Rise is definitely the best GiTS intro music, ever.
Although, I prefer the series Major to the movie one, she's a bit cold and dry. At least in the series, she has her moments of impishness from the Manga.
Then again, if I were a full-conversion borg since I was a kid, I'd probably be a bit of a cold fish too.
So can anyone answear something for me is Ghost in the shell 2.0 a remake of the first movie? or another whole movie I believe there a Ghost In the shell 2 movie.
@coolkarl2010 its not the actual sequel(GITS 2:innocence is the actual sequel), is just the 1st one with minor changes you will see more orange and yellow instead of the blue/green tone from the original, the puppet master's voice in jap is female now and the intro/water sequence has a cgi motoko, that's it
oh and obviously better sound quality.
its a nice update but to be honest it doesn't feel as magical as the original version.
i love the tank scene in this movie, it is my favorate from this film, and i still remeber it fondly (haven't seen the entire thing for a long, long time) i mean imageine that, you jump on this machine, and in an effort to rip the top off, completely destroy your arms, i know she was a robot (a fine looking one at that) but just seeing her put her self through that much effort just to get to who was ever in side, was incredible to me
My favourite scene is when she beats that guy with the machine gun up in her cloaking device. The first time I saw that I was so amazed, I'd never seen any animation as impressive or creative as that until then. It's flawless. The tank scene is incredible though. I mean the odds were completely against her yet she put up a good fight and, thanks to Batou, she survived. ^_^
in my opinion, if it wasn't for this movie, anime would still be viewed as cartoons for lil kids, and probably wouldn't have hit mainstream as it has for the past few years, but like i said its my personal opinion
@freak5021 I would say it was this movie and some others like Patalobor, Jin-Roh, Darkside Blues, etc... that also made anime into what it is now. One thing a lot of people don't know is that original GITS movie inspired the making of The Matrix. Really is amazing though to sit back and watch anime change and evolve as you grow up with it. I remember watching the original GITS movie when I was like 15. Of course the complex story went right over my head, but something clicked, lol.
@k9dog1000 movie came first anyways. But in chronological order it goes GITS1, GITS stand alone complex seasons 1 and 2, GITS 2, and then GITS 3 but the movies and the tv series are alternate universes.
@oromaaka3 acrualy motoko appears alot naked, because one her best habilities is her camouflage, in wich she gets invisible, but has to have her close of for onlu her body gets affected by the camouflage. 8D
i'm meaning the dubbed version. motoko's voice actress is different in the ghost in the shell movie(though not in Solid State Society, or either of the 2 tv series)
i really need 2 see this(but i'd rather hoped the major's voice actress was the same 1 that starred in "stand alone complex") does she sound the same? (how about batou?)
Just two. The origonal and the second one named Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence. There is also the tv series Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex. Season two is called Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex 2nd Gig.
wat really confuses me is wen the movie's events occurred in context to the timeline made by SAC...i mean it just doesn't fit! can't be in the past because she lost her body and went to the net..plus in the future there were new members and motoko quit section 9 by that time...paradoxical really...it'd be so cool if all this fitted together...
That's it, they're not meant to fit together. The first two movies are separate from the series (as it's made by someone else) and 3rd movie (post 2nd GIG) just as how 'The Sarah Conor Chronicals' are separate from 'The Terminator' movies.
well that just sucks...a series stressing how everything fits all together and are all connected but the series and movies aren't even in the same universe..
dude...just go to any sci-fi eroge and you'll have alot of them! aaah..the original movie...man she looks really different to her in the original manga...i mean she was cute like the stand alone complex motoko...but i guess butch lookin (or acting) ladies were in fashion for these kinda shows/movies (seriously)...
This was a good AMV to bad the song did not exist when the first film came out. P.S. have you ever thought that Batou in the movie looks like Leon from Bubble gum crisis.
This is awesome! I've never seen such an amazing blend in an AMV like this before. I love the song and I love the movie. The pieces you put together suited the song perfectly! Great job.

I think I know why Adam Jensen does the press check with the 10mm pistol. I'd be very surprised if it *wasn't* a nod to Ghost in the Shell.

@oromaaka3 It's because in the movie and manga, their thermo-optic camouflage only works when their skin is exposed. They changed it for the anime.

well if you think about it, that's their culture. As an American I am not used to that, but the Japanese may be.. like Europeans are used to it.

can someone explain it ?

The guy blew up because he was shot with a high powered machine gun streight to the head.
RhiannonULlewelyn 2 years ago
i always found the delayed reaction to be a bit weird; but i suppose she could have been using explosive rounds with timed fuses.
