  • Was for a television show. I think the song works better as an end piece for the album "Easy Tiger." In that album Ryan wrestles with the dark side of his soul - "Pumpkinhead," "Two," "Everybody Knows." A significant work of art, but harrowing. This is his response - his return to home.

  • anyone have insights on this song? i don't really know the underlying message

  • october road

  • The man is outstanding. So few to please so many.

  • donna from that 70's show!!!!!

  • I LOVE DRA but this video is lame.

  • @rosswsp its a video for a t.v show, it was canceled but they periodically used DRA's stuff in episodes. it was actually a pretty good show, all the characters in the video are from the show. Video makes more sense if you watched both.

  • @jmssanto10 What was the show called? -thanks :)

  • @MeadowlakeRoad october road.

  • @MsDDiddy Thank you! :)

  • What a dream. Comming home and suddenly the Cardinals are playing in your livingroom.

  • @antifafubel :))) haha I know, right!

    "Welcome home honey!" -Ryan!

  • So awesome to see OTH's Jake! I'm such a fan of Ryan's

  • A great Song!

    From Mandy Moore' s Man!

    Ryan and Mandy forever!

    FOLLOW THE LIGHTS!

  • Ugh, please don't taint this.

  • I find this video slightly homoerotic.

  • like the guy in the video is kinda diggin ryan?

    i agree.

    but i love ryan. :)

  • Ryan Adams almost has more songs than Bob Dylan. Wow!

  • @TheTravelingZombie yeah but one dylan song wipes out a majority of Ryan's collection. It's unfortunate that he was praised early by the likes of Bono, Elton John and Dylan but his career just never hit the top. He was too wrapped up in drugs, himself and his relationships. The greatest singer of our generation who never panned out. I'll drink to that.

  • Great song/ crap film clip!

  • Absolute classic!!Ryan Adams is the one of the best song writers of our generation.

  • brilliant, Bryan Greenberg

  • Its Jake from One Tree Hill!!! Plus he's in bride wars :)

  • he's bangin mandy moore. yer not. scoreboard!

  • well then you have fucking problems and might want to book yourself into rehab

  • Please jump out of said building.

  • Make sure it's a tall building.

  • No Its OCTOBER ROAD

  • Brothers and sister i think its called a tv series

  • this actor looks familiar wat is he off of or wat movie is this from ?

  • This has a very Cat Stevens-esque feel to it. Which is a compliment btw.

  • hi-five on that...i love cat...yusef...

  • I agree.

  • jake from OTH !

  • what a cheesy video to such a great song.

  • best singer song writer of our generation, mabe biggest asshole too...

  • so wonderful

  • Love this is song!

  • Every song he writes stands on its own. He doesn't have one signature sound, he has several...Sooo talented. Don't go a single day without listening to his stuff. Thanks, RyGuy

  • I wonder how much he got paid to do this...

  • Oh man this song is so good.

  • what's going on? such a beautiful song and yet the video looks like an excerpt from an episode of dawson's creek. wrong wrong wrong.

  • It's October Road. You'd understand if you'd seen the show.

  • what.. could you please explain it in like 10 words or something, ive never seen October Road, and i dont have a tv

  • Hmm. I'll try. It's about Nick Garrett as he comes home after ten years and writing a book about his friends.

  • so glad this show got cancelled. too bad for ryan though

  • I really hope this man will be remember like one of the best in the future.

  • This video is so sweet :)

  • is this song in a commercial or something? ive heard it before but i cant think of where it was.

  • It was a song for October Road :)

  • I think its just one of those songs that are so good its sounds like you've heard them before.

  • This is probably one of my favourite Ryan Adam song, along with Tears of Gold

  • Love is hell had some brilliant moments, especially English girls Approx. many others to mention, I suppose its all up to your taste. but true...RocknRoll kind of sucked somethin awful.

  • Well, Rock n Roll wasn't supposed to be a serious album. Ryan said he was joking with those lyrics. Besides So Alive, This is It, and Wish You Were Here, it doesn't really have much to offer.

  • yeah demolition is great.

