  • Why was Johnson at the hospital? This would never happen now would it?

  • I love how he weaved Johnson's inauguration and assumption of the Presidency into the report. As important as that was, who would have thought of that at the time?

  • The assassination of President John F. Kennedy. E.Howard Hunt In audio recordings, discussions and writings, said that he and several others were involved in a conspiracy to kill President Kennedy. He said the codename the conspirators gave for the operation was "The Big Event." The other alleged conspirators included David Phillips, Cord Meyer, Frank Sturgis, David Morales, William Harvey, a French gunman, Lucien Sarti, who worked for the Mafia, and Lyndon B. Johnson.

  • THERE'S A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET! HOUSTON WE HAVE A PROBLEM!

  • WHY DID THE CAMERA MAN FOCUS ON THE BLACK GUY WITH THE BOWTIE? THE CAMERA MAN WAS ORIGINALLY GOING TO ZOOM STRAIGHT, BUT HE JERKED THE CAMERA TO THE RIGHT AND ZOOMED ON THE BLACK GUY WITH THE BOWTIE! WTF? SERIOUSLY! COMMENTS PLEASE!

  • Only Cronkite could deliver this and keep his composure, I don't think there will ever be a better broadcaster, not with the pussy ass PC-conscious fucks the industry pumps out today, we don't have any truly great household names in the news/broadcast business these days and its for good reason.

  • Mr.Cronkite was one of the greatest broadcasters ever as he covers this aweful event unfolding.

As hard as it is for him, he does the best to keep his composure!

  • @favre16 Yah this is what we used to have from the news and what we expected. The softballing weak kneed no hard question asking pretty idiots they have today couldnt lick his boots or carry his notebook for him.

  • Chuck Norris built a time machine and went back in time to stop the JFK assassination. As Oswald shot, Chuck Norris met all three bullets with his beard, deflecting them. JFK's head exploded out of sheer amazement.

  • @MetalEdge56 That is not funny.

  • the greedy capitalists killed him. the country changed and it effects the whole world today. fuck capitalism!

  • @Karlox13: WHAT??? Please get some help. Honestly, those of you who say "fuck capitalism" on such a post are just as brainwashed as those who bring "god" into every fucking conversation. PLEASE stop!!!

  • @mlc2005 if you don't understand my comment, don't reply.

  • I no who Martin Luther king is I live in Canada and I'm 12 he fought for freedom for the niggers and he went to jail many

Times for it and got assassinated in a hotel while having a smoke

  • @superbuckwheat99 why say niggers? Prick. African-Americans.

  • @MrMisterJB nope...jungle bunnies

  • It's Martin Luther King day! So, when is John F Kennedy day again?

  • @linklovezelda He died before he could accomplish much of anything. He is known as a symbol of hope and youth... and unfulfilled potential I guess, but you can't give somebody a holiday over that.

  • @MsThunderpaws He was our president, if that's not a good enough reason then at least to help us remember how corrupt our government is. Let's not forget what he died for.

  • The tears...is unbearable. Even for a pro TV anchor like him TT _ TT

  • One of my first memories, unfortunately.

  • The voice of the owl

  • FUCKING MOSSAD AND CIA!!!! THEY KILLED HIM

  • This was the beginning of the end for the United States of America.

  • What a freaking champion of a newscaster. We need more Cronkites in the world today.

  • 5:00 Really feel for the guy right there.

  • JFK is my distant cousin

  • Such composure.

  • Fox is biased BECAUSE of Cronkite? You've been watching too much "fair and balanced news". Faux News is biased because owner/billionaire Rupert Murdoch is a turd..a ultra right wind douchebag who has told his news staff to intentionally give the right wing spin whenever they can. He's the same slime who had his London staff illegally dig up dirt on persons he wanted to screw Fair and balanced news, right. Don't blame this on Cronkite. Blame Faux for hiring the likes of OReilly/Hannity/Beck

  • Dan Rather worked with CBS in 1963?

