  • I saw this series as a child. Fantastic. Still love it.

  • I Love this show for 44 years and counting.

  • This brings back a lot of old memories! :D

  • Supermarionation?!

  • Used to hang out for this on (UK) Midlands ATV on Thursaday at 1655. Us three boys would lie in front of the B&W TV utterly riveted. It just get better when they went colour and we got the TV.

At slightly >50 now, it still has the same - identical - pull!

Simon Archer, author of 'FAB Facts' was a friend. Sadly he was killed in an RTA on the M1. In memory of you Simon!

  • Thunderbirds ROCK!

  • I actually met the Tracy family when I was kid. Really nice people they were too. They let me have my photograph taken with them and even came round for tea one evening.

  • i was born in 86 and watched this show when i was in grade 1 or 2 god i loved this show thunderbird 3 was my fav !! thanks for posting this

  • I remember when this was on the tv here in finland back in the 90's, good memories.

  • @Krimzen22 I actually still have some Thunderbird toys left, including Thunderbirds 1 (with its nose gone), 2 (has lost some paint), 3 (in pieces) and 4 (has lost some paint) + FAB 1 (intact), as well as the figures of Scott, Virgil, Gordon, and Brains.

  • Fantástico!!!

  • Greatest (5). Opening (4). Theme (3). Music (2). Ever (1). It all starts with those great first four chords that immediately set an ominous tone; then a fast percussive segment to heighten the suspense; finally, the glorious Thunderbirds theme. And a super-awesome explosion at the end. Perfection.

  • F*** DreamWorks & ImageMovers. Supermarionation rules all! Last word in cutting-edge special effects!

  • I loved this show so much. The theme music brings back so many memories.

  • This is too awesome, way ahead of its time

  • Busted - Thunderbirds Are Go.

  • Gosh - this is STILL so frakkin' cool.

Thunderbirds ARE (and always WILL be) go!

  • Ah! This brings back memories of all those Satruday mornings watching this when I was a kid!

    Very nostalgic.

  • When I was a kid I used to attach my wagon to my bike and pretend it was Thunderbird 2.

  • i always remember watching it when i was a kid on boomerang at 10pm. God i miss it . it's a real shame they cancelled it it was a huge hit and everyone loves them. They should make another film although the first film wasn't that good compared to the TV series.

  • I loved this show when I was growing up in the early '70s. I made up a million stories in my mind for the Thunderbirds. Thanks for the memories.

  • The characters were named after five of the mercury astronauts.

  • FANTASTIC BRILL EVERY LITTLE BOY WANTED TO BE A THUNDERBIRD.

  • @jonbob6

And this little girl wanted to be Lady Penelope!

  • I forgot just how epic thunderbirds was, Thunderbird 1 was always my favorite because it could do the most, it could go into space like 3, it could fly anywhere and it had a high powered weapon hidden in the nosecone. It was just bad-ass.

  • i feel weird telling you but i was always kinda attracted to the puppet brothers

  • filmed in VIDEOCOLOR! oh yes those where the days lol god im so glad i grew up in those days instead of the crap that kids call cartoons these days

  • Awsome show.

  • As a little kid, I used to play Thunderbirds and me and my friend always used to argue over who would play Alan...Good times...

  • This episode was a classic

  • a clasic

  • Very great!!

  • Ahh !!! For me this was the one!! :-) When the music struck up I was 4 and I was ready!!! lol The excitement used to really send me!! lol Rousing stuff!!

Thanks for posting and bringing back all those happy memories :-)

  • Oh my gosh! I loved watching this when I was a kid. :D

  • @okesaita me too, especially Supercar, Fireball XL5, Stingray, and Captain Scarlet. Sure, by today's standards the stories may sound dumb, but back then a grade-school age kide like me loved 'em! Pity they can't repeat stuff like this today.

  • I had a huge childhood crush on VIRGIL

  • GOLD!

  • jajaja i remember watching old reruns of this show in black and white ,,those were the only one the tv station could afford to show in MEXICO,,ALONG WITH GET SMART ,THE MONSTERS , GILLIGANS ISLAND ,,and there were some japanese ,,that probably were mistranslated GOLDAR , ULTRAMAN,,good memories clean fun!!

  • I was born in 89. But I do remember as a toddler watching this t.v. show with my old man. Cool to see it agian.

  • @Rittmeier89 I also used to have the little green space ship toy. It might still be around the house today.

  • Good old Swingin' Sixties! I'm eighteen but I like all this nerdy stuff. Please give this comment thumbs up if you are also a fan of Telstar.