  • poetry

  • Love this song. And i love most of ryans albums aswell, hes a great musician.

  • speaking of demolition i love the first track Nuclear. Sounds fantastic turned right up on the stereo!

  • Follow the Lights EP was an amazing album. I would say it is one of the best albums he has with the Cardinals. Even though every album Ryan Adams has put out has been amazing. His solo album Demolition was in my CD Player for like 5 months!

  • I'm glad to hear that someone else became completely obsessed with Demolition. By far his most underrated effort.

  • I found it crazy. The lyrics moved me. That is what is so beautiful about Ryan Adams, the way his lyrics correspond with the structure of the music is magical. I found in Demolition all of the tracks were utterly magical and moving. Most certainly one of his underrated album. I mean that album belongs on top of music charts alll around the world.

  • Yeah man, "Hallelujah" and "Cry on Demand" are two of his most beautiful songs. Not to mention the humorous "Tennesee Sucks" and "Chin Up, Cheer Up".

  • demolition was just a collection of tracks that came off of complete unreleased ryan adams albums like 48 hours and the suicide handbook. get those albums theres some true gems

  • Oh man this song is so good. And i reckon the video is excellent! its a soft video for a soft and pleasant song

  • you are hilarious happiness!!! ive seen your bryan/ryan joke before on another video and it made me ABSOLUTELY PISS MY PANTS!!!! YOUR A LEGEND!!!....

  • cunt

  • he`s not worth a comment actually...

  • NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i like ryan but this video is pretty dull.

  • I've heard he's with Mandy Moore...Bad choice..Ryan..bad..

  • No one here cares when some nerd does a joke about Bryan being Ryans father. Thats just lame!!

But what realy pisses me of, is when someone likes Bryan Adams music as WELL as Ryans! that is just twisted and sick!

Someone who likes Bryan Adams can not, under any circumstances, understand the depth of Ryans songs. Its fucking disparaging!

  • well said!

  • Why would he want to be the new bryan adams?!!!!

  • lovely little video, beautiful song. cheers

  • Jessica Joffe?! What is she doing here?!!! Who let her in?!!!!Everybody knows that girlfriend or boyfriend+my video=wrong, wrong

For example:Lopez+Affleck,Lopez and her second husband...what his name was?...Nevermind.I mean there both was in her videos...You know what I mean?!

  • in case anuybody has an interest i do have a never released 3 cd set from london 2007 of ryan and the cardinals...also available vintage classic rock on dvd's..never released stuff mostly from 70's and 80's...csny, neil young, springsteen, kinks, talking heads, seger, california jam 2, bridge school concert 1986, the rolling stones, the who, johnny winter, nils lofgren and many more..if interested in details and full list please send message via youtube.

  • I love this song. But this video is kind of lame...

Hey look! Ryan Adams is playing in my house for no apparent reason!

I know, let's gather around looking confused and smile at him creepily!

  • this song has such a great feel to it.

  • Wow that's an amazing music video and a beautiful song.

    Terrific songwriter = Terrific songs.

who was the girl at the end with Ryan ?

  • I cant remember her name. i cant even remember if i once knew her name. anyway she played Donna is that seventies show.

  • No, i mean the girl who gives the rose to Ryan.

  • ooooh rite. I dunno sorry!

  • Ryan's now ex-girlfriend, Jessica Joffe is the girl giving him the rose at the end.

Watching this video must be bitter for him now.

  • wonderful song. yeeessshy video.

  • ryan fucken rocks

  • hey any 1 know what album this song is on? plz

  • On "Follow The Lights" EP.

    In Europe, "Everybody Knows" EP.

  • nice 1 bruv

  • You know this is Ryan Adams not Brian Adams? Right govenor.

  • Of course I do - I like Ryan, however the was a story of him having a guy thrown out of his concert for yelling out play Summer of 69 and I thought that was a lame thing to do.

  • That is sort of funny though. I never heard about that before

  • I really love this song, its a very meaningful song

  • :-) hey, he's not Brian but Ryan!! anyway, do you know that they share their birthday, too? both of them were born on the 5th of November.