  • @Jessyleppert Yes, he joined CBS in 1962 and was made the chief of CBS's southwest bureau in Dallas. The JFK assassination gave him his first national exposure, and he was one of the few people to view the Zapruder film before it was shown to the public.

  • people who dislike this have no heart

  • oswald got wat u wished 4 and more him dead every1 hatin on u and guess? wat now ur dead to!!!

  • '

'So many initially inaccurate radio/television/print reports during the first couple days of coverage. That's why it's always important to "sit" with such reports for awhile FIRST, then try, over time, try to suss out what ACTUALLY happened. Not ever easy, that's for sure.

  • I shouted out,

    Who killed the kennedys?

    When after all

    It was you and me

    Let me please introduce myself

I'm a man of wealth and taste

  • Comment removed

  • im Australian and i respect John F Kenndy

  • @TheGamerPro246 same here they killed a man who wanted peace THATS A SHAME

  • No one has tested only the movements of the second. and third. shots, proven by video zapruther takes only 4 seconds. If testing will easily see that the conspiracy existed. Think LHO fired the second time, reloaded the gun, missed the target, had to find again the head moving from jfk to 90 feet away and shoot. Impossible in 4 seconds!. LHO was 24, a boy, would never have achieved. Shooter 24 years of practice. as the best in the world could not

  • @MrGman8161 Did i say it wasnt? :$

  • And in the streets the children screamed, the lovers cried and the poets dreamed. But not a word was spoken; the church bells all were broken. And the three men I admire most: The father, son and the holy ghost - they caught the last train for the coast - the day the music died. -- RIP Mr. President -- your absence is felt each day

  • . Although i was born many years after this fateful day in American history, i can only imagine what everyone was feeling on that long November day. I've admired President Kennedy since i was 13 years old and i hope one day i can meet the man that had such dreams for our country. The way Mrs. Kennedy conducted herself during the funeral never ceases to amaze me. She has always been my role model because she taught me to remain strong and dignified even when things seem most dark. Rest in Peace,

  • Arguably his finest hour...

  • This changed our nation,it was never the same.

  • Rest in Peace.

  • 48 years to the day :'(

  • RIP JFK

  • One gun. One shooters. Stop excusing the murdering dog Oswald to make yourself feel like you know something others don't. It's selfish and petty. Indicative of today's USA. RIP JFK.

  • Just like it was YESTERDAY! Remember this day so well........in 7th grade at the time.

  • one wonders how Monty Python might have delivered this news...

'E's dead, 'E's passed on, This president is no more! He has ceased to be! 'E's expired and gone to meet 'is maker! 'E's a stiff! Bereft of life, 'e rests in peace! Pushing up the daisies! 'Is metabolic processes are now 'istory! 'E's off the twig! 'E's kicked the bucket, 'e's shuffled off 'is mortal coil, run down the curtain and joined the bleedin' choir invisibile!! THIS IS AN EX-PRESIDENT!!

  • At 4:42 you can see the two guys in the back ripping the paper and giving it to Walter to read.

  • Non sence. I witnesed it myself! I saw him die by a pack of nazi zombies on five! Thumbs up if u know wat im talking about

  • 28 Oswalds didn't like the video...

  • VAME88 sent me...

  • so sad

  • RIP Kennedy and RIP Cronkite

  • @LucidDream101 Haha troll!

  • Wow, the US media seems genuinely honest and informative back then.

  • fun fact: Leslie Martinson directed the movie PT-109 and Rescue from Gilligan's Island.

  • fun fact: him and martin luther king both took credit for stuff they didn't actually write.

  • fun fact; he was the father of huge government debt and sic'ing the government on political enemies.

  • salamisumo....Cronkite was far left? Go back to watching your "fair and balanced" horse manure on Faux News. You'll be happy in their fantasy land.

  • Very intense. Ol' Walter started to choke up. Watching this kind of reminded me of how I felt during 9/11. This took place the year I was born and even though I don't remember, I've always considered Kennedy my president.