  • PURE GENIUS

  • This just rocks! It brings back so many happy memories...

  • Wonderful! Thanks for sharing :)

I was a Thunderbirds fan as a kid

  • @msm2you Besides, why do you think they put John up in that space station? They just couldn't trust him around the other boys.

  • I need this song !!! The counting down and then the fast part ! Can someone please tell me what it's called & where I can find it ? Thanks!

  • Why doesn't BP call International Rescue to fix up the oil leak. Nothing else has worked!

  • @nick1nz LMAO!

  • Virgil and Alan used to tag-team Penelope. She was insatiable.

  • Thank you for posting this, grew up watching this classic.

  • I'm rembember this movie in 90's, i'm was child. SWEDEN

  • I have T2 which has the people going on my way father and things

  • I loved this when I was younger

  • I loved that fact that virtually every episode would involve thunderbird 1 going first, Scott getting out, having a think for a second, and then concluding that they would indeed need thunderbird 2 aswell. It took 15 bloody minutes! :-P

  • I used to get teased at school for watching this show!

  • They're all named after astronauts, wow

  • I remember watching this on TechTV before it became G4.

  • アバンタイトルの曲が良いですね。

    そういやなんでキラノの声(?)が入っているのですかね?

  • @saku711028

    Dude, speak in English.

No one is going to understand what your saying.

  • かっこいいですね

  • Living in London in the early 70's. This series was out of this world. It really showed the imagination and thought of true human talent. This really set a place in my heart as a child. Superb!

  • My dad just bought this on DVD.

  • Anyone notice that the 2 new Aircraft Carriers the RN is getting have a Gerry Anderson look to them ? : )

I like the look of them!

  • excuse me doctor but theres something wrong with your face

  • Oh Man superb:)

As a child watching this,Stingray,Fireball XL5 etc these were immensely exciting programs...Still good to watch now.I remember Green TB2 was my fave, little brother liked TB3 the best and so on..I feel privileged to have grown up watching some brilliant animations, thank you Gerry Anderson!

  • @gruffmeister44 These are not animations, they are real puppets which makes them even more awesome! I loved Thunderbirds and would still happily watch them. I used to have the entire collection of Thunderbirds on DVD..... (:-)

  • Anyone every see the connection between Spacex and International Rescue? A wealthy industrialist with a small atol in the pacific launching rockets to a space station? Sounds like a thunderbird episode to me. Of course, Elon Musk is not out to save the world or is he? He states that for humanity to survive we must venture out into space. Sounds like saving humanity to me. I wonder if this series had any impact on him in his childhood. The paralels are to close to not consider.

  • oh man memories memories

  • Remember watching it when i was little great show!

  • Good show, but Thunderbird 2 still looks like a flying watermelon

  • tell tha mi 3yr old gran son uncle alan nn vergil get a life there real people in kids minds @Staszu13 I still watch an enjoy wi im on mi couch

  • There's great selection of replica puppets or sale of Thunderbirds, Captain Scarlet, Joe 90 etc at televisionpuppets dot com

  • I adored Thunderbirds as a kid, and yet I never felt any episode was as good as this debut. Mind you, that could be because Fireflash was my favourite aircraft in the entire series, including the Thunderbird machines. I think Boeing should look into building a new Concorde to look like Fireflash.

  • That's it !.. I want to re-marry a girl who looks like a combo of Lady Penelope and Diana Rigg dammit ..lol

  • Whoa! Lady Penelope and Miss Peel...now THAT's a woman! lol :)

  • I just wanna be Morgan Freeman so I can drive Miss Penelope. We could go visit Diana Rigg circa 1966. Then we could all pile in her car and go see Lynda Carter circa 1978. OMG!

  • wtf i was searching for thunder birds by sod

  • Stand by for action... Love it

  • brilliant show love it

  • what a great show. classic. great characters. i never get tired of it. thanks.

  • Anything can blow up in the next half-hour! :D

  • SUPERMARIONATION

  • Virgil was the main man, he kicked ass.. ha ha man im 8 again :>

  • Turkmenistan !!!...izzuafyiz bliddichump

  • And now we can't build an extra F-22.... sad.

  • This was when we were great. Now look at us.

  • my friend had a thunderbirds alarm clock that did this opening as the wake up. Thunderbirds are awesome.

  • f*****g awesome!

  • This was the favorite top 3 shows when I was a kid.. My other 2 was Shazam, and the 6 million dollar man.