  • Great Song. Love it. Unfortunately, it's a So-so video. It does nothing to help us understand the song. I'd rather just watch RA and the Cardinals.

No, he hasn't sold out. He's maturing as an artist.

  • i'm sorry, but this video is fuckin lame. seriously. this is some CMT shit. why doesn't jesus walk in with faith hill and a baby. it just shows you that ryan has no control over this shit. this man is stylish, and could probably make a better video with a webcam. but this is just my opinion.

  • No artist has 100% control over their stuff. unless they release it. Sometimes you just have to put shit out to get the rest of the stuff you wanna put out, out. As with any agreement there are compromises, things Ryan wants and things the label wants him to do. I'm sure Ryan loves the song, but the label probably viewed the song as "friendly" or in other words, as a money maker, and wanted a cheesy video to go along with it to appeal to all those cheesy people out there. no harm done with it.

  • yeah, it's just your opinion.

  • Good song. Good show (October Road).

  • i'm liking Ryan and the Cardinals, the sound is slightly different from his earlier stuff but it's a big improvement on Rock N Roll and Love is Hell which was kind of 50/50 for me.

Good to see him back on track.

  • Love Is Hell is the most underrated album of the last decade!

  • I agree, I wasm't really a huge fan of Rock and Rocll and Love Is Hell. I was more of a Gold and Demolition person.

  • What about Heartbreaker?

  • great songwriter only dylan better in my opinion

  • and elliott smith is up there with him, i can name mannny that are at par with him.

  • is that Jessica Joffe at the end?

  • yup.

  • I love this video- it highlights October Road which is a pretty freakin awesome show! And the song is beautiful- soulful and retrospective- I love it!!

  • I actually like this song, no he didn't re-invent the wheel w/ it but it sounds nice.I just hat having to say to people," not bryan, ryan"....

  • I love this song because it makes me happy even if I'm sad :)

  • will they lead me home?

  • I think this is weak- he's capable of so much more than a cheap Hollywood slow mo soft focus rubbish video accompanying this boring song. Bring back the edge of Love is Hell!

  • Ryan looks good like he looked back in his early days. he should keep this look.

  • i like this song

  • ryan adams is an un beleivable artist

  • beautiful song, thanks for the video !

  • thisi s off october road when they find out there mom dies this song is soo freakibn awsome

  • Its for the show october road!

    so so so so beautiful

  • soooooooo cute !!

  • Such a random video and what does it have to do with the film. Ryan looks great tho and I love the song so I'll forgive them!

  • No question that is Ryan's girlfriend Jessica Joffe at the end.

Roses and "Rose" has been a theme in Ryan's music long before Parker. There is a theory that "Rose" "Blossom" etc., is really Ryan's fictional female alter ego. Only Ryan knows for sure.

  • whooo Jessica Joffe (and Laura Prepon). Random?

Anyway, it's really cute. You can tell how much loves her. And I like the rose--nice wrap up to a recurring musical motif. Funny, I always used to think the Rose stood for Parker ("Good Night Rose")....

  • ya i thought he gives her to Rose but i think she gives it to him it pops up from her side and he looks down and smiles she doesnt look at it

  • haahhahahahhaha!!!!!! YES!

  • Ok I thought dlgonlta's comment was great so fuck you guys.

  • Good song, gay video.

  • The woman at the end is Laura Prepon. She was in That 70s Show.(Donna)All of the actors in this are from the show October Road.

  • Laura Prepon is the girl at the end.Shes from That 70s show. This clip has all the actors from the show October Road.

    Thanks for posting

  • Is that Ryan's girlfriend Jessica Joffe at the end?

  • Laura Prepon is the woman at the end.

  • yes it is. laura prepon is blonde and sitting at the table behind them when he gives jessica a rose.

  • That's what I thought, thanks kellbriz. It's a nice ending to an otherwise sappy video!

  • its from follow the lights...came out after easy tiger its got like 8 songs

  • this video clip is such a shame

  • Isn't it? Good grief.

  • which album is this song from?

  • From the brand new "Follow The Lights" EP.

    In Europe, "Everybody Knows" EP.
