey. glad he's off the drugs.

  • @dome215 i remember watching this with all my kids that i did phish tour with for years. he had a good point but he lost it in his drug haze and way to fucked up to be saying a speech. i used to have an opiate problem and i am glad to say that it is no longer a part of my life. i still party...love my L and what not but we can all agree (espescally getting off this past fall tour) that we are stoked to have trey back and better than ever. i have been having the time of my life

  • Trey was probably rolling during this speech, he's just so happy and overwhelmed

  • alittle dragged out, sure. he might have been on some molly or like oxy or something, but he meant that shit, i feel what he meant too just think, we feel the vibes? shit he has alot of vibes comin right back at him that just blow away any drug....glad hes better.

  • Smack'd

  • I don't know why everyone thinks this is so brutal to watch, its Trey doing what almost nobody else does.. being himself completely honest and trying to explain his emotions and how important live music is to 70,000 people..

  • @bluesguitarguy with the truly moving sincerity of someone on a load of H.

  • @bluesguitarguy

cuz trey is a big dousche;-p..love the mans music dont get me wrong...but as a man, his ego is as far and wide as the sky

  • @falafelnapicklebaby I def gotta agree with you but wouldnt you say thats really true of alota very successful rock&rollers...? I mean if Trey's ego is as wide as the sky Roger Waters's has gotta span the freakin galaxy, I know alota u wont put Trey on Roger's level but Trey's fans certainly do, the guy has got mad props from pretty much all his major living guitar influences (except I don't think Jerry liked Phish.. ;) ) Just sayin it deffinetly comes with the territory...

  • @bluesguitarguy Actually, I agree. And I'll tell you why. H or no H, this is neither the first nor the last time Trey has taken pride in being part of a musical counterculture. And why not? He and Phish "thrive when the media isn't paying attention." Also music is a huge part of him. Why shouldn't he be grateful and happy that others enjoy what he has put so much effort into for so many years?

So yeah long way of saying that drugs or no, I think he meant every word.

  • @bluesguitarguy - yeah...on a half pound of ecstasy.

  • Yikes Trey

  • I feel you Trey!! When you are shredding my soul with your guitar, sometimes I get so filled with joy it is overwhelming!! I can't even imagine what it is like to feel my emotion coming at you, multiplied 20,000 times by everyone else in the place!! You make my world a happier place! Love you!!

  • Trey is a brilliant artist. He is a musical genius and a beloved person and inspiration to thousands of people. I am so grateful to him and to all of PHiSH for doing their thing. The music and the shows and the scene and everything about PHiSH is the best of whats around. So what if he had his "I love you, man!" moment here to talk about the great festival vibe. As a fan of music, he can do no wrong. I trust his musical sensibilities. Trey is not here to be understood. He is just great!

  • Wow.

  • love u trey

  • i guess he did mean it tdunski

  • aww trey... no more opiates

  • wow. . .. depressing to see

  • It's obviously a speedball. I've never seen anyone stutter so much from just opi's

poly-drug addiction is hardcore, amazing he got clean

  • i love trey

i hope he gets off the H for good and stays with weed and beer

  • jesus man

this might be the best example of his use ive seen

even more so than his arrest in 08

but granted, how would you ever stop drugs

when you can be that visibly fucked up in front of 70,000 people

and they just cheer you on

try telling someone theyre wrong when you have a crowd like that hanging on your every move

at least hes changed, he seems to be clean

  • Very true. Brutal to watch.

  • dave matthews band is for losers. phish is for phans of real music. good to see trey not like this anymore. he looked pretty sober at hampton

  • yea opinions are opinions.. I love phish, and Dave.. but it IS a fact that a majority of dave matthews band's fans are a bunch of stupid preppy college kids who are there for the party and not the music.