  • WROOOOOOOONNNNNNNNG :)

  • I love this theme! I'm such a geek, I have this and many more on a 2 CD set called "The Cult Files: Re-Opened", wonderful stuff!

There is nothing quite like hearing this "space age pop" in hi-fi stereo!

I hear the RAF uses this during aerobactic flight demos, like the Red Arrows these days.

  • Does anyone know what the name of this particular episode is? The one where the plane crashes?

  • I think it could be "Trapped in the Sky", that is one I remember with the Fireflash. Not positive.

  • FAB!!!... = ]

  • I want this played at my funeral as my coffin slides off to the furnace.

  • That is one of the best ideas I have ever heard!

  • hahahaha that's the ebst idea ever

  • this will always be a clasic

  • THUNDERBIRDS ARE GO

    FOB Scott..

  • Surely the best known opening for a TV series!

  • Oh yes, Thunderbird 2 was the business!

  • It was the Thunderbirds followed by Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons.......thank you Gerry and Sylvia Anderson.........

  • Awesome!!!

  • The giant Beluga cargo planes that carry Airbus components around Europe have large fleet numbers applied in exactly the same typeface as the Thunderbirds, and an air-to air film of the prototype was accompanied by the T-birds theme music. Nice to see someone in the industry has a sense of humour!

  • This is real classic! And that god-damn Hollywood had to rape even this!

  • There was always a subtle theme of super technology causing disaster. Nuclear Powered logging machines, Sun Probes, moving the empire state building and as seen here - a nuclear powered airliner. Fireflash has a root in fact as nuclear powerplants for aircraft were looked into and when the show was made, Concorde was being designed and much faster planes were being conceptualised. I always loved Fireflash with the pilots being in the tail unit and a lounge in the wing leading edges! God I'm sad!

  • when i was a kid in the early 70s this was the shit. i just watched the first 2 movies and still great for its time malady. lol.

  • yerrrrrrrrrrrrrr awsome ++

  • i loved this episode

  • Nostalgia. : )

  • I used to get nightmares of this

  • america- fuck yeah!

  • I used to watch this before school in the late 60's early 70's, whilst eating breakfast!

  • T Birds always makes me think of when I was I was about eleven years old and Sunday dinners. T birds would be on London Weekend Television just after University Challenge and I would be putting off going back to Bexley Grammar......If only Scott or Virgil could pick me up and take me away from school......sigh...

  • Bexley Grammar? Of all the chances on the world wide web, I just happen to be a neighbour, I live in Dartford!

  • i love Thunderbirds, my favorite Thunderbirds is Scott, Thunderbird 1, i used to watch this when i was young, this take back some good memories, i love the opening, Greatest show ever made,

  • Comment removed

  • an all time classic.

my heores back in the day :')

i used to like the way they entered thunderbird 3 on that sofa.

  • Still one of the best classics series out there.

  • LOVE IT ^_^

  • Bloody classic....i always felt sorry for that poor sod stuck on TB 5

  • My granddaughter was scared of Brains and still is :)

  • Used to get up at 5:30am on a saturday morning to watch this..........motivation was not a problem!! I'd have a temper tantrum if I missed the start!! Today I couldnt get up at 5:30am to watch a UFO fly overhead!!

  • I thought F.A.B. meant 'Fully Acknowledged Broadcast'?

    Ah well. Nostalgia.

  • And not a black person to be found!

  • Your so right; "refreshing" to watch!

  • But you are so wrong. WTF made you think I was a racist scumbag like you?

  • But you are so wrong. WTF made you think I was a racist scumbag like you?

  • No Gays, nothing Political, no Greenies, no drugs ahh the simple days. But I always wanted to fuck Lady Penelopy!

  • You might have a shot if you can spell her name right, me personally I rather have a human...

  • Your right, I was so excited to see her again I got a woody!

Tin Tin wasn't shabby either, maybe I got my fetish for hot Asian girls from her!

Thanks for that, reminded me of one of my fav episodes when they landed the plane onto the lead car under the nose with the 2 remote cars under the wings.

  • used to love this programme

  • used 2 watch this a lot

  • Ohhh, it's wonderful. Makes me all gooey inside. I even have a tear in my eye just remembering back then... My cousins in NZ had a blue corgi/dinki TB2 and I thought TB2 was blue and then colour TV came in the mid 70's in Aussie and heck, it was green after all!

  • Gerry was awesome. Love his stuff. I have the full DVD set of the Tbirds.

  • number 1 2 and 3 were always the best

  • 雷鳥顎

  • they are puppets.

  • I think all the 5 tracey sons were named after the mercury astronauts.
