hi all it was a pure delight to hear top musicians perform together and put there own mark on things as a musician i appreciate they had a hard job to do with circumstances beyond there control with weather and equipment. would have been a much better gig if it was indoors he did not play a set to get the crowd going and definitely lacked somthing outdoors it was shite indoors i would say its powerful
Look if Eric Clapton want's to play a song he wrote in a different way or change the words he can do that.....so build a bridge and get over it......if you don't like him tough don't go to his concert....did you not hear him thanking everybody for staying in the rain...the man is a legend....do you want shinny suits and fireworks if so go to a Westlife concert......that goes out to __gillmcc.
Clapton was terrible! Not only did he get some of the words wrong during a couple of songs but he even played a few songs differently! Wonderful tonight was AWFUL!!! Self Indulgent RUBBISH! I want my money back!!!
You never heard people change the lyrics when playing live? Should go watch some Thin Lizzy concerts, Phil was a great man for that. Same with songs, a great version of Romeo and the Lonely girl on youtube, very slow. Shame you feel that way. I really anjoyed it.
@roflloldrg No I agree with gillrncc. I'm sick of these guys changing the songs live! The reason you're famous is because the way you originally performed the song! These guys all wanna become self indulgent assholes! They say "Oh I don't wanna perform it the same way all the time." Well get a real job then asshole!!! Be happy you're a fuckin millionaire rock star, and be happy all you are required to do is play your fuckin songs the way you played em when you wanted to become rich & famous!!!!!
me and a friend were trying to get a few chants going the whole way through concert but no one joined in we ended up lookin like two crazy people. oh well
It was a grea gig musically. Great sound! When there was sound, that is. Was a bit of a fiasco at the end...tech crew must've been shitting themselves. But the musicians were topnotch, I think they knew they had to dig deeper or things would have really turned ugly. I was one of the lucky ones, up near the front so we could still hear the stage monitor mix when the sound out front went. Man of the match - Abe Laboriel Jnr on drums. Awesome. Crowd were lively enough where I was.
To be honest, I don't think he knew until he was told (during the first one, I saw him being told, he signaled for amps to be turned up). Doesn't seem like he knew during the second. He wouldn't, it was just the front of house and screens. They wouldn't hear it even when it was on. Still a brilliant gig though.

Disappointing gig, eric was excellent but no atmosphere at the gig, maybe it was the rain and/or power cuts.

One of the best he took the sound problems in his stride, still it was a good gig except for the rain.