  • @thajimi i cant agree more!! the fucking dave fans are always the douchebag preppy popular "wanna be" show goer, even stoner. dave concerts suck balls to, "yo man you touched my girl" umm..no i didnt, she hit me with her arm that she was fist pumping with".. true story, preppy wanna be stoners, or popular douchebags in highschool, PHISHPHOREVR

  • @DopeCoozie2 fuck yeah those people ruined dave. phish is the fucking best

  • @thajimi im a huge phishead. i love phish and i love music. ive been on phish tour all this year and a little bit of last year i try to go to as many shows as possible and i listen to them constantly. having said that..."dave matthews band is for losers" is quite possibly the dumbest comment ive ever heard. If you wanna talk abotu real music that guy pours his soul into his music and is one of the most emotional performers i have ever come across. listen to dave and tim reynolds. MUSIC.

  • @thajimi ok i dont like DMB either but don't say its for losers... be accepting of everyone's taste in music and everything will be ALL GOOOD!

  • @thajimi DMB is for losers as Phish is for stank ass hippies.

  • Dave Matthews Band new album June 2nd

  • its not coke its herion, or oxy, listen to his voice

  • "if only you had meant it"???

WTF are you talking about? This is the stuff I love about trey, and Phish....

open, honest, real communication....the man (and the rest of Phish) love playing for us, and feel very lucky to be able to do so, as they rightfully should. It comes off as humble, and real, and it is one of the things that I love most about Phish, and Trey.

  • My reaction exactly.. that is Trey being true and honest, even if he was on whatever he was..

  • cocaine is a hell of a drug...

  • Comment removed

  • That has to be one of the most incoherent coked out things I have ever heard cobbled together.

Didn't Trey say at the following year's Jammies that he was doing a shit load of coke with Phil Lesh back stage?

What a role model for dirtball hippies everywhere.

  • highly doubt phil was still doign coke in 03...

  • SOOO PHARMY! Trey is out of his head here. though heart felt, it reminds me of a cliche chrismas dinner, drunken/high monologue by that uncle that just makes everyone feel uncomfortable. glad he's sober for now...

  • Bonnaroo 02... greatest festy I've ever attended. Almost exclusively heady kids. I have never met so good kynd people anywhere else. What an experience for me... as it was my first festy and to put it lightly... it had a profound effect on my life and I couldnt be more thankful for how the scene has made me a better person for having experience it. Bonnaroo now is fully of people that are there for the drugs instead of the must. Bonnaroo 02 was for the real kynd phamily.

  • @KyndestKid this was my first fest ever. what a way to start it off. i was HOOOOOOOKED. cried most of the way home i didnt want it to end. life should be one big festival...

  • @KyndestKid I've always found it funny how the people who use words like 'kynd' and 'family' always end up screaming horrible things at each other at 3am when the drug money goes missing.

  • @mutoneon you don't know me so please don't judge me!

  • @KyndestKid You're right. I should have said 'tend to' instead of 'always'.

  • @KyndestKid I could not agree more in its early stages it was cool. It was a place that i thought could never exsist but did. Too bad everyone involved ruined something i once looked forward too.

  • @KyndestKid well said

  • @KyndestKid what's the last time you went?

  • @migbee - last time for me was 04

  • @KyndestKid my first fest ever was bonnaroo 07, fresh outta high school.. enjoyed the fuck outta myself, tool was SICKnasty.. definitely a custival, but it was the custival that introduced me to phish, and I honestly love the custies because I make ill money off them haha

def raging bisco this year tho, wish i could make it to bonnaroo again but that shit is mad far

  • "I really could go on for a long time if i had more uh......" pharms

  • that was a good show the glow sticks flying him playing the crowd they ruined a really good thing

  • I haven't been back to Bonnaroo since then because they sold out. Fag bands now, you know what I mean. Wakarusa baby!! No coldplay type bands there.

  • i love "wakarusa type bands" my band played at wakarusa last year and i think coldplay is one of the best bands out there right now!

  • Yea that was a good time. Trey's band stole the entire festival when they closed the festival out Sunday night.

Remember the band/audience thing, now only a guy like this could pull that off. Anyone have video of that?

  • I don't know what you guys are talking about. All that made sense to me.

  • without just blurting something out. hell think clearly about it

  • hopefully he'll stay sober enough now to say what he really means

  • he always speaks from the bottom of his heart....

  • Dude, Trey is the best. I don't think I can say enough about the guy from here alone. Those had to have been good times he is speaking from. There are still good times to come!

  • just get phish back together already!

  • he always seems so nervious when ever he is talking.
