A true rider lives their life for their horse. A true rider suffers through the pain that the horse inflicts during a fall. A true rider gets back up and thanks the horse for the lesson they have taught them. A true rider tries again and again until they are a perfect team working in unison.
@NikkiScarletzLott It is all a part of the learning experience. Our horses are our teachers, and when we fall off, it is them testing us. I think our horses are proud of us when we get back on and keep going :)
I have been riding alot in the past year and recently fell of and got a massive bruise just below my eye! I am still not afraid of falling and I lease a horse that does push me and try and get me off sometimes but I love her <3
i have been riding for 5 years, i have four horses a 14.2hh county standerd welsh section d that can jump 1m20, a 15hh dutchwarm blood international sports pony, a 17.1hh tb hunter/ eventer and a dutchwarm blood colt foal, i have fallen off 83 times and some of them have been serious, im not scared of falling or not being strong enough to get back on, im not even scared of death. nothing scares me anymore my horses have made me strong enough to do anything and if i fail, better look next time <3
please no one take this the wrong way but to a real horse person and rider (again not meaning anything bad) its not really a question of getting back on. Its just something that you do. I've ridden my entire life and had some nasty falls ... most over jumps ... but I still ride. There's nothing that compares to the feeling. When you're lined up on a jump 3 strides out and you know you've got this one .... the euphoria that comes with it is indescribable unless you've been there. Great Video!!!!
@msshortyfred I understand what you mean, I have been riding since I was five. But what I meant to say in this video is that we are not afraid of falling off and getting hurt, we get hurt every day. What I meant to say in the video is that I think some equestrians are afraid of getting their confidence so shot down after a fall that we won't get back on, we doubt our strength, that's why we are afraid of falling. Because to us not getting back on is the scariest thought in the world.
I belive this is one of the best videos i have ever seen . . . . . May I use this peom in Guidence class at school? we are suppose to find sumthin that we are dedicated to. THIS IS PERFECT! i wil give you ALL the credit! :D May I use it?
This just describes the feeling after a fall...had one of the worst in my life this saturday, but at the end, you just stand up, pull together and saddle up ... =)
Wow, this is beautiful! Thank you for making this. I think it very well sums up the emotions and fears that every equestrian experiences at one time or another. Back in 2008 I had a very serious fall and broke my arm, resulting in me having to have three surgeries to fix it. I can honestly say that the first thing I thought of after I realized I was not dead was "Will I ever get back on a horse again?" It's been tough, but I did get back on and now I'm a better horseman because of my fall.
I shared it on my Facebook because I have a lot of equestrian friends that I know will appreciate it. It honestly did bring tears to my eyes. Have you had a serious fall before too? I don't think it's even possible for someone to fully understand the emotions involved in a horse related accident until they've had one themselves. Thanks again for making it. And sorry that I accidentally double posted. Computer is on the fritz.
For me it's the fear that my horse won't get back up! :'( xx