  • Fun fact!: JFK was the first and only Catholic President.

  • @Richerdtv Fun Fact: he also wast the last president not to be a government drone

  • Comment removed

  • How could one not like and respect Cronkite. He gave the news with insight and no political spin. Those at Faux News could learn a thing or two from him.

  • @k4xs You forgot the far-left as well. MSNBullshit

  • @k4xs he was the voice for "Ra" or "The Owl" at Bohemian Grove. it was/is a celebration for "The Cremation of Care."

  • @k4xs CBS should take notes. Remember Rathergate?

  • @Zwei4815 But... This is CBS :P

  • @BlobTheBunny Exactly. Where did they go wrong?

  • @k4xs They all could learn a thing or two from Mr Cronkite.

  • Comment removed

  • @k4xs yes, but trust me, they could ALL learn a thing or two

  • @k4xs How could one not like and respect Cronkite? I'll tell you. Cronkite got America's respect & they trusted his word, and by the time we hit the Vietnam war he started adding his own personal opinions on the news, giving a little spin that was unheard of at the time. IN FACT he's the reason Fox News are so biased. They're like the true Cronkite to the extreme. He laid the foundation for them towards opinionated news and they built an empire..

  • @k4xs Heck, all news organizations could learn from him.

  • @k4xs dont forget PMSNBC AND CNN.

  • @k4xs He's part of the secret societies our elite masters also attend, he's filth.

  • Much respect for Kennedy. He is one of my heroes up there with John Lennon and bob Dylan and etc. I just wish him and Lennon went the way they went it is so sad to think of people like them being killed the way they were cause they were standing up for everything they believe in. :'( when he was president America was good. Rip JFK.

  • Thumbs up for kennedy

  • JESUS F. CHRIST!

The guy's dead. How many times do you have to be told?

  • 2 find a way 2 see the truth do not get distracted w/ the dust particles that float in the air.4 some exist naturally, others r part of the NWO's fog of illusion. • Cleveland brought me here!

  • I am not an American.I am from Greece.John F. Kennedy is one of my heroes.Because he wanted to do great things but was never given the chance.Because he was ready to defend his country at any cost during the Cuban missile crysis.Men like Kennedy are born every 1000 years. And i would surely cry if a learned a man like Kennedy was assisinated even he wasnt my president.R.I.P John.

  • FYI: -this nefarious jewZionist Walter CronKike was as Commie-liberal as they come, --just another nefarious enemy of the truth, and friend of notorious Bank'ster DavidRockefeller. Always tried to portray himself as a decent n.American, --he was an ADL-agent; --nuff said...!!!

  • @AryanKnight your smart!... but your comments are wrong & in bad taste.

  • *glasses on* *glasses off* *glasses on* *glasses off*

  • @NsGymdude When you're the age that Walter was when this happened, you'll be doing the glasses on, glasses off routine too.

  • @sariebsolomon and over 90+ people said they heard shots only from the SBD and heard only 3 shots.

  • WOW

  • the day the news announced the death of JFK it was also the death of America

  • Opie & Anthony sent me here

  • As a Turk i have deeply respect to him too and many people from all around the world respect him,may God rest his soul.

  • Unlike Bush, Reagan and JFK were two extremely charismatic people that had willingness to get things done.

  • im here because black ops bought me here

im here just to see his death...

  • Old American news looked better than today's CNN, ABC etc.. This guy actually tells where the information came from like at 3:48

  • @isokessu It's true, they don't make newsmen like Walter anymore, it was good growing up in a world where there were newspeople with real honesty and integrity.

  • @isokessu Watch the movie "All The President's Men"... you will see that news journalism is ALL about confirming where each tiny bit of information came from. These people were respected and trusted for a reason.

  • Back when news was respectable

  • The murderers everybody knows them ... seek to Rockefeller, Morgan, Cabot Lodge, Mellon, Loeb, Gugenheim, Moors, Ford, Kuhmo, Du Pont de Nemours ... these are "THEY" ... who would lose a lot with JFK, especially if he won reelection as actually happen

  • Feel sorry for Kennedy He was a good man, and he didn't get to see, that he was on youtube.

