  • Classic NYC House Muzik! Does anybody have " This Magic Feeling" done by the Peech Boys? Its a slow jam that they did, I believe it was the 12"B side of " Dont make me wait. I have it but it is scratched real bad. If someone has it, please post it. Thanks - DJ Eddie Love

  • Thanks for all the positive comments, I'm working on some new tracks that I hope will renew the vibes from the past!

  • Now I know where De La Soul pulled that sample from, "Biooofeeeedbaaaack". (I could never understand what it was saying). Nice upload druckman. Right on point!

  • man j dilla had one hell of a ear.

  • Garage vs House - NYC Garage came first 81-86 soulful and down tempo

Chicago House was more influenced by euro/ italo beats (like Alexander Robotnik)

2 distinct styles; Garage and House

  • @alanbeatboy Garage isn't the right term, that's a UK revisionist label. NYC underground club didn't just happen to come first, it was the template for what Chi came up with, after playin these types of NY jammies night and day. NYC also mixed it with euro joints of the same type Chi copied, but the original and better mixes were in NY.

  • loved when larry would play this in the garage!

  • Paradise Garage!

  • I remember seeing them do this live! what memories....

  • "Its only a dance - don't let it get ya down" Yeah buddy! "The amplified energy" More! More! More! This record could raise me from my grave. Love the lyrics too. I miss all you Peech Boys and getting down to your stuff on that amazing dance floor you had at the PG.

  • ***This is what Underground HOUSE was all about...Madd respect for Larry Levan and Paradise Garage.84 King street.. and Bruce Forest-Better Days..49th street YOU are missed Tremendously..there will never be any thing that beats the scene in the NYC back in the day*** Mad love to all my peeps for being the sh** and putting it down..the horns, sirens and smoke..had ya jumping all night long to the break of dawn. You were DONE when you left the club.**

  • @princeUMAR100 Agree all the way, but it wasn't underground house, it was underground NYC club music. This house thing is the Chicago version of what came before it in NYC.

  • @hardcorehouse my bad... Marshall Jefferson HOUSE Anthem came fist with others to follow..I have 15 crates of vynle HOuse.. reagga..hip hop.. still tearing da scene UP..

  • @princeUMAR100 Thanks. B)

  • @HowSilly1 NO DOUBT..

  • Its weird how music from this period had a mystique that you just don't get today. I guess you never knew much about the group behind it and there was a lot of experimentation with remixes, limited editions and the technology behind it all was exciting. These drum machines (Linn?) and synths (Moog?) should sound primitive by today's standards but to my ears they sound expensive, classy and sonically rich.

  • takes me back in the day,,, that logo on the label brings back the crazy memories...of feeling music for hours

  • That logo's world famous, now. Who would have thought, now we're basically the world's club aristocracy. When I tell younger heads that I was a Garage member, their eyes get as wide as saucers.
