I saw a couple pics that were of an actor in a military uniform. Me, being an Army brat, Air Force wife and granddaughter of a retired seamen thinks thats completely wrong. An actor should not have the honor of being in a military tribute video, because they have no clue what they go through, nor will they ever experience it being rich. I've met many a soldier in my life. Many are lifelong friends. It's my duty as a civilian to inform soldiers of the entire truth. Before you go sign on the dotted line and commit to a life in the service. Know with absolute certainty that unless a foreign army is invading our country, you're not really "fighting for my freedom." This term is simply a marketing ploy to boost morale and public support. It's very effective. Think about it. Even my marine friends have come to this understanding.
I think soldiers are intelligent enough that they don't need any education from you. They already know the "entire truth", much more clearly than you, after all they live that truth every day. Accept it and move on.

The suicide rate of the troops is at an epidemic level, unfortunately the government is trying to keep that information silent. George Bush cut funding for veterans. Too bad returning soldiers who are ill and who have mental issues won't get the support they need when they apply at VA hospitals. I saw a couple pics that were of an actor in a military uniform. Me, being an Army brat, Air Force wife and granddaughter of a retired seamen thinks thats completely wrong. An actor should not have the honor of being in a military tribute video, because they have no clue what they go through, nor will they ever experience it being rich. Other than that it was a good video. :)

I've met many a soldier in my life. Many are lifelong friends. It's my duty as a civilian to inform soldiers of the entire truth. Before you go sign on the dotted line and commit to a life in the service. Know with absolute certainty that unless a foreign army is invading our country, you're not really "fighting for my freedom." This term is simply a marketing ploy to boost morale and public support. It's very effective. Think about it. Even my marine friends have come to this understanding.

The suicide rate of the troops is at an epidemic level, unfortunately the government is trying to keep that information silent. George Bush cut funding for veterans. Too bad returning soldiers who are ill and who have mental issues won't get the support they need when they apply at VA hospitals. I don't support the war or the soldiers being there, but when they return they deserve to get proper medical attention. I think this administration is the worst in history.

For all the people bitching about why we are there. WE ARE THERE get over it and support the troops regardless if you think its wrong.
Our grandparents and great grand parents ought to tell us all the stories about ww2 when everything seemed to be going wrong they kept their head up, and ALWAYS ALWAYS had the support of the folks back home. Now half the country hates them when it wasnt their choice to go to war. so support the troops at least

I understand that point of view. But at the same time, it is their job. They are signed up and end up being a "puppet" for the gov't. Jump when I tell you to jump right? I support them for doing their job. Whether dying for oil or for our freedoms they are doing what they job entitles when called. I could argue w/anyone all day about different points, like yours, which I can completely understand why you ask. But, bottom line is, I support our troops,and don't agree with the war.

Rather than being pawns, honorable humans have a responsibility to DO WHAT IS RIGHT. If fighting in an illegal war for OIL is wrong, then as Americans they have a responsibility to refuse, even if it means going to jail. It's called conscientious objector. Muhammed Ali refused and went to jail. I respect him for that. I support him! I don't support the assholes who went when it was wrong.

No one is proposing a "blind pullout", but the RIGHTIES like to characterize various democrat & independent plans that way. Eventually we'll have to pull out unless we were planning to be occupiers. When that happens there will be a push for power.
Most "pull-out" plans involve filling the void we create with other powers.