  • Killuminati

  • I've always wondered why the five or six snipers did not use silencers? ... remember that President Kennedy was less than 12 meters from the person who made the last fatal shot. Kennedy was the victim of the economic power of U.S. and the Zionists. Remember what happened to Johnnson then ... sent hundreds of thousands of topas in Vietnam, and many of them back in bags

  • I've always wondered ... Why the five or six snipers did not use silencers? remember that Kennedy was less than 12 meters from which the last fatal shooting, Kennedys was a victim of Zionism and U.S. economic power, the decision would affect those policticas that economic groups, but see what ocurrión with Johnson after he sent hundreds of thousands of troops to Vietnam

  • Our country has never recovered

  • Very professional and moving while fighting tears. He is allowed, knowing what had just happened.

  • We have word from Dan Rather that the president is dead ...but this is not OFFICIAL confirmation. Uh ...good call there Walter. All these years later, and people still have a hard time believing him.

  • @joejjl It's not official until there is a White House announcement, in this case by Malcolm Kilduff who was acting press secretary for the president's Texas trip. That is what Walter means.

  • I was in an English class at Bayside High School (New York City) when this tragedy occurred. I will never forget the shock and sorrow of all of us to this terrible event. I remember watching the evening news on tv and seeing Walter Cronkite cover the death of President Kennedy. I believe that he was as shocked and as sorrowful as all of us were.

  • Wait till obama happends.

  • @KimiNiTodokeSeason2 Why would you even say that?

  • @itssold16 I'm saying it would be even worse. I'm not saying i want it to happen geez

  • @KimiNiTodokeSeason2

    .....cant wait.....

  • @HalfBornUnicornFetus WTF IS WRONG WITH YOU! ??!

  • @KimiNiTodokeSeason2

Meh basic run of the mill insanity.

  • If you listen to this without watching, it's not too different from any news broadcast today.

  • @4:44 the guy in the background gets the official news off the news wire machine.

  • I just watched the Mad Men episode that featured this news clip.

  • Thanks for uploading this. Fascinating to see so many years after the event.

  • we need alot more news men like that now ya days

  • I am only 39 so, this was before my time. But, this makes me so sad. I think President Kennedy was doing a much better job than our current President. My mom was in 6th grade and my dad in 7th when this happened.

    Dawn

  • @10Dec1971 What's the use of comparing Presidents?! Before he was shot down, people complained he was a bad President due to the whole Bay of Pigs fiasco and the beginnings of the Vietnam war. Now people looked to him like the coming of the Messiah. I agree he was on his way to becoming a great President but to compare him to any other President who were able to complete their terms or to the current President for that manner who isn't finished completing his term is unfair IMO.

  • @CUNTservativesRDung I must say a lot of people look at our current "President" as the second coming of the Messiah. I do respect your opinion though. No problem.

  • The country's frame of mind was very different then. I was a little boy and I remember the stores turning off their music and people speaking in whispers in the stores. it was creepy going to department stores with my mom and hearing silence except for the old cash registers ringing and clanking. Now there are radio shock jocks, internet blogs, and TV shows mocking and reveling the death of leaders.

  • actually walter cronkite had met and interviewed jfk several times, a couple of them as president. I remember seeing this announcement. I just came home from school after it was closed by the principal. At that time, JFK represented a lot of hope to people. I also remember jfk went up in peoples minds after the successful conclusion of the Cuban Missle Crisis. I remember that too...probably why cronkite reacted as he did.

  • There was a day, when our President was our President. Not an enemy of the state. When Presidents were good men, and no matter their political leanings, they were still good, honest, hardworking public servants.

  • @BallisticPenetration we've never had that in my country, that's why I admire US democracy so much, with all its flaws and its mistakes, the assassination of JFK was definitely one of its darkest moments and what came after that was tragic, the death of Martin Luther King, Bobby Kennedy, Watergate... but democracy have always prevailed, the institutions remain intacts, that's admirable...

  • @melavzla What country do you live in?

  • this makes me feel like im there like in 1962

  • Nobody should have to die like that.

  • HAHAHAHA XD

  • the kennedy family could easily have lapsed into self pity but they have faced it all head on. from what i know about them they seem a very decent and compassionate bunch, obviously like any family they're not perfect

  • I was a 10 year old Kiwi boy in small town New Zealand, cycling into town on an errand for my folks when another boy yelled out that President Kennedy has been shot dead. I turned around and sprinted home to tell my parents. They both burst into tears, and so did I - the sense of enormous loss was huge. I remember that incident like it was yesterday.

  • @ctam2009 - It was a national tragedy as would be the asassination of any free country's leader and Mr. Cronkite was responding to the tragedy as many people do - with feelings of grief. He attempted to control the expression of that grief in order to carry on with the announcement as was his duty, as a journalist, to the American people. And as I'm sure you can understand it is difficult to cry and speak clearly at the same time. Duh.

  • IRA man...

  • This is history right here. I wasn't born until over 19 years later and had only read about President Kennedy's assassination in encyclopedias. It's a whole other experience watching the news bulletin video as it happened. I felt sadness as if I were there in the moment. Amazing. Cronkite was truly one of the greats.

  • there was no way he could have lived after that head shot :(

  • just outta curiosity....i dont care about ones politcs i dont wanna hear any political answers...what i want to know is cronkite trying not to cry. and if he was. why was he crying.....

    because a president was killed??

because kennedy was a great prez??

because kennedy was a close friend of cronkites??

again i dont want to hear anyones politcal views... i wasnt born then and im looking for a straight answer

  • @ctam2009 I wasn't born yet either, but JFK was one of our most charismatic and popular presidents. The "New Frontier" program was his vision of a brighter future for America. Look what happened to the '60s after his assassination.

  • @maxpowers518 He was the first President to speak out in support of the Civil Rights movement and the moral injustices that were associated with it. Among other things, he was indeed a genuinely good person who was well liked and loved by all races. This was recognized as a tremendous loss.

  • @ctam2009 Conkite had interviewed JFK back in September. Perhaps he had a "If I had only known" moment while on the air. You just can't be sure what one is thinking.

  • @ctam2009 It was just a very sad thing. He was a young, charismatic guy. He had two little kids. He was a breath of fresh air in an era of grumpy old men (as in the past few presidents before him). I remember the whole country standing still that day. It was just a real shock to everyone.

  • @ctam2009 he was known to be a great admirer of JFK ,Cronkite had just spent some time with JFK that previous Labor Day in Hyannis Port. He saw JFK 'S young family, etc. Plus it was a very different time in our country.

  • @ctam2009

Why was he crying? What an odd question. Because he was a human being. And millions and millions cried with him.

  • @ctam2009 he was probablly trying no to cry but the whole country was mourning

  • @ctam2009 It's also called patriotism. It's hugely depressing when a president passes. Especially when the president is assassinated. Nothing worse.

  • @ctam2009 the straight answer is pretty obvious the man was upset

  • @ctam2009 All of the above, except I can't remember how close Kennedy and Cronkite were. I know they knew and liked each other. Walter Cronkite talks about the assassination and why he reacted the way he did in his book, "A Reporter's Life". Jay

  • @ctam2009 I think it's because the President of our country had just been killed (a young man of 46), a father of two small children. I don't think Cronkite was a particular fan of JFK , but it was so shocking and JFK had inspired so many Americans and it was just over in the blink of an eye.

  • @ctam2009 well, I'll give you the straightest possible answer that I can - this was in a day when first off an assasination of a standing president had not happened in quite a long time. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that Lincoln was the last one;.also, broadcasting it live and in person to the nation was a whole new gig in these days -.this was WELL before CNN or any of the other 24/7 news casts, so we're talking about a whole diffeferent news culture. Also, newscasters had more respect.
